Introduction: Empathy serves as the core of my approach in fitness training. I'm a former professional running back, who has sustained injuries, letdowns, and comebacks. This is why I apply active listening as a fundamental element in my training. I tailor workouts according to the goals each client's goals. I specialize in strength training and high intensity interval training (HIIT) routines, using plyometrics or boxing. One client worked his way up to five 5-minute rounds of HIIT boxing mitt work, which was instrumental in him dropping 25 pounds and getting shredded over a five-week period. I enjoy helping my clients reach their fitness goals, having been at the starting line time and again myself.

Rashad is a very knowledgeable trainer. I've taken some group boxing classes in the past and I didn't pick up much. I found the learning curve to be a bit too high. The class would quickly rotate between several drills. Once in a while, the supervising instructor would give a quick critique on my form and turn away to another student. I often looked to my classmates for clues on what to do. One-on-one training with Rashad has made a big difference. He created a custom workout based on my strengths, weaknesses, and fitness/fighting goals. I've already picked up fundamental techniques after a few sessions.

I was a bit nervous to begin with, thinking I was going to get a guy that only speaks boxing. And 15 minutes into the session I'd be fighting life and death with some meathead. But Rashad was just the opposite. Very patient and knowledgeable about the sweet science. He showed me the proper way to throw a punch; jabs, straights & uppercuts while shifting my balance from the balls of my feet to my heels. It was a great experience and I got a chance to sweat. Double win! All in all, it was a great session and I'm looking forward to doing it again.
