I live on acre and have had a chronic roach problem no matter what I sprayed. When we would receive irrigation, there would became grand exodus of roaches from under the patio pool area. Yesterday was our first irrigation after First Inspection Termite and Pest completed their service. YEAH!!!!!! NOT ONE ROACH SIGHTING!!!!!! I would highly recommended this company!

Very prompt. Did a good job getting rid of the ants. Still waiting for them to come back and spray for roaches. Wish they could've done both at same time.

I have them come over to exterminate ticks and cockroaches. It killed all the roaches but the ticks are still crawling. I think he needed to use stronger spray.

Wes, West Coast Pest Control, provides extremely professional services at a great cost. He helped my single mom and I through a bed bug scare, and was not only very knowledgeable, but an honest, hard working, and nice/friendly individual. He was able to come to our home the very next day and showed up right on time, even a bit early. He checked our bedroom and found no signs of bed bugs, but some spiders. He would have offered a cheaper service fee than originally quoted since he did not have to exterminate for bed bugs, but for the original quote of $120 he examined everything, sprayed our entire house (interior and exterior) with an insecticide for the spiders (and virtually all bugs), and even used special spray on my suitcase, etc. He gave us peace of mind that the bugs will be gone and not to worry! If I were to ever have to hire a pest control professional again, I would hire Wes with West Coast Pest Control in a heart beat. BEWARE OF OTHER PEST CONTROL COMPANIES TRYING TO CHARGE YOU HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS I can't recommend Wes highly enough. Do yourself a favor and give him a call when in need! Thanks again, Wes and the West Coast Pest Control team!! -Heather

Hiring John to do this job was the best decision I could have made! This was a nightmarish situation; a rental that was vacated by tenants who left it beyond filthy and cockroach infested. Neither John nor I had ever seen anything that bad. But he was up to the challenge, armed with 4 different types of chemicals - he spent 3 hours spraying every square inch of this house, and every nook, cranny and crevice. And God bless him - he even vacuumed up all the roaches that were already dead or dying. I cannot say enough good about him and his outstanding professionalism. Thankful to have found him on Thumbtack.

Everything was great; however, we didn't notice any termites or bug infestations to begin with. We only noticed some ants w/wings inside, small roaches perhaps, and that was about it.

Jared services our house Justin after we had our sewer line replaced to address the roach problem we were experiencing. Jared arrived on time discussed the treatment plan and got to work. He explained what he was doing and answered any question I had and was happy to answer them. He took extra caution and reassured me that the chemicals used were pet friendly too. I absolutely recommend Jared and Peacock Pest Solutions for servicing your pest problems.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What do pest control companies do?

Pest control companies handle all aspects of bug, rodent and animal extermination or removal. Pest control professionals visit your home or office to identify the type of pest that is troubling you and offer various treatment plans — complete with clearly outlined costs. Once you and the pest control company have a signed agreement, the pro will begin treatment. Pest treatment can range from the use of spray pesticides and gel bait to live and/or kill traps. There are a wide range of types of pesticides, many of them nontoxic for humans and other small animals. This means you may be able to have your home treated for pests without harming nearby wildlife or your dog and cat. The pest control pro will carry out the treatment plan and, depending on the service agreement, provide follow-up such as emptying traps, inspecting access points, or reapplying pesticide spray if the pests return. Costs will vary based on the type of pest you are having removed and the extent of the infestation. The average national pest control price range is $80-$130. From a minor bedbug event to an entire home termite infestation, pest control companies have got you covered.

How much does it cost to remove a mouse?

If you have a mouse in your house you’re probably quickly researching pest control costs. Mice, although tiny, can transmit diseases and also get into your food and leave unsanitary droppings around your home. If you have seen one mouse in your house, it’s likely that more have taken up residence in your crawl space, attic or basement. The national average pest control cost is $150-$200. Costs can vary depending on whether you need to get rid of a population of living mice or just dispose of a dead mouse (or full traps), how extensive the mouse population is, and where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pest control cost for removing a mouse:

  • $150 for initial trap setup and inspection (and sealing of entry holes).
    • $50 for rodent removal service calls and emptying of traps. This visit can also include identifying and sealing entry points that were not sealed on the first visit.
  • Rodent extermination: $110-$350, depending on how heavy the rodent population is, whether the mouse infestation poses health risks, how many entrances exist and how many rodent bait stations are needed.

How much does it cost for a pest control service?

Whether you need to get rid of bugs or rodents, pest removal professionals can be lifesaving when you have an infestation. Pest control prices will vary based on what type of pest is being removed. The national pest control price range is $80-$130, although prices can be much higher for tasks like wildlife removal (raccoons, bobcats, etc.), which might start at $250 and exceed $500, depending on the animal and the trapping measures required.

The cost of eliminating a termite colony ranges on average from $240 to $400, but these costs can increase greatly if the whole house is infested. The average cost to kill cockroaches is between $80 and $130, while bedbug extermination ranges from $320 to $400 on average. The main factors that will affect your pest control price are the type of pest, the extent of the infestation, the accessibility of the infested areas, and the type of treatment required.

How much does it cost to get rid of cockroaches?

Cockroaches are not only ugly, they are difficult to get rid of. Quick and resilient, they can be hard to get rid of without professional help once they have inhabited a house. Nationally, the average range for cockroach pest control cost is $80-$130. Extermination professionals typically provide a free estimate to determine the extent of the infestation. They’ll check for the main sources of the bugs, identify bug access and entry points into your home, and determine the best method for elimination. There are a variety of cockroach extermination tools including gel baits and traps, pesticide foggers, desiccants (which dry out the cockroaches), neurotoxins, and other pesticides. Pest control costs can also cover preventive measures like regular spraying and trap maintenance. Some regions of the country are much more prone to cockroach problems than others, so pest control costs may need to be part of your quarterly budget. Cockroaches love dark, humid, and warm areas and water sources, so place traps near your washer and dryer and under your sinks.

How much does it cost to treat a house for termites?

Termites are not only creepy-crawly, they can literally eat your house out from underneath you. Termites feed on damp and dry wood and can chomp through your house at an alarming rate. The national average pest control cost for termite extermination is $240-$400. Treatment costs can be higher for an extensive infestation. Here are some examples of average pest control costs for termites:

  • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: $3-$4 per linear foot.
    • For $75 per year, a company may offer a maintenance plan that provides inspection of the property and renewal of the warranty.
  • Liquid treatment of subterranean termites: approximately $400 for a 2,000-square-foot home at $3-$5 per linear foot.
    • The price is higher for additional work such as foaming and drilling inside of concrete slabs.
  • Fumigation treatment of drywood termites: $1,200-$1,500 for a 30,000- to 35,000-cubic-foot home
    • Fumigation is measured in cubic feet because it fills the airspace of the home and infiltrates the wood that the termites may be colonizing. The cost of fumigation is affected by the number of levels in the home as well as the square footage.
