Bobbi is great! I have been taking singing lessons from her for about 5 years, off and on. Started with a group intro class of 4 students where we were all totally scared, then I transitioned into private lessons where I found that I really might be able to sing after all! I sign up for 6 to 12 weeks a year usually...enough to move to the next level of confidence and technique. I'm obviously not that driven but sure like to have fun and get out of my comfort zone. This year a group of 4 signed up for her group singing class, which has been a blast learning to harmonize on the spot, get past another level of jitters and use the mics. Even did a recital together. Bobbi is gracious and encouraging - and yes she can sing!
Ron Ferlito is an outstanding voice instructor! He really got me singing within just a matter of a few lessons. I started with absolutely zero prior singing experience or knowledge. I really thought it would be just a waste of time to even try getting voice lessons. I've always thought my singing voice is so incredibly bad, there is no way that an instructor could do anything for me. HOW WRONG I WAS! I was lucky enough to be referred to Ron Ferlito for voice lessons. Ron Ferlito is an amazing voice teacher. He showed me the basics, and he has been showing me how to use my voice musically, just like a musical instrument. Ron Ferlito has a wealth of musical knowledge and experience and he knows how to explain it to a beginner in a way that makes sense and gets results. I highly recommend Ron Ferlito for voice lessons to anyone who is a beginner and curious to know whether they can actually sing. Ron Ferlito will get you singing! Ron Ferlito is also an amazing and gifted piano player and teacher. My wife is taking piano lessons from him and she has gone from zero knowledge of music to playing some simple Christmas songs in just a matter of a few weeks! How do you do it, Ron?! About me: I am a 40-year-old man who has played guitar for 20 years. I have always wanted to learn to sing too, but I never had any success on my own. I told Ron that I want to learn to sing well enough to play/sing at open-mic nights. Before I knew it, Ron had me singing at one of his recitals. What an awesome experience that was! Bottom line: if you want to learn how to sing or play piano, or both, regardless of whether you have some musical background or not, sign up for lessons with Ron Ferlito. He is very reasonably priced. I'm kicking myself for waiting so long. Ron Ferlito is also a very friendly guy who is easy to get along with. You never feel embarrassed when you make a mistake around Ron. His attitude is always supportive and encouraging. I just can't say enough good about him because I'm so grateful to Ron Ferlito for helping me to find my true singing voice.
I have been working with Mary for 5 weeks now, and I couldn't be happier that I chose her. First of all, Mary is very warm and engaging; I genuinely enjoy spending time with her and connect with her as a friend. Secondly, she sings like an angel but is in no way intimidating. Rather, her beautiful voice inspires me. She is very kind and encouraging. I am very much a beginner despite my age, and I've learned more in 5 weeks with Mary than I ever thought possible. I came in very pitchy with limited range, but she helped me open up my voice (over two octaves!) and smooth it out. Songs that I've been singing (badly) for years now sound so much better. I worked with another teacher who taught 'speech-level singing' and had zero results (at twice the cost). Mary teaches Bel Canto method, and it's done more for my breathing, placement and pitch than I ever thought possible. There's a reason Bel Canto method has been around for hundreds of years -- there are no tricks, no gimmicks, just the correct way of singing. Most importantly, I can take away what she teaches and practice on my own, building on fundamentals and applying them to any song. I still have a way to go to reach my goals, but I am confident that Mary can lead me there. I am very much looking forward to seeing what I can do!
Susan is incredible. My daughter loves her singing lessons. I love hearing her sing with more confidence. I couldn't recommend her more!
I started taking piano lessons a while after my wife passed and i found myself depressed and in a rut. Jenn has a funny at times, positive energy that encouraged me during each lesson, she is incredibly patient and has a sound way of articulating the various elements of theory and technique as well as always welcoming my question. I have gone back to work so iv had to put my lessons aside but hope to pick them up again and highly encourage anyone of any age looking for a piano teacher to check her out :)
Mary Wagner is a wonderful piano teacher. I tried taking lessons back in my 20s and after six months I was still doing just very basic things. Im in my 50s now and I wanted to give piano another try. I havent even been with Mary for six months yet and Im already moving my hands all over the keyboard and playing songs other than Mary Had a Little Lamb. She is amazing!
