I am 30 years old, and just started taking guitar lessons a month ago. I wanted to learn the guitar inside and out, and become the best that I possibly can. I am beyond satisfied with Mike's musical talent, passion, and ability to teach. He clearly is not just a guitar teacher, but also touches your heart. I personally was not just looking for a typical guitar teacher, but someone who would really play a big part in my growth as a musician, and he has done that for me.(show more)
Our son has been going to Eddie for two years now and he is an outstanding teacher. Jonathan is blind in one eye and can't see out of the other and Eddie has always accommodated to his needs. We moved out of the Phoenix area about 6 months ago and continue to do the online lessons with Eddie. Jonathan looks forward to his lessons every week and is doing great! We highly recommend Eddie for drum lessons.(show more)
I was brand new to guitar when I started lessons with Richard. He is great at taking things at the pace you need and being patient with a new student. He is also very flexible with schedule and length of lessons, so you can work lessons into a busy schedule. His knowledge of music theory was evident in his instruction, and he imparted this information at appropriate times as I learned the practical side of playing. I enjoyed our lessons, as I felt like I made progress, but they were fun at the same time. Richard is very receptive of your input and the direction you want lessons to go. He'll focus on what you want to learn and the songs you want to learn. Overall, I was impressed with his skill and ability to teach, and would highly recommend him!(show more)
I began taking drum lessons from Bryan a couple of years ago shortly after my then 12 year old son began taking drum lessons from him. So, I know from experience that Bryan is an excellent teacher of both kids and adults. He is extremely easy going and lessons are relaxed and fun. Bryan doesn't follow a rote lesson plan; lessons are more organic as Bryan tailors his lessons to lead his students to achieve their goals at any given point, whether they include playing particular beats, fills, songs or styles of music, becoming a more skilled drummer or performing in a band. Bryan's depth of knowledge of many varied musical styles facilitates his students' exploration of different beats. The slow downer app he uses to slow the tempo of recorded songs while not distorting the sound makes working to master a particular beat, fill or song more possible and hence, more enjoyable and rewarding. I love that Bryan has two kits in the studio. As a visual learner, it is instructive for me to watch him demonstrate whatever we are working on. And to have him play along with me is just a blast! When my son and I first started taking lessons with Bryan, we purchased an acoustic drum kit from The Drummer's Den. Later, Bryan directed us in the purchase of a terrific electronic drum kit. More recently, Bryan has helped me to acquire some better cymbals for the acoustic kit. I can say without reservation that Bryan will offer you a great price on whatever equipment you are interested in without a hint of trying to sell you something you don't want or need. On top of that, he will tune your drums if (like me) you can't.(show more)
Whether it be hard-rocking rock and roll, cool jazz or amazing Taiko drumming, Stevie Hagel knows his way around a drum - really multiple types of drums! As the parent of a drummer and of a music teacher, I wish he had been teaching when my daughters was younger.(show more)
I've been taking lessons with Lou for around 4 years and he is great. It got me out of sticking to one style of music and becoming more open to jazz, Latin, and other styles of music which have helped me become a better player in jazz band at school. I would defiantly check out taking lessons at drum chops, you start our simple and move one to more advanced stuff.(show more)
I set up a surprise drum lesson with Joe Costello for my husbands birthday. Joe worked with our crazy schedule even when we had to reschedule. He was patient with me and answered all my questions. My husband said Joe adapted to his skill level and quickly figured out how to best use their time. Also the sound system setup was loud and clear. He was friendly and gave my husband confidence.(show more)

Jim has been an excellent teacher for my 2 seven-year old boys. He is very methodical, each lesson building on the previous lessons. I am a musician (piano, trumpet, trombone) so I appreciate that Jim is teaching my boys how to be musicians, not just showing them how to beat the drums. At first I was skeptical about the need for an hour-long lesson, but now I know that there is an awful lot to being a true drummer. I highly recommend Jim to anyone, young or old, looking to learn how to play the drums.(show more)

I have been drumming for almost 14 years. I have been in love with music for over 30 years. When I was 22 I decided I couldn't hear another good song come out on the radio and not be playing music. I teach beginner drum lessons with focus on posture, stick-handling and sticking technique, counting, syncopation, rudiment studies on hands and feet, drum tuning and setting up, writing and reading, and exercises for rapid creative beat and rhythm development. I also provide consultation for students who wish to join or start a band or pursue playing with other musicians.(show more)
