Mike C. says, "I called my current service company out due to a lot of cellulose insulation dust making it into the house. When they arrived I had to literally convince the tech to get in the attic. He barely poked his head up and from 10 feet away said everything looked good when he was looking at the ducts. I wasn’t satisfied with that I told him I was going to put on my coveralls and get up there myself a bit later and take a closer look. I guess that prompted him to try again (he said he didn’t want me to think he was slacking off) and he got half way in the attic and then he saw the breach from the bad vent installation from a previous company when I had my AC unit changed out 5 years ago. He also got on the roof to “check the evaporator” (which Lee finds out later that the guy never did) and when he came down he said the evaporator was good and he repaired the air handler vent outside that was exposed to outside air but he left a 1” x 12” section underneath the vent completely exposed and open that I took care of myself with metal vent tape. This company gave me an estimate to change out both the air handler and air return flex ducts in the attic. After I accepted their proposal they had not contacted me in 6 days to schedule. I called them back and the soonest they could get me in was in two weeks. I needed to get them replaced and then get the vents cleaned and after that I’m getting extra insulation blown in. I called Lee Ward to schedule up a vent cleaning for the day after the duct replacement. I located him here on Thumbtack. Lee said he did duct replacements as well and gave me a better price. He came by the house a bit later that morning and took some measurements (my other company measured wrong and would have brought the wrong duct) and came back later with his brother and replaced the ducts and cleaned the vents and cleaned the AC evaporator on the roof same day! Came back the next day and blocked off a part of an unused vent that was just taking up space. These guys hustle. They get the work done. They made my old service company look like a complete joke. There are people that work to take advantage that want to do as less as possible but charge you and arm and a leg and then there are people like Lee and Colby that work and get the job done because they care and they enjoy the work. They’re friendly, prompt, and professional. I’m a retired guy and they reminded me a lot of myself back in the day. I did service for 47 years and I was always fair and prompt with my customers.
