We have professional highly trained movers and professional equipment from the trucks and trailers to the moving supplies that we bring to every job. We have our own self storage facility. We offer crating and packing. We love helping to create solutions for our customers. We know that moving is stressful regardless if it is just a few items, an entire household or office. Now that we are professionals, I have decided to make sure we take the pain out of the move as much as we humanly can.

    Not impressed
Showed up with one truck, two men when there was supposed to be two trucks, five men. Took three days to complete and have not heard anything about when they are going to come repair the damages to our wall and stairs.

Kudos to Sugar Land Moving & Storage
Their service was excellent. Their price point was right on. They were on time, handled my prize possessions with care. My three movers (Paul, Juan & Eric) worked together as a team to accomplish all tasks. I would definitely recommend them. Zeke coordinated all efforts from office, came to my house prior to move to give me a very fair bid. It was a very pleasurable experience all around.

Sugar Land moving and Storage were great
The 2 men arrived on time and quickly went to work in a very professional and efficient way. They were knowledgeable and very careful with our belongings. My husband and I will call them when we move and feel their pricing was quite reasonable.

    Stress free experience!
The movers, Paul and Juan, were very professional and considerate of the furniture that they were moving. They were strategic in the move to maximize the efficiency of the truck's capacity as well as time. The owner, Zeke, was also very professional and courteous. He provided a courteous reminder of the upcoming move as he said he would. Moves are always stressful; Sugar Land Moving & Storage helped mitigate that stress. Definitely would hire them for future moves in the area.
    David F. Mar 6, 2017

Thank you for the kind words Linh! We are continually striving to deliver an exceptional moving experience for our customers. We are happy we helped make your move as stress free as possible. Enjoy your new home and thanks again! Zeke Adair

Very timely and easy to work with
We had to have a 48 year old piano moved with very little notice. This company was amazing with working with us. Would definitely recommend them.

    Blown Away!
Timely, Organized, and careful are the words I use to describe this company and the people they employ, which are not typically words I have used to describe moving companies in the past. I called Sugar Land Moving to move our office from Main St in Houston to McGowen St the the day before in a pinch and the movers showed up that following morning early and ready to work! Not a single item was damaged and everything was moved within the same day! I will absolutely be using them for all future moves to come!

Was told my belongings were 'fully insured'. When they dropped my glass entertainment center off the back of their truck I was told that they would 'take care of it' come to find out my stuff was not fully insured and they wanted to pay me 60 cents a pound. So when they told me they were 'fully insured' what they meant was they carry the bare minimum that is legally allowed.

Dear Nik, Our sincere apologies for damaging your glass top. Delivering an exceptional customer experience is our number one priority and we regret any instance where a customer is less than completely satisfied. To help ensure that we deliver that exceptional experience, we maintain rigorous product and service quality procedures that are consistently monitored and refreshed. Nevertheless, we take every customer concern seriously and work hard to ensure that when issues do arise, we do everything we can to make things right. That is what we have sought to do with this customer. We actually paid more than what he chose as valuation and also made a contribution to The Wounded Warriors Foundation on his behalf after he suggested we do so.We are humbled by the trust our customers have placed in us for all these years and work hard every day to continue to be worthy of that trust... Bravo - A Pleasnt Move
I'm estatic about this move as I was dreading it. We've live in the same house 32 years. Sugar Land Movers had three capable young men who cared for our belongings better than I expected and everything arrived perfectly. Bravo

Of all our moved (and yes, we've done a lot), these guys were the BEST!
We had a wonderful experience with this company! Amazing service! I Loved that they are a local company, too! No getting lost in the shuffle with large corporations who are just trying to make certain numbers and don't care about you on a personal level. We were thrilled with the level of customer service we received! They serviced us a temporary move just outside of Texas, and we will definitely be using them when we are on to our next re-loaction. Incredible value for the service and security we received.

Houston Texas to Birmingham Alabama four-bedroom house
I heard this company because they came in with a pretty aggressive price. And I was pleasantly surprised that they came in and a beautiful truck it was full of all the moving equipment I could imagine the crew was professional they all wore shirts reflecting the name of the company and they did a fantastic job all of my furniture was wrapped in moving blankets and loaded pretty tightly in the truck. We moved from near downtown Houston to Birmingham Alabama they arrived about half a day early as compared to what they thought they would arrive and they unloaded everything and put it exactly where my wife wanted it. We had an opportunity to unpack everything there is no damage at all everything was very professional and we couldn't be more pleased. I never do reviews or surveys but in all reality these guys underbid the job I did not expect this type of a professional moving company at the price that they provided.

    Excellent company, Highly Recommended
Moving from our four bedroom house to a condo with some of out possessions into storage at their storage facility. Very competative and very efficient... the move went well! They took care to wrap everything in moving blankets and nothing was damaged.

    Uhaul rental
My family rented a Uhaul truck in Houston in August from Voss Rd. Storage and drove to Olympia, WA. The truck was great... Clean, well- running, good tires, and the service was very professional and organized. They made our moving experience so much easier and smoother. I would definitely rent from they again in a heartbeat!

