I was having issues with my dryer. Called for a price quote and Ullya sent over his tech Anton. He checked out the dryer and said it was the heating element. Since it's after hours he came back the next day with the part and fixed installed it. On the side note I also had him check out my stove as well. Although i didn't have him repair it. He did give me great advice. I will use them again for appliance repair.

It's very refreshing to deal with honest, fair and knowlegeable repair companies. We needed a new heating element on our Electrolux dryer so I contacted Leo and he scheduled the service visit for the following morning. He was there on time and had our dryer up and running in a short period of time. There is no doubt that this will be my new go to company for any appliance repair. Thank you Leo for providing excellent service that hit the mark.

Richard is the consummate appliance repair person! He is knowledgeable and thorough and knows what he is doing. His workmanship is clean and very professional. We had him service 3 major appliances and advise/consult on another technical device that now works perfectly after being not fully operative for the past 5 years! He is truly a gem! We operated a contractor mechanical business doing installation and service work for over 35 years here in AZ and the upper Midwest. We know what it means to be a pro, and Richard, owner/operator of Action Systems Solitions is one such pro! He is highly recommended!🙂

Very professional and was on time. Fixed my dishwater and was very honest about fixing my washing machine versus buying a new one since it was old and would be a waste of money. Much appreciated!! They are my new small appliance repair men!

The first projects Joseph Lynch did for me was to replace built-in appliances; microwave, disposal, and dishwasher. He has subsequently repaired problems with both outdoor irrigation plumbing and indoor plumbing, including replacing a water heater. He helped me with renovation projects of all kinds, such as running electrical lines to add ceiling fans to bedrooms, and replacing counters, cabinets, toilets and sinks. He has a lot of experience, and knows how to do things right the first time.

Very expensice Kitchenaid microwave/oven combo broken. The Microwave stopped heating anything. We had 2 other maintenance companies come out and could not solve the issue. Byron from Localserviz Appliance Service and Repair came out and looked at it. He asked a lot of questions and spent a lot of time diagnosing the issue. I was very impressed with his thoroughness. He insisted on looking at the owner's manual and checked all wiring. Found out the previous crew messed up the wiring and was blowing the fuses. Byron was professional, genuine, and truly was interested in solving the issue. I will use him again in the future if I need any additional maintenance assistance.

All of the above was applicable. I called on a Sunday he came over in 30 minutes and solved a problem with my frig that I have had for over a year. The I called Sears they told me I needed to put my veggies in a zip lock bag. What really happened is that a sensor that controls the defrost was broken and the coil was one big block of ice. David is my new appliance repair guy.

This was the first time I used Thumbtack for a referral, and it was an excellent one. Mark Gendle had expert knowledge of my 26-year old washer and dryer. I was sure I would be shopping for new appliances, but thanks to Mr. Gendle's expertise, honesty, and a $140 repair (so refreshing, and he was very pleasant to boot), I should be able to get substantially more life out of appliances that were made when appliances were made to last, not fall apart every five years (I do realize mine have enjoyed an extraordinary lifespan, but I'll take it).

I needed to have my Samsung dryer repaired. From the bids I received, Michael gave a reliable and reasonable quote. I found him to be honest and transparent, rare with some repair people. He explained the work needed, did not try to upsell me, he performed with precision and neatness. It was a great experience and I would not hesitate to refer Michael to my friends and family.

Appliance Certified technicians proved to be excellent specialists in appliance repair when it came to solving my water heater dilemma. They were able to identify the problem and fix it the same day - I had hot water and heating within hours of placing a service call. Just wanted to recommend this great company to all and share my story.

Received a response within minutes of submitting the quote, scheduled later in the evening for a diagnosis. Couldn't be happier with the responsiveness. Scott repaired a leaky refrigerator and replaced the temperature sensor of my stove. I was also pleased with the options available to pay for service, all major credit cards accepted. I highly recommend Scott Phillips with River City Appliance.

A to z is exactly the appliance repair you've been looking for. Leonard communicated before the appointment, gave a window of arrival, and was right on-time. He diagnosed the issue and repaired my GE Profile refrigerator within an hour. He had the part in-stock on his truck. Incredible service and professionalism. The price and value of his service and knowledge cannot be beat. I would highly recommend A to z over any and all service repair I have used in the past 25yrs in the East Valley.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does refrigerator repair cost?

Refrigerator repair generally costs a fraction of the price of a new fridge and shouldhave your appliance up and running again in no time. The problems your refrigerator is experiencing and the parts required to fix it will affect your repair costs. Where you live can affect labor rates, which will raise or lower your costs. Here are some examples of average costs:

  • Diagnostic fees: $50-$100. Repair pros often have a service call fee or diagnostic fee to account for their time traveling to your location with all their tools to assess the problem. If you choose to have them repair the fridge, most pros then credit this fee toward your repair cost.
  • Parts: $20-$500. A new compressor averages $200, an icemaker $300, and computerized components such as touch screens and control boards average $300 or more.
  • Basic repairs: $180-$400, including parts. This price range can include repairing the evaporator or fan motor.

How long do fridges last?

Refrigerators can last 10 to 20 years, although the most common lifespan is about 13 years. If your fridge is acting up, consider its current age when deciding whether to invest in repairs or buy a new one. Common easy fixes include faulty thermostats, dirty coils and clogged drain lines. Thermostats and dirty coils can be generally be fixed for an average cost of $80-$100. Clogged drain lines, which usually cause leaks, can often be fixed for under $200.

More complex refrigeration repairs such as replacing a bad compressor or replenishing low refrigerant can cost more because of expensive parts and higher labor. A new compressor costs an average of $200, not including labor. If labor is an average of $75-$100 per hour, and the repair takes 3 hours, you’re looking at roughly $500. Consider the age and purchase cost of your fridge; investing $350 in a $600 fridge that is 8 years old may not be cost-effective.
