Introduction: I am a band director in the Twin Cities area and have been teaching flute lessons for over 20 years. I have a Doctorate in music with a minor in music theory. I love working with students!
I love working with students and helping them learn more about music. While I like the large classroom setting, I enjoy the individual attention that private lessons offers to students.

Donna Hryniewicki has done an excellent job teaching my Daughter the flute and other instruments. She has been patient, and truly cares about her progress. Learning the flute through Donna's instruction has given my daughter a higher level of self-confidence; something she lackd in the past. Donna has provided her with challenges and has motivated her in a positive way to meet those challenges. Donna's a teacher who truly cares about her students success. Her excitement about learning music keeps her students focused to achieve higher levels. Plus she communicates freely on issues and ways to improve. My daughter would like to pursue a music degree, which I believe is due to Donna's influence. As a parent, Donna has been one of the best teachers I have worked with.

Donna has been my private flute lesson teacher for 7 years now and the growth I've experienced under her guidance both as a player and a person is incredible. Not only does she take the necessary time to get to know her students, but she also offers extremely helpful advice no matter what the subject. In the past I've struggled to find private lesson teachers that were easy to work with and had a flexible schedule. However, after my first few lessons with Donna, I knew she would be a great fit. She's led me to particpation in various state-level honor bands as well as several rigorous ensembles. Without a doubt, Donna is the most knowledgable music teacher with the highest qualifications that I've ever worked with, which contributes immensely to ease of understanding and growth that is crucial for a young student.

I am currently a senior at Mahtomedi High School, and Donna has been my flute teacher since the sixth grade. The past six years have been filled with hilarious anecdotes, cute kittens, and of course stellar flute instruction. Donna has helped me to develop and nourish my flute skills, teaching me terms and techniques that one simply does not learn in the band classroom. Under her guidance, my confidence and abilities have increased tenfold. On top of being born for teaching, Donna has always been there for me when I need someone to talk to, from trivial issues to big dilemmas. I'm so glad that throughout the taxing and ever-changing years of middle and high school, Donna has constantly been there for me, both as a teacher and as a friend.

Donna is an incredible musician, wonderful teacher, and just an overall great person to be around! I would reccommend private lessons with her to absolutely anyone. You'll learn and progress a lot and get to spend time with a really sweet person who is genuinely enthusiastic about music & teaching.

Donna is a wonderful flute teacher. She is incredibly talented and is great at sharing her expertise, skills, and technique with students in order to help students develop and excel in their musical skills. She's also a very friendly and personable individual who can connect with students on a personal level.
