Percussion and Drumset Instruction
About this pro
Henry has been teaching both my 5 year old, and myself, hand drums. And facilitating a drum circle for us with families of 5-7 YOs. He's been great - very flexible to adjust to what we want, and finding the right things to teach us so we make progress focused on our interests. I'd highly recommend him!May 5, 2017Verified
Henry's been really helpful in showing me the basics of percussion. I wanted to learn more so I could play in my community band and Henry's been teaching me snare, marimba, timpani and drum set. He's super sweet and really patient, I totally recommend him to all my musical friends!Feb 28, 2017Verified
Henry worked with our son for about 6 months and we couldn't be more pleased. He is very professional and our son loves him.Feb 28, 2017
Let me start by saying that Henry is a stellar drummer himself. He played a demo for us the first time we met and I was absolutely blown away. Henry is a dream with kids, and he has lots of experience watching and teaching them music. He's professional, got a great sense of humor... No bad marks here. Call him up. By the way, my son is well above the top of his music class now.Feb 28, 2017
Henry is an excellent percussionist with familiarity on all devices. I hire him weekly. He is also very responsible with a heart for teaching.Feb 28, 2017

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I typically charge $30 for a half-hour and $60 for an hour, plus mileage if making house calls. I offer discounts for students paying their own way.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I figure out what their skill level is, as well as their goals for playing. Then we decide together what we will focus on, since percussion includes such a broad spectrum of skills.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am finishing up my last semester at SJSU for a Bachelor of Music Education.
