FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do not i base my price on how much work its going to be. In my experience standard pricing closes doors on doing things in different ways that appeal to the customer and are really expensive or cut rate to be able to meet a price bid low to just get the work.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first meet my customer and listen to basics of what they want to do. I love what I do so I usually will give some fun ideas. But ultimately give them what they want. I explain the process of doing things in different ways. Most people have a budget so some times things have to be done in a way to accomodate that. Some people want it done right and to the highest quality, such as taking doors off site to a clean room to do paint or finish but are willing to pay. Some right in the middle. So i try to give them options to suit them. I give a price for labor only and i usually have the customer buy the supplies on a phone sale and have all reciepts emailed to them so they know exaxtly how much the supplies cost and im not upcharging and its understood exactly how much money im making. I get half the money up front for labor and the other half upon completion.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Ive grown up around the trades business. I took building trades in highschool, one in my 20s and latter attended the building trade program thru Southwest Carpenters Union. Although the work has been the biggest teacher learning new things all the time and loving it. Cant leave out Youtube!
