Though I took singing lessons in high school and college, I had not been singing for about ten years when I found Sarah through Thumbtack. My goal was to get my voice back to where it used to be. After only a few lessons with Sarah, I already hear noticeable progress. I enjoy Sarah's structured approach to teaching voice. She is very encouraging during lessons while also giving constructive feedback. I've already learned many valuable tools that I can use to improve my singing and am excited to continue to improve my vocal skills through Sarah's teaching.

About this pro

Dual Certified (vocal and instrumental) in four states and graduating summa cum in both my graduate and undergraduate careers, I have over eighteen years of experience in teaching voice. The 'ah ha' moments when my students realize that even though they may not become a professional in their desired musical outlet, they can find a deeper sense of their better selves to give in every facet of their lives.

    Q & A

    • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
If the student prefers a 30 minute lesson, I charge $30. For a 60 minute lesson, $60. There is also a charge for any music and incidentals and an annual $10 processing fee for book keeping and printing costs.
    • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to listen to the goals and passions of the student. We find a path for them to achieve their goals together, creating attainable mini-goals along the way.
    • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a master's degree in vocal performance and my undergraduate degree is dual certification as choral and instrumental teacher for K-12 institutions. I have also taught at the university level.
