I had Ultimate Floor Care come to my home to clean 4 bedrooms. The owner/tech was on time, pleasant and fast. He did a great job and in a little over an hour my carpets looked like new. It was amazing. I didn't get that result with the last carpet cleaner I had. The price was right and now I know I don't have to look up carpet cleaners in the future when I need one.

Dora did an amazing job! The only thing I believe could've been a little better was the cleaning of the shower door but from experience I understand that they're a pain to get completely clean (so I don't really blame her for it) I will definitely be hiring her again and have already recommended her to a few of my co workers looking for cleaning assistance. Her rates are also great and the best I've found out there so far which is the reason I decided to go with her in the first place and now that I realized she deep cleaned amazingly I'll definitely be hiring her every single time I need someone in the future. I've hired over priced people in the past who didn't do as good of a job as she did.

Allen was very prompt in his communication. I like that he clearly set expectations and had a sheet explaining exactly what they would be doing. The 3 maids showed up in the time block I was told. The ladies seemed very young and a bit immature. The job itself seemed very rushed. They ran out of floor cleaner so they couldn't finish our floors. We found a dirty rag left in the bottom of our shower. The wood shutters were cleaned but left in disarray. Our kitchen table was not cleaned.

Twylia and her crew came through and cleaned my home prior to moving out and absolutely blew my expectations away. They stayed long to get the job done and my home had never been cleaner. I had hired her for a one time cleaning but have every intention of using her on a regular basis. Thank you again!

Daniel Kelley was great. My carpets in my 6000 square foot home were very dirty, and he brought back the carpets back to looking like new. Even when I had a problem with the carpets drying properly, he returned on a Sunday to work all day to ensure I was happy and go over them with disinfectant and deodorant. I can't recommend him enough, this is the first time in 20 years I've been happy with the outcome of a carpet cleaner.

Thanks for the last minute cleaning! Melissa did an excellent job. She was quick and efficient. I was happy the company could schedule the job on short notice (the night before) but was a little disappointed since I needed the job finished in time for a walk-through and was told 2 cleaners would have no trouble meeting that time requirement but only one cleaner was sent. Overall a satisfying experience but would have preferred better communication in the beginning.

CHOOSE THIS GUY! Look no further, because Armando at Happy Wand is the guy you want to hire to clean your carpet and tile! I initially hired Armando to clean and seal the grout in my tile. He did a great job. It just so happened that the day before, I had hired someone else on Thumbtack (with very good reviews) to clean all the carpeted areas in my house. This other guy did not use a steam machine but instead sprayed some chemical and then scrubbed the carpet with a floor buffer with a pad attachment. When Armando arrived at my house to clean my grout, he asked if I needed any carpet cleaning, and he was surprised when I told him I had just had my carpet cleaned the day before. He noticed that the carpet didn't look fully clean, and he steam cleaned a couple of my stairs (which had just been cleaned by the other guy the day before) to show me that he could get the carpet cleaner. What a difference in Armando's cleaning and the other guy! The improvement was immediately noticeable! So, for a VERY reasonable price, Armando steam cleaned my stairs, hallway, and family room. The results were fantastic! Keep in mind that all these areas had been cleaned by someone else just 24 hours prior, but the improvement in cleanliness and appearance of the carpet after Armando was finished was very dramatic. Armando was extremely courteous and worked very hard while he was at my house, and like I said, the results of his work were magnificent! I wouldn't take the time to write such a long review if I didn't think he was absolutely the best. Hire Armando at Happy Wand, and you will be very satisfied with his work!

Audelia cleaned my entire apartment. I have one bed, 1.5 bath & Her daughter was unable to make it, but she literally cleaned spotless all by herself; it's possibly cleaner than it was when I first moved in. She even folded my laundry, I had so many loads & put them away. I highly recommend her as my place looks fantastic.

Good experience overall although the cleaning quality could be better. The house was cleaner than it was before but it was not as spotless as I would expect from a professional cleaner.

The "Maids" arrived on time and did a good job - the house was empty and I had carpet cleaners and grout cleaner and window cleaner coming in so it is hard to judge how they clean furniture or floors or windows. But the owner helped arrange all the supplemental services which I appreciated and everyone was on time and did a good job. Thanks.

As a realtor, I often need a thorough house cleaning prior to listing. Sharon got back to me promptly with an reasonable estimate. She & Joe arrived on time and did a fantastic job cleaning a new listing. The baths were scrubbed sparkling clean. The kitchen appliances and cabinets were spotless inside & out! Hardwood floors were polished to perfection. With the help of Sharon & Joe, I’m sure this house will sell quickly!

I have used this company for years and love this service. It was supposed to be temporary, but they did such a good job, I didn't want to give it up. The team always works together efficiently and put a lot of effort into the work. They are friendly and pleasant. The house stays cleaner longer after they finish. It smells fresh, the floors feel clean on my bare feet and they always do a good job.

