- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I talk with them on the phone to get a sense what they are looking for. We then set up a time to do a private lesson.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have ignited the joy of dance teaching ballet and creative dance for over 40 years to children 2-½ - high school as well as adults. I have taught at many public and private schools throughout Marin County. Prior to JOD Ballet School, I taught ballet in Westport Conn, Cologne Germany, Rome and Belgium. My teaching style supports each child’s technical growth in ballet while also taking care to preserve the child’s own special way of moving. I believe that classical ballet must be taught with discipline, focus, creativity, and FUN to sustain a child’s natural “Joy of Dance.” It is my passion to support every child to their fullest potential. Using my professional background as a modern/ballet dancer, as well as a choreographer, I have choreographed many creative and beautiful recitals to showcase my student's talents. Professionally, I have performed with the SF Opera Company (where I was also a choreographer), Bat Dor Company of Israel, San Francisco Dance Spectrum in SF, on German National TV, and my own Espiritair Dance Company in New York City. At the United Nations, I choreographed a dance bringing Russian and American children together.
