FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My hourly rate is 60. I recommend starting with 30 minute lessons for beginners. With children under 6, I make sure the lessons are 30 minutes so they can hyper-concentrate for a short amount of time. There is a lot of repetition that needs to happen in order to make sure a student absorbs as much as possible and 30 minutes is usually not enough for older students. With that said, I give 45/50 minute lessons as well.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
As with any student, I need to assess their level, whether they are a beginner or has had some experience. Next, I like to get to know each student so I can modify my lessons around their personalities and their way of learning. I always have a personalized plan for every student.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Master's degree in violin performance, years of experience in teaching a well as playing in professional ensembles. I am a professional violinist with the Florida Orchestra. Currently I play with Houston Grand Opera and sub with Houston Symphony.
