Introduction: Lucia has a degree in Food and Nutrition as well as a professional chef. With all the nutrition information constantly changing, it can be confusing what you should and should not be eating. I like to keep things real as well as simple. Nutrition should not be complicated. I feel that empowering people with the knowledge of food and how their body works, you can take charge of their health and possible not reply on medication for some of your health issues. Just as every person is different, I believe every health plan should be different so that it fits your goals, lifestyle and expectations. I also provide Corporate nutritional education as well as cooking "Lunch and Learn" team building events. I have been on KCRA for 4 1/2 years as well s Good Day Sacramento. I also have been teaching at The Sacramento Natural Foods Coop for almost 10 years. I enjoy being able to share how simple and easy it is to change a lifestyle of unhealthy habits with healthy ones. I teach people how cooking can be fun and enjoyable not to mention very tasty. The best part is that I am with you on your journey so you will never feel alone.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I have a Bachelor of Science, Food and Nutrition degree for California State University, Sacramento. Owned a catering business for six years, La Cucina Italiana Catering. Regular on KCRA for four and half years with monthly cooking segments and now currently on Good Day Sacramento. I have been teaching cooking classes at the Sacramento Natural Food Coop. I do a lot of community outreach program on nutrition as well as consult with clients on health issues, weight concerns, learning how to cook healthier and so on. Perform corporate motivational speaking on health as well in offer corporate team building cooking events.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    I have always loved to cook and wanted to study the foundation of food and its molecular makeup and how it interacts with our body. I feel that you can heal through most ailments when you have the knowledge and power of food can do for your body. As someone who has had Multiple Sclerosis for 30 years, I am not on medication, I have been able to continue leading a normal life with just few adjustments,
