I couldn't be happier with the service I received from Cindi and Hap-E-Tails mobile pet grooming. Cindi arrived right on time and my dog Lily loved her! Usually Lily is very nervous with groomers, but Cindi was kind and easy going with her and my dog came out of the grooming with a great new opinion of being groomed! Thanks Cindi!!! Will Call you every time we need a grooming done! Telling all of my friends as well!!!

This is the first time we tried mobile pet grooming and it will definitely not be our last. Lance was wonderful with our dogs and we couldn't be happier with the job he did. I highly recommend him for anyone in the market for a mobile pet grooming service.

She is very dependable, if we have to go somewhere, we can count on her to attempt to rearrange her schedule so that she can be here for us. She has always taken very good care of our pets and probably gives them more attention and affection than we do. She does the grooming whenever it is needed at very little additional cost and her prices are very reasonable!

She'said been grooming our golden doodle every 5 weeks for over the past two years. She's gotten our pooch cleaner than any other grooming he's ever had. The style she does is so cute and his fur is incredibly soft as she says she doesn't even use conditioner. She is very resonable with no unexpected extra fees. She also house sits for us from time to time, also very reasonaby priced and always goes above and beyond her duties. I would recommend this company that supports this rescue to anyone.

Sam did a wonderful job grooming my Australian Shepherds. They are 10 year old brother & sister and were a bit traumatized with their previous grooming at PetsMart so we chose to have them groomed at our home. Sam took both dogs together so they could get to know her and wouldn't be stressed by being separated. She bathed, brushed, dried and trimmed them beautifully and did their nails. They are so soft and fluffy and smell wonderful. Thanks Sam. We will definitely recommend you to all our family and friends.

Diana was excellent! I sent an email requesting more info on her website and in less than 24 hours she contacted me to setup a time to meet. When we met she was through and took notes about all the needs I had for my cat. She sent me pictures during my trip to help me feel more comfortable and kept me in the loop! This was my first time using an in-home pet care service and I highly recommend it. My cat didn't have to suffer through the stress of traveling, a new place and other animals. Diana was professional and I felt completely comfortable having her take care of my cat.

Tricia is really an amazing asset to our family. We hired Tricia to pet/house sit while we were out of town and we couldn't be happier! Tricia lovingly took care of our two dogs, two cats and my sons 2 dogs! She had her hands full and all went wonderfully. Tricia sent pictures of our babies all weekend long, took great care of everything, left the house clean which by the way we are in the midst of a big kitchen remodel so things were not exactly easy and she stayed here which added much comfort to us being gone! I highly recommend Tricia to everyone!

I have worked with animals my entire life and could dream of nothing else. I can get the most stubborn animal to take a bath or walk without pulling. I love animals and animals love me. If you're looking for a hardworker to get the job done, there's no need to look any further. I look forward to speaking with you.

I provide pet sitting services for dogs of all breeds and sizes. I am an owner of 6 Corgies myself and I have learned about how to take care of animals with every day that I spent caring for them. To me, caring for animals is not rocket science. It is a profession that requires you opening your heart so that you could truly feel and provide what the animals need. They do not have a way to talk so being sensitive and observant to their behavior is of utmost importance. Aside from dogs, I could also take care of rabbits. I can follow your schedule in feeding your pets, playing with them, cleaning their mess, and I could give them a delightful belly rub for you.

I am a very hard worker, not the giving up type. I can take care of animals, give vocal lessons, and teach how to play instruments. No matter what the job I do, what I can make sure is I do it right.

I've been working with animal's for over 15 years and have been around dogs and cats before I could walk. There just not pets, there family :) and I would want someone to take care of my babies the way I take care of them.

I do a good job cleaning your house and am really fast. I am really good with pets. I can babysit too.

what makes my service great is me I love animals I have work with animals for about 2 years now .I like to know that the animals I take care of are happy

Hello! I'm a teen. I'm trying to start saving up for college. I have grown up with animals all my life and was raised with friends whom all had farms. I can do anything from dog walking to pet sitting.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is included in a dog grooming?

