Introduction: I utilize all the tools in my toolkit to help my clients achieve what they are after, including Pilates, bodybuilding/sculpting techniques with weights, HIIT and aerobics, interwoven with therapeutic and Feldenkrais exercises. I apply my knowledge gleaned from years of working to transform my own body, navigating a variety of challenging obstacles including a battle with chronic illness, which has become one of my greatest teachers. To that end, I offer three programs, which are as follows: 1) Purely Pilates: For people who are looking to build a long, toned, dancer-like physique, want a more thoughtful weight-bearing exercise, are post-injury and want to prevent further injury or want to work on balance issues 2) Pilates plus Weights: In addition to Pilates, this includes building muscle mass in target areas. This is especially beneficial for people over 40, people who desire to change the muscular proportion of their bodies, and for osteoporosis, as it combines two of the three necessary challenges for bone health. 3) Pilates plus Weights and HIIT: This intersperses Pilates, weight training and intervals of aerobic activity, keeping the heart rate up at varying intervals for 55 minutes. This is for people who want a dynamic and challenging fat-burning program. This provides the three challenges bones need to prevent osteoporosis. Transformation excites me. Being an agent of change, not just physically but also energetically (as I have witnessed Pilates facilitate again and again), is what drives me to deeply invest in helping my clients reach their goals. I love seeing my clients glow after their sessions, as they feel the difference between when they enter and when they leave. I have always loved helping people and see Pilates and healthy movement as a powerful way to be of service.

I have taken A LOT of Pilates classes but it was not until I started to work with Michal one-on-one that I really began to grasp the way the exercises were supposed to feel. Every week, I leave feeling lifted and stronger with a deeper connection to and understanding of my body and the way it is designed to move in balance. Each session I learn something new and not just intellectually but kinesthetically---the difference in lifting from my shoulder blades or dropping my sternum into alignment---it feels like learning how to really drive a car after only ever shoving along in second gear. Michal crafts each training session to serve my individual needs. She is extremely knowledgeable and attentive and her focused cues and spotting make sure I am doing every part correctly and working to my limits.(With lots of positive reinforcement which helps too). Our work is mostly Pilates but she also integrates different modalities depending on what results I want. She is really good about shaping a program around an existing injury and making sure I never push too far. She also gives me stretches and exercises to practice at home to help correct imbalances, and techniques to use at work and prevent further injuries. I always feel like my whole person is being strengthened when I work with Michal---she doesn't shy away from the mind-body-emotion connection that Pilates offers and at times she feels to me as much a healer as a trainer. She brings a lot of dedication, humor and soul and I feel so lucky to have found her!

Are you looking for an excuse to buy a new wardrobe? After six months working with Michal you will need one. The combination of her background in personal training and Pilates, will not only improve your posture and body shape, but also drop you a size or so. Michal is fun to work with and always very encouraging and just the right level of energy to keep you going through a challenging workout. My personal experience with Michal has been great. I am a pretty big guy, 235 lbs, 6’ tall. I regularly have people tell me I look 20 lbs. lighter than I actually am. This is a combination of the great shape my core is in, along with the improved posture from Pilates. So go see Michal and start thinking about that new wardrobe. -Patrick R.

Michal is a very generous teacher. Very detailed, connected & thorough. I learned a lot, training with her & laughed a bunch while toning my abs & increasing core strength. Her intake process was spot on & I learned about my body's strengths & weaknesses which we quickly worked to balance.

    Pricing For ALL Programs: *Individual session: $80 *Packages: $750 for 10 sessions *Duets: $40 per person *Introductory Special: $50 *Sessions include: Fitness assessment sheet used to measure and track specific benchmarks such as posture, core strength, flexibility. Can include before/after pics at your discretion.

    Training and Experience: Certified Pilates Teacher Fitness Trainer Certified Teacher Aerobics and Calisthenics, Jack LaLanne Health Spas My movement experience began as a dancer and swimmer, but what really sparked my passion for fitness was when, at age 16, I became a certified instructor at Jack La Lanne Health Spas, working at various locations at Queens, NY. Later I went on to work at the famed Vertical Club Health Spa where I had the honor of teaching beside top trainers of such celebrities as Brooke Shields and David Bowie. A few years later I took all I learned and competed in the Ms. Massachusetts Amateur Bodybuilding Championship. My other endeavors include having managed a multi-sports facility and later owning my own personal training business in San Francisco. I feel what sets me apart as a teacher is that progress never came easy for me. Rehabilitating through a chronic illness has given me a resourcefulness, and wisdom that I may not have otherwise had, one that I willingly pass on through my teaching.