    Move less than satisfactory
I was partially satisfied with my move. I was promised a call the day before to state the approximate time for my move. I had to call the day of the move to confirm the time. I was told that I would receive a call at lunch to confirm the exact time. That call never came...the movers just showed up. Luckily I had just made it to the house to let them in. One of the movers was sick (constantly coughing without covering his mouth). The other mover damaged one of my walls and tried to deny it. I signed paperwork for the company tom come out and repair the damage within the next two days. They never called...never showed. I had to repair the damage myself since we were about to close on the same of the house. I had to make 2 stops and the movers did not pay attention to when I explained everything that was to come off the truck at the 1st stop. They had to move everything around to get to the item at the 1st stop...taking extra time. Due to the mover that was sick, the job took a lot longer that it should have. I once had a 5 bedroom house that took 4 hours to pack and move to the new location. This time I had the equivalent of a 2 bedroom apartment minus a dinette and furniture for one of the bedrooms. The move took 5 1/2 hours. Due to the lack of follow up on the damage and sending a sick worker to move me, I cannot recommend this company to anyone.
    David F. Nov 17, 2016

very sorry that one of the movers was getting sick.... I applaud the mover for coming and doing the job as a crew lead, that was indeed leadership although he had to call in sick the next few days. Sometimes getting sick is uncontrollable. Regarding your wall, I had just received notification about it and was told that you would contact me directly in the claims dept. not the dispatcher but no notification was made. If there is anything I can do to make you happy, please contact me directly at 281-994-7013 and ask for David Fisher and I will personally attend to your reasonable request.

PLEASE DO NOT HIRE SUGARLAND MOVING AND STORAGE
Please if you are reading this do not hire Sugar Land Moving & Storage for your move. This review of our moving experience which will save you time money stress and energy. Moving is already a stressful situation by itself therefore do yourself a favor and look for more professional competent companies. First of all they got there truck's lift-gate stuck on my driveway due to poor communication from there staff and proceeded to gouge the driveway with several 6 foot long scratches(See attached). They also did not wrap any of our items and damaged our refrigerator(See attached). We instructed them to not take it thru the front door and proceeded instead which caused scratches & dents to the stainless steel doors. The owner personally just hung up on me and denied our claim. I will be filing complaints with the BBB, Thumbtack, Dept of Transportation and if necessary take them to small claims court to recover the damages owed. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED THIS COMPANY IS COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT
    David F. Nov 15, 2016

We have been trying to work with this customer. Our Bill of Lading offers an amount to pay for damages, we offered this amount and he wants more. He threatens bad reviews because he is aware that could only be his way of getting more money but that is a bad method of doing business. Sugar Land Moving & Storage has one of the lowest claims percentages in the industry. We have great clients but some you can just never make happy. I have personally spent an extraordinary amount of time with this client but I am just hitting a brick wall. Essentially he wants to have his move for free plus then some. He signed a statement that the only damage was the scratches in his driveway which were something that we could easily remedy but now he has come back with a list. We made sure that we walked through the job site after the move was completed and noted no damage and he signed the bill of lading stating this. Personally I feel threatening to leave bad reviews is poor form. The Department of Transportation, BBB and others including small claims court would only refer to the agreement he signed and would agree we have been more than fair with him. Even still, I offered him above and beyond what his agreement called for and he still was not satisfied, I do not kow what I can do more for him.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
we base our rates at $120 per hour for a two man crew before discounts.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We can provide an online, on the phone or in-person estimate. We provide written binding estimates based on the specified inventory or hourly.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our movers are AMSA CMA Certified (trained) on-house. Our movers and packers are very experienced, safe and cautious insuring a good move!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
We started by owning a self storage facility and having had many people request moving services, we spun off our moving company.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We do a lot with restoration companies such as Servpro, we handle moves from apartment relocation, household relocation to large office moves. Our customers include Servpro, many great individuals traveling around Houston, around Texas, Florida, California, Colorado, to international.. David Weekly Homes, Exxon, Schlumberger and others.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We were called by Servpro in the middle of the night to go and get the contents of a house that had a fire. There was smoke damage. We got there (League City Texas) just as the fire-fighters were leaving. The family was still there - very frightened. The fire was isolated to the master bedroom, no injuries! We moved out all of the furniture to the Servpro warehouse and within a month, we had the opportunity to move back in that family into a house that looked brand new and nothing smelled like smoke, including the furnishings! The family was delighted and so were we. This is not the first example of this, but the most recent.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be sure they are insured... be sure they have a tariff. Be sure they are professional, uniformed (even if it is just a T-Shirt that says the company name). Be sure they have a bill of lading.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
1. how long has the company been in business? 2. what equipment does the company bring to each job site (hint: professional moving truck), dollies (multiple), pads (min. 50 - 100), plastic wrap (should be at no charge). 3. claim process? (because accidents do happen) Tell them you MUST see their cargo insurance).. 4. does the mover provide for additional insurance (because that .60 cents per pound does not pay for much) 5. does the mover have licensing through USDOT and TX DMV? 6. Are the movers trained and if so, how are they trained? 7. is the mover a member of AMSA ? Are they members of South West Movers Association? (get a mover who is held accountable)
