Introduction: Whether you are a beginner that would like to learn a basic rock groove, to a highly advanced student who wants to work on their jazz independence and perfect the execution of their ghost notes, it would be my true pleasure and joy to help you with that. I am a graduate from the Drum Program at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California, where I studied contemporary performance, learning jazz, blues, funk, hip-hop, rock, Latin, and much more. I have founded and played drums in successful bands like EDM DJ-Drummer duo, Shell Shock, which shared the stage with renowned bands like Alien Ant Farm and Crazy Town. I have played on professional gigs for live dance events. I have played in Parliament Funkadellic Tribute Group MC Funk. I also have performed in night clubs like Parq Night Club in San Diego DJIng and playing drums! I also played in an awesome band called Hibiscus, which was my first band. I LOVE THE DRUMS! Working with Drew was an overall great experience. Drew is very attentive, patient and thorough. He was very encouraging and gave gentle reminders to stay relaxed, take deep breaths, not beat myself up when I made small mistakes, and to just groove and feel the music rather than overthink it. His lesson flowed perfectly and I must say that my over all favorite part of the lesson was drumming along side Drew and watching his expertise and light shine! I would happily recommend Drew to anyone serious about learning to play and love the drums!

Drew is an incredible musician and teacher. His drum practice is rooted in body awareness and focus. Drew taught me a few patterns that he played along with me, he even wrote them out for me so i can practice at home. We went over note values and did some repetitions on both sides leading up to playing an essential rock groove at the end. I played the groove correctly a few times! It was really rewarding. His teaching approach is empowering, and I was able to relax and do my best :)
