Janine Stanley

Introduction: Janine Stanley is an Arizona, board certified, licensed professional counselor (LPC). She is a certified trainer for the Nurtured Heart Approach to Parenting. She earned her BA (2001) in Deaf Education and Elementary Education from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. After being in the education field and finding that her passion was in helping families, in addition to students, she later earned her MS (2009) in Mental Health Counseling. Janine's work experience has included working with challenging children in crisis centers, group homes, and residential treatment centers, as well as outpatient and community mental health. She has developed programs to help adults who have children with behavioral difficulties, to include small groups in the following areas: * Active Parenting * Anger Management * Learning to Love Myself (group for young girls, substance abuse for teens, Nurtured Heart workshops and "I'm Safe" classes, helping people learn to overcome their anxiety to feel safe and secure). Additionally, Janine has experience providing intensive in-home therapy and parental coaching with the Nurtured Heart Approach as the foundation of her work. Janine's extensive knowledge of the school system provides parents support to understand the special education child. She is familiar with the federal guidelines and the importance of teaching parents to be their child's advocate during the IEP process. Janine specializes in counseling for children, adults, couples and families. She offers individual and group sessions. Other services include court-ordered supervised visitations, parent coaching in home or in office, as well as school and community trainings. Janine enjoys working with a variety of clients in the areas of mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, relationship issues, trauma, grief and loss counseling. Janine is solution-focused and passionate about helping clients learn to enjoy life.
