In the brief time i've spent with Mike, he revealed a dedicated craftsmanship of his abilities and education as a music professional. He's knowledgeable, courteous, encouraging, and understanding/flexible. If you're looking for someone who understands the pedagogy of guitar on a professional level, Mike is your guy.Aug 13, 2018Verified
Unfortunately, it wasn't the right time for me to dedicate my time to learning guitar; however, the few sessions that I spent with Mike were AWESOME! He was very enthusiastic and attentive - it's very obvious that Mike cares about his students' performance. He assigned relatable, enjoyable, homework and was always available for questions. Highly recommend!Feb 21, 2018Verified
Learning anything new sucks; and sitting through lessons, is worse. I look forward to my weekly lesson with Mike. He is very relaxed, and extremely patient, has a good sense of humor, and is quickly able to find a work around for big hands and, fat fingers.Jun 14, 2017Verified
I have been taking lessons from Mike for about a month now and it has been a fantastic experience so far. I have taken years of lessons in the past from multiple instructors and none of them can even almost compare to the knowledge and passion that Mike brings into every lesson. It is alot of fun to learn from someone who so clearly is doing what he loves and I truly look forward to learning so much more from him!Jun 12, 2017Verified
So far, so good. We have yet to meet but he seems to be the type of person that will be great to work with!May 10, 2017Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?$65/hour-long lessons at my home studio. In my 14 years of teaching, I've noticed vastly superior results with hour-long lessons; with shorter lessons, we often run out of time due to the amount of information and technique work required to really see progress.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Every first lesson is unique! We all learn differently, and this is a chance for me to see where you are musically. If you're a brand-new guitarist (and congratulations!), I'll start you with basics, with an eye on how to get you playing music you want to learn, too. My goal is to make concepts easy to digest, and to make this as easy as possible. If you've got experience with guitar, we'll discover what's working and what's not, and we'll go from there!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?MMus in Classical Guitar, MMus in Composition, MMus in Jazz Studies, BA in Classical Guitar
