My drumming has much improved since I took lessons from Eddie. He has a lot of experience both as a professional drummer and as a teacher. The lessons are well structured and much attention is paid to personal level and musical interests. He's able to explain the theoretical and practical side of drumming. And also very important, it's fun having drum lessons from Eddie!
I began taking drum lessons from Bryan a couple of years ago shortly after my then 12 year old son began taking drum lessons from him. So, I know from experience that Bryan is an excellent teacher of both kids and adults. He is extremely easy going and lessons are relaxed and fun. Bryan doesn't follow a rote lesson plan; lessons are more organic as Bryan tailors his lessons to lead his students to achieve their goals at any given point, whether they include playing particular beats, fills, songs or styles of music, becoming a more skilled drummer or performing in a band. Bryan's depth of knowledge of many varied musical styles facilitates his students' exploration of different beats. The slow downer app he uses to slow the tempo of recorded songs while not distorting the sound makes working to master a particular beat, fill or song more possible and hence, more enjoyable and rewarding. I love that Bryan has two kits in the studio. As a visual learner, it is instructive for me to watch him demonstrate whatever we are working on. And to have him play along with me is just a blast! When my son and I first started taking lessons with Bryan, we purchased an acoustic drum kit from The Drummer's Den. Later, Bryan directed us in the purchase of a terrific electronic drum kit. More recently, Bryan has helped me to acquire some better cymbals for the acoustic kit. I can say without reservation that Bryan will offer you a great price on whatever equipment you are interested in without a hint of trying to sell you something you don't want or need. On top of that, he will tune your drums if (like me) you can't.
I've been taking lessons with Lou for around 4 years and he is great. It got me out of sticking to one style of music and becoming more open to jazz, Latin, and other styles of music which have helped me become a better player in jazz band at school. I would defiantly check out taking lessons at drum chops, you start our simple and move one to more advanced stuff.
Jim has been an excellent teacher for my 2 seven-year old boys. He is very methodical, each lesson building on the previous lessons. I am a musician (piano, trumpet, trombone) so I appreciate that Jim is teaching my boys how to be musicians, not just showing them how to beat the drums. At first I was skeptical about the need for an hour-long lesson, but now I know that there is an awful lot to being a true drummer. I highly recommend Jim to anyone, young or old, looking to learn how to play the drums.
Matt has been an amazing resource in his teaching methods. I am new to drumming completely and Matt was able to give me the tools to build a solid foundation of proper techniques. He really focused on what methods could improve my current progress. Thank you Matt!
Karl is amazing and we are lucky to have found him.
Brett is the best drum set teacher in AZ! Many years ago, when I was in High School, Brett actually taught me how to play through Zappa's "The Black Page". This is serious instruction, folks. I still have all the print outs and hand-written exercises, and play through on occasion to keep the rust off. Give Brett a call!
Zach was an amazing teacher for my son. He was professional & had a great value for lessons
Hello! After studying drumset performance at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City, I have recently relocated to Phoenix, Arizona to begin teaching and performing. I first began studying percussion and drumset over eight years ago; since then, I have performed in major venues and festivals including the Monterey Jazz Festival (California), Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Umbria Jazz Festival (Italy), Frederick P. Rose Hall (New York City), and Carnegie Hall (New York City). Additionally, I have performed with notable artists such as Brice Winston, Charles McPherson, Ray Drummond, and Jason Carder. I have had extensive experience performing and teaching many styles of music including jazz, rock, hip hop, and latin. However, I am just as enthusiastic about teaching beginners the basic fundamentals of percussion and the drumset. My home studio, located just off of 46th St. and Chandler Blvd. in Ahwatukee, is fully equipped with two drumsets and other teaching materials. But I will commute to students' homes/studios for lessons, if requested. I look forward to meeting and working with you!
Nick is a wonderful drum instructor. He's so focused and is always on track. My son (10 y.o) had learned his drum fills just after 6 lessons. Nick had been teaching him for only 6 months but he can already play rock, bosse nova, rudiments and coaching confidence. Within this period of time, he'd learned to play songs like Rolling in the Deep, Fight song, Hello, Wheel in the Sky, Every little step I take, Hound Dog, Smooth Operator and I was made for loving You. As an instructor, Nick is so talented that he was able to "inspire" young aspirants like my son. If you are looking for a drum instructor who's full of talent, perseverance, patience and objectivity, Nick is your guy. You'll definitely learn a lot from him.

I offer drum lessons. I've been teaching students of all ages, from beginner to advanced, drawing from my many years of professional experience in the studio and live playing as well as touring. We combine what the student is interested in (more so for advanced) and what they need work on. To get you playing with less effort, more control, better ideas, on top of a very solid groove, I am using traditional books and years of teaching experience. I also offer music lessons, covering beginning piano. The student learns how to read and play notes, rhythms, chords, melodies and scales. I also teach bass guitar. The students will learn to read rhythms, notes on instrument and scales, approach to good technique, articulation and read tab and standard music.

I've been teaching guitar since 1999 and drums since 2010 for all ages. I put emphasis on proper technique for quick development.
I take the time to teach kids the basics and the fundamentals of drumming, getting them to the right level of becoming a great experienced drummer. I also let them have some exposure in order to play for artists, churches, and even concerts for them to have a chance to get paid for what they love to do and also to make great music in the industry. Playing the drums is fun when you call Jay1. Thank you for your time, and I am hoping you will give me a chance to show you the experience that I have been gaining from other drummers. And speaking of other drummers, the drummers that really inspired me are Joshua Donald, Aaron Spears, Steve Gadd, Travis Barker, Spanky McCurdy, Tony Royster Jr., and last but not least, Eric Moore. Thank you for your time and God bless.