I didn’t think there was much hope for my leaky, moldy outdated ceramic tile shower with some god-awful floor base that stained so bad. I have a decent house but this shower area was a nightmare. Well I really lucked out getting Ivan via Thumbtack. I heartily recommend him for any drywall, tile and grout creation you might want. He’s an absolute craftsman. He doesn’t just repair, he creates a new design look. Every time I look at my new shower area I am amazed and pleased to find everything is square and plumb, the tiles are cut and installed perfectly and the tile and grout color enhances the new chrome and glass door he picked out. As a matter of fact he picked out everything on account of I have no design sense and, I’m told, I may as well be color blind as to try to pick out something tasteful. No matter to Ivan. Since he knows what he is doing he picked out everything perfectly. He also took time to prepare all the surfaces and treat the area against mold before installing new waterproof drywall and a modern floor and drain area. The he artistically created a tile enclosure like no other I’ve see. It’s not that he increased the value of my home much more than I paid him; it’s not that he worked fast but careful and it's not the very fair price he gave me. It’s because I feel happily amazed when I enter the room and see his craftsmanship. That peace of mind hardly compares with the little he charged me compared to the result I got back. Bonus: He has a pleasing professional personality that is extremely rare in contractors these days. You can trust him to listen to you and still create a masterpiece.

So impressed! Trevor was extremely knowledgeable and was thorough with his cleaning. 10/10, would recommend to family and friends, and the price they charge is so reasonable! We'd have REN Cleaning Service come back in a heartbeat! They did a great job and I am stunned by how dramatic the difference is in my carpets! I have used several different carpet cleaners in the past, but these are the guys I would recommend, my carpets look brand new again!

I don't normally book cleaning services, as I find them to be a tad overpriced for something I find easy to do BUT this cleaning was by far the cleanest I have ever seen this house. I was moving out of a rental, and did not want to worry about moving so far away AND coming back to detail clean the place, as the landlord had tenants lined up and ready to move in 2 days after our move out. Scheduling was a breeze, and was even better that I could pay with a card. We booked extra services as well, to deep clean the fridge and oven. The team of 3 arrived on time, and was very courteous. We let them know that we had some errands to run, and asked if they would mind locking up upon leaving. They assured me this was not a problem, and on my way I went. We returned 2 days later for final walk-through, and transfer of keys to new tenants, and were AMAZED by the job. Every surface was spotless, the walls looked scrubbed. They even tidied up the backyard including pulling the few weeds that had cropped up! The fridge and oven looked completely refreshed. Overall, the place was MUCH better than when we moved in! Because of this experience we think we may sign on for a monthly cleaning service from A Mrs.Touch. Much better than any cleaning service I've ever experienced

I just had my first cleaning. They are very pleasant people. They work quickly and, in doing so, missed a few details. I admit, I am pickier than most. After pointing out the issue, it was immediately addressed. The principle of the firm is a professional and agreed with me that my house, while a decent size, was eligible for a small price break because I don't use 3 of the rooms at all. I will have them back to my house at least one or two more times before passing final judgement. A 4 out of 5 sums it up.

The Express Cleaning AZ crew cleaned my house which has total tile flooring. Their work left my place immaculate. They were punctual. They performed better than my last house cleaner. I examined the corners and baseboards; they were clean. The kitchen was cleaned in an immaculate manner. I am looking forward to them cleaning on a regular basis in the future.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

  • Old standard or electric toothbrush
  • Stiff bristle brush
  • Spray bottle
  • White vinegar
  • Commercial grout cleaner

How much do you pay for house cleaning?

Hiring a professional house cleaning service is a helpful way to have a healthy home even when your work and personal schedule is packed. House cleaning prices vary based on how many square feet your home is, how dirty your house gets, and how often the cleaning service comes. Some companies charge a set amount — such as 5 cents — per square foot, with a minimum amount, such as $100. The national average cost for house cleaning ranges between $110 and $150. Prices can be lower in areas with a lower cost of living, higher in big cities or affluent regions. You may save money by increasing the frequency of your house cleaning visits. Often a company will charge you less per cleaning when you schedule more cleanings per month. The cost advantage rewards your loyalty, and also reflects the fact that more frequent cleanings make it easier to maintain a high level of cleanliness in your home. A housecleaning service may charge more for the first visit or for one-time services than for recurring cleanings.

How much does it cost to deep clean a house?

Deep cleaning a house goes beyond the surface level to clear out the dust, grime and gunk that’s collecting on the fan blades, hiding in the blinds, and built up inside the refrigerator drawers. Deep cleaning of a home or apartment costs more than regular house cleaning because it takes more time, effort, and cleaning products. You may choose to have a deep cleaning once or several times a year in addition to your standard cleaning services. You may have a one-time deep cleaning to prepare for company or to clean after a house party. Companies may charge an hourly rate or a price per square foot, or may offer you a flat rate after they have visited your home and estimated work time. The national average house cleaning price is $110-$150, with rates ranging higher for deep-cleaning services. Here are some examples of how a company may calculate their deep-cleaning prices:

  • 10 cents per square foot (compared with 5 cents per square foot for standard house cleaning).
  • $300 for a 3,000-square-foot home.
  • $25 per hour per worker for deep-cleaning services.

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.
