I went into Raymond at Inner Power Hypnotherapy out of pure desperation and in a last ditch effort because everything else had failed. I was in an unhealthy marriage, I had gained ALOT of weight, had developed low self esteem, suffered sever pain from fibromyalgia and had lost myself and who I was because of all these thing. I went to the first visit just wanting to lose some weight to look better for my husband and not hurt so much. Well let me tell you I may have went thinking I knew what I wanted but I left with what I needed. I left feeling so empowered!. (He even helped me address and let go of some issued I had been carrying around since I was little that had been effecting me my whole life) I have taken control of my life back and am starting to find me again. 6 months ago I could not even walk 400 steps a day the pain was so severe from the fibromyalgia and today I am pain free. Before seeing Ray if you had asked me what I like to do I would have just stared at you and said "I don't know" because I had lost me and I really didn't know. Today I can name you half a dozen thing I have discovered I love to do. Ray is not just a wonderful hypnotherapist you can trust but a great therapist, confidant, life coach and mentor. I highly recommend Ray at Inner Power Hypnotherapy for what ever your needs are.

I really felt Wendy cared about me. I still can't believe I was able to be hypnotized. I am grateful for the time she spent with me, and for her suggestions. She definitely provided more than hypnotherapy; there was life coaching in there, too. All of it was very helpful. I have already put some of what she mentioned to good and use. :-) I am looking forward to our next session.

Dennis is an excellent life and business coach! He goes beyond his duties to help outside of sessions and to push me past my limiting beliefs. Dennis is extremely friendly in his approach, yet pushes me outside my comfort zone accelerating my growth. The homework he gives is relevant and has advanced me further towards my goals. I could not recommend Dennis more!

I came to Mike a year and a half ago, completely distraught and hopeless. My OCD had reached a point I couldn't deal with anymore. I went to some website and Mike gave me a call and his voice just made me feel comforted immediately. When I met him we went to work right away. Fast forward to present time and I feel great. Mike has given me different tools to deal with my past manifesting itself into my present. It's been about 4 months since I've seen him last and he always done check ups. He's so intelligent and I have learned a lot from him. If you're willing to face your issues and put in the work, Mike is the therapist to go to. I'm forever grateful.

Christie did a great job staying at my house watching my 2 dogs. Felt extremely comfortable leaving them in her hands after just meeting her one time. You can tell she loves animals and is a good, honest person. I will recommend her to my friends.

I immensely enjoyed working with Master Terri as she always welcomes me with a hug and positive energy. Her classes especially Tai Chi are well orchestrated and she'll help me out to correct my body's posture, alignment, stretching etc. She worked one on one with me with not only exercises but talking as well. She is a person who will listen and go out of her way to help people heal and live a better life. She far exceeds her job due to her caring and compassionate heart.

Sally did a great job by asking the right questions. Was always punctual at our meetings and followed up on any concerns that I had. Her insights on current HR practices is invaluable if you want a resume that isn't generic. She also integrated my portfolio into social networks along with professional recruiting sites. As a result, I have been getting compliments and offers from recruiters in my industry. This alone is invaluable when the job hasn't been posted on a company's website. I would highly recommend anyone to contact Sally I you want your resume to stand out from the pack.

I've always been an athletic/ goal oriented individual, however after experiencing a serious medical condition I found it very difficult to have the confidence to get myself back into shape and push my limits in regards to effort put forth in the gym. The result was gaining 27 lbs, low self-esteem and little to no ambition when in the gym... To put it bluntly, my workouts sucked. Jeff with Get Focused Athletics introduced himself to me and continues to help me push my limits, coaches/ teaches me with proper technique, and is there for a solid support system. Over the past 5 months, I have grown in so many ways both physically in regards to muscle development and mentally with the confidence that I've gained over the time. One of the sayings that Jeff says is that "we train to be beasts not just animals" and it's completely true. His technique is down and dirty... The only way to truly train and workout to be an athlete. Jeff is extremely dedicated to his clients and is always there to help support and encourage a healthy lifestyle. I honestly don't know where I would be at if I hadn't started working out with Get Focused Athletics.

Choosing Lisa as my life coach and mentor, has impacted my view of who I'm, who I want to be and how I'm going there in the most positive and uplifting way possible. Her holistic approach, true professionalism and human understanding is what intially connected me to her and now has allowed me to connect to myself and to others in the way I desire to. I'm grateful for all I have learned about myself in her presence and looking forward to more.

I highly recommend Fit Forever for all levels of fitness. Fit Forever will build your confidence and your physical/mental stamina all while enjoying working out. I wouldn’t even use the word working out because by the end you realize you’re burning calories, you’ve sweated and you’re craving more. Coach Brad is a wonderful teacher, who is patient and helps you build your abilities. Doesn’t matter if you work out every day, just beginning, or even looking to add more out of your evening walks. With Fit Forever you cannot wait to do more. Your sessions will just just fly by.... I used my Fit Forever training when I went to Yosemite and hiked over 50 miles. Yes, I said 50 miles! :) -

I had my (first ever) life coaching session with Nicole. I was not too sure what that even meant when I signed up, but knew that I wanted someone in the world to talk to and guide me. From the moment our call began I instantly felt comfortable with her. Even though we were not face to face, she was so very present. She guided me through the process of being coached, and really made me think and talk about many aspects of my life. Her questions were well thought out, and so appropriately put each and every time. She also sent me notes and steps for moving forward, which will be so helpful to have in print for the future.