Dog grooming is so much more than giving your dog a bath. Dog grooming is a broad term that covers all aspects of canine cleanliness and hygiene. The services included in dog grooming will vary based on your needs and what you choose to pay. Unless they are rolling in cowpies or playing in mud puddles, most dogs are okay getting a shampoo bath only as needed. You’ll know when they need it if they smell bad or are bringing dirt into the house. Some dogs, like shepherds and shih tzus, have thick coats that can get matted and tangled without regular care. Pro dog groomers can deftly blow dry a dog’s hair after a bath so that it is shiny and smooth. Dog grooming can include brushing that detangles dog hair and also thins the undercoat to minimize shedding.

Dog grooming also includes hygiene services such as toothbrushing and ear cleaning. Clean teeth are important to the health of your dog, and the pros have the patience and proper technique to get it done. Regular dog grooming can stave off tear stains, those reddish stains below your dog’s eyes. Anal gland expression is something not many people want to do on their own, even if they love their dog. A dog groomer can safely and efficiently release any blocked anal gland fluid. Other dog grooming services include nail trimming and clipping. Nationally, dog grooming prices range from $60 to $80. Most dog groomers offer discounts to customers who purchase monthly packages or bundle multiple grooming services at one time.

Do cats have to get groomed?

It’s not crazy to have your cat groomed. Grooming will keep your cat’s fur soft and silky as well as give you early warning about any health concerns. Regular grooming can also help reduce the volume of hair your cat may be shedding and keep your longhair kitty cool if you live in a warm climate. Professionals competently groom your cat and are trained to manage them if they resist being groomed, while you may get scratched doing the same task. The national average price for cat grooming is $50-$70. Pet grooming prices may vary based on the task. For example, a bath and brush for shorthair cats may be $15, $20 for medium-hair cats, and $25 for a longhair. Cat groomers can also keep your cat’s ears cleaned, trim their nails, and provide haircuts if needed. Average prices for haircuts can vary from $30 to $95 or more, depending on whether the cat is shy or aggressive and whether their coat is in good condition, matted, or otherwise difficult to groom.

What is a dog groomer?

A dog groomer is a service professional who provides dog grooming and basic hygiene care for your dog. Dog groomers are typically animal lovers who are competent and comfortable working with a wide range of dog breeds and temperaments. Dog groomers are knowledgeable about the care needs for different kinds of dog coats. A poodle will have different haircut needs than a shih tzu, for example, so it pays to have a trained pro provide the proper cut. Good dog groomers know how to safely clean your dog’s teeth, bathe your dog, and cut their nails without going too short. They understand how to trim the hair from around your dog’s face, express anal glands, and clean your dog’s ears. Many people who choose dog grooming as a profession also pursue other dog services such as attending veterinary school, running a doggy day care center, working as a professional dog walker, and more.

What is a dog groomer?

Keep your family dogs happy, healthy and clean with regular dog grooming. A dog groomer is a business owner or employee of a dog grooming business who specializes in dog hygiene and grooming. To find a reputable dog groomer, research reviews, ask for references and confirm that the groomer has good standing in the dog grooming community.

A dog groomer should be comfortable and competent working with dogs of all breeds and temperaments. Typically a groomer will have trained with other groomers and taken educational courses to keep abreast of the latest safety information and techniques. There are brick-and-mortar dog grooming businesses, as well as mobile dog groomers who bring all their equipment and provide their services at your home or location. In some cases, brick-and-mortar businesses will also pick up and return your dog for an additional fee.

How much should cat grooming cost?

Keeping your cat groomed is an important part of maintaining their good health. The national average cost for cat grooming ranges between $50 and $70, with prices varying based on where you live and the services you request. Your cat’s temperament can also affect grooming prices. Scratching and hissing during a groomer visit can raise rates an average of $5-$10, or more, as hazard pay. Larger cats and long-haired cats that take longer to groom will also usually cost more. Here are some examples of cat grooming average costs:

  • Shave down or lion cut: $35-$60. These cuts preserve the hair around the face and tip of the tail but shave down the entire body. The lion cut is often recommended for extremely matted hair is exceedingly matted, for extreme heat, or for cats who are suffering from hairballs.
  • Ear cleaning and nail trim: $30.
  • Nail trim: $10-$15.
  • Bath and nail trim: $45.
  • Bath and sanitary trim: $55. A sanitary trim clips the hair on a cat’s behind to prevent fecal matting in longhair cats or cats that have mobility issues.
  • Bath, blow-dry, brush out, nail trim and ear cleaning: $40.
  • Full haircut, bath, and nail trim: $45-$95, depending on matting.
