Dorothy M Hayes Long

Introduction: Dorothy has more than five years of experience providing wedding officiant services across DC and Maryland. She is an ordained minister, rabbi, and pastor of the Universal Life Church (ULC), an organization which represents religious freedom in all its forms. At the ULC Ministries there is no hierarchy, all faiths are considered equal, and no deity is held above another. Dorothy performs Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, non-denominational, and non-religious weddings. She works with couples to create a wedding ceremony that uniquely fits their personalities and beliefs, including help writing vows. Dorothy takes great pride in being part of a couple's celebration of love and commitment as they embark on a lifelong journey together. As a gay woman, performing same-sex ceremonies for the LGBTQ community holds a special place in her heart, but she enjoys working with straight couples as well.