Mike Weinstein is a true professional. He hosted our annual Goodyear Small Business Summit attended by over 200+ business owners. He was able to step in without much background on the event prior, and did an incredible job engaging the diverse audience of business owners. His tone, wealth of knowledge, humor, and ability to provide great transitions helped to make our event the most successful yet. In fact, we have already asked him to join us again for our next event. Thanks Mike!

His coaching sessions typically last an hour. Its an hour jam packed with information and tools for success. The Seven Secrets to Success book that Mr. Aldama has published is a very helpful book to go along with the coaching sessions. I plan on being a client of Aldama Coaching for a long time. Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a life coach?

A professional, accredited life coach works with people to help them make important changes in their life, either growing in their profession or changing gears in their personal lives. They help clients turn their dreams or wishes into realistic, attainable goals. They guide people through the process of making life changes by helping them evaluate the steps they must take to reach a particular goal, then help them decide how — and whether — to take those steps in the most efficient, effective and rewarding way possible. A life coach acts as a motivator, strategist and accountability partner. Unlike a therapist, a life coach doesn’t help solve problems from your past — they’re focused on helping you move forward with new ways of acting and thinking that will help you reach your goals. Some people specialize in particular types of life coaching, including life balancing coaches, small business coaches, executive coaches and personal finance coaches. Some meet clients in person, while others hold consultations over the phone.

Regardless of which type of life coach you’re interested in, make sure the person holds an International Coach Federation (ICF) credential. There are three tiers of credentials: Associate, Professional and Master, which require coaching experience ranging from 100 hours to 2,500 hours.

What is a career coach?

If you’re interested in furthering your career and want expert help, a career coach is a smart solution. A career coach is a professional you hire to guide you during a job search or a career transition, or to help you improve and advance in your current position. A career coach analyzes your work situation and learns what your professional goals are. They then create a strategy to help you achieve your targets. Throughout the process they should provide objective feedback and guide you in approaching the process strategically. Here are some of the tools and tasks a career coach may assist you with:

  • Helping you build a strong resume that reflects your work history, potential, and skills
  • Coaching for interviews and strategies for solid answers built around your resume and the target job
  • Defining your career goals
  • Creating a plan for job searching
  • Improving networking strategies and skills
  • Developing strategies for negotiating raises or promotions
  • Assessing why you’re not getting where you want to go
  • Identifying new positions or career opportunities that fit your skills

How much does a life coach cost?

A life coach helps clients set and reach professional and personal goals, develop positive habits, and deal with stress. Some people meet with a life coach once or twice, while others form an ongoing professional relationship, meeting regularly in person or on the phone. The average national cost to meet with a life coach ranges from $80 to $130 an hour. Some coaches offer per-session pricing, especially for one-time meetings; expect to pay an average of $100-$125. People who want to work with a coach over a period of time to explore life transitions, career growth or lifestyle changes may be able to get discounted pricing in a package. For example, three 60-minute sessions cost an average of $300, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $350, and four 60- to 90-minute sessions plus unlimited contact between sessions cost an average of $400. Some specific types of coaching, such as relationship or marriage coaching, cost more than standard life coaching. For instance, three 60-minute relationship coaching sessions cost an average of $500, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $550, and six 60- to 90-minute sessions cost an average of $650 when purchased as a package. Training and experience can also affect the cost of hiring a life coach. An Associate Certified Coach, who holds a certification that requires only 60 hours of training and 100 hours of coaching experience, will charge less than a Master Certified Coach, who typically has at least 200 hours of training and 2,500 hours of coaching experience.

Why is career counseling important?

Career counseling can help you discover your career path, help you overcome challenges preventing you from finding happiness in your job, or help you learn more about career opportunities that are available to you. Career counselors are typically counselors who specialize in helping guide people into their best career choices. As professionals, they have typically completed a master’s degree in counseling with a focus on career counseling and bring a nuanced understanding of the emotional blocks that prevent someone from doing what they love or getting ahead in their current position. Here are some of the ways that career counseling can help:

  • Identify your skills and talents and how they correlate to different career paths
  • Educate you about the educational requirements for launching in various careers and what earnings can look like
  • Help you understand the kind of environment you want to work in, and which careers are best suited for that
  • See opportunities to transfer your existing skill set to other career areas
  • Help you identify causes of tension or unhappiness in your current career and how to overcome those difficulties
  • Help you create a game plan for moving forward
  • Provide a safe space for you to understand your feelings about career choices you’re making

How much does it cost to hire a career coach?

A career coach provides one-on-one sessions to help you reach your career goals or overcome any challenges you’re having in your career path. The cost to have career coaching can vary based on factors such as the number of sessions you purchase at one time and the experience and rates of your counselor. Career counselors are typically professionals who have earned at least a master’s degree in their field. Based on their academic background, supplemental certifications they have received, and any postdoctoral work they have done, their rates may vary. Typically career counselors offer reduced rates when you sign on for their services on an ongoing basis. A typical price range for career counseling services (nationally) could be $75-$150 per session. Remember to always ask if the career counselor offers a complimentary introductory session. You want to make sure the relationship will be the right personality and counseling style fit to help launch your confidence and upcoming career changes.