Dr. Jeff is a great teacher. We are doing piano lessons for my 6 year old son, and flute for my 9 year old daughter. He even helped me find inexpensive instruments for them. Dr. Jeff is very patient with my incredibly energetic and TALKATIVE kids, refocusing them when they get offtrack during a lesson. They both look forward to their lessons, so I think that says alot about his teaching methods and how much they like him. (I know many adults who tell me they hated their music lessons as kids) I try hard not to have to cancel their lessons, but on the occasion it does happen he has been very accommodating to reschedule if possible. I would recommend Dr. Jeff to anyone young or old, who is interested in learning an instrument.
She was extremely knowledgeable and professional. She made singing lessons something I looked forward to every week. If you are serious about learning how to sing I would highly recommend.
I am a retired, senior citizen who has been taking singing lessons from Sommar for one year. She is absolutely incredible. She is kind and patient, yet she pushes me to improve with each lesson. She helps me with whatever I ask her for (piano playing, reading music for my chorus). She knows how to teach as well as knowing her subject matter inside and out. She goes above and beyond and even volunteers to do a little extra for me to help me be successful. She has also given my granddaughters lessons. She knows how to work with all age groups well, and she truly cares about her students. I highly recommend her.
My children have been taking piano lessons at Kirk's Studio before it even became a studio. Kirk has grown this studio to be a very exciting place to take lessons of all sorts. Since he moved into the studio, he added to his piano lessons many more opportunities. He has started show choirs, guitar, violin, cello, voice lessons and more. He has helped create awesome Rock Bands who have competed in Rock Band competitions and played at the Rock n' Roll Marathon. The studio has expanded from the Scottsdale location to Mesa and Desert Ridge. The Showcase performances are amazing every year and something that even those who don't participate would enjoy attending. Kirk is very creative and continues to come up with new ideas every year. He makes all the kids feel so special! All in all even though the lessons are more costly than others, the opportunities and the quality of lessons are worth the price. It is a one stop shopping kind of place. AND the owners are AMAZING people to boot! LHolgate
In 2011, I joined the Phoenix College Community Choir. At that point, it had been over 40 years since I sang in any choir; I always figured "oh I can't sing. I don't read music well". But Kenny Miller gave a short speech in a class I was attending encouraging all students to join the choirs that PC offered. He had such enthusiasm that my curiosity was piqued and so I signed up for the Community Choir. The rest is history: I joined a 2nd choir, I started voice lessons, I started trying out for solos, I PERFORMED solos and now I'm in the school's spring musical production. I sincerely owe it all to the inspiration that Kenny Miller gives to his students. He has the ability to make you believe you can sing and in doing so, you learn that you, indeed, CAN sing. You have a wonderful time learning how to best use your voice. "If Music Be Food of Love", sing on: this is Kenny's philosophy and it will become yours. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
She is absolutely amazing. Great for any level of singer. I would highly recommend her to beginners and to people who have a backround in singing (such like myself) but got a bit rusty and need help getting back on track. Very patient and sweet. She is able to help you in all the best ways that are right for your voice. I am now a regular student and she is helping me get my voice back to the standard it was at when I had to stop with my other teacher. Very flexible and she offers classes and all the great opportunities to improve your voice with her help. I am definitely VERY happy I started lessons with her. Wouldn't trust my vocal training with anyone else. :) Try her out and see for yourself!
Before I met Sara I had worked with three different voice coaches trying to find a method that clicked with me. Not until Sara introduced me to the Speech Level Singing concept did I really understand how to use my voice correctly and effortlessly. It just makes sense! I can't believe how much I've grown as a singer and more confident performer since I began lessons with her. I'm now singing with a band and loving every second of it! Thank you for all your support Sara!
My 13 year old daughter started voice lessons with Karin this summer and just completed a week long glee camp lead by Karin. We have been extremely pleased. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the camp.....not an early morning riser...didn't even mind having to wake up in the morning to go. My daughter said that she finds Karin very friendly, outgoing and feels she is understanding. She feels she has been very positive and supportive.....teaching her how to breathe, sing without restricting her voice and develop self-confidence. She looks forward to continuing lessons with Karin this coming year.
Lizzie has an incredible talent in singing and teaching. She is the sweetest, most genuine person I know. She has the ability to help anyone feel confident and loved. I would recommend Lizzie to everyone!
I took voice lessons from Lacy because of the need for my job as a music director at church. I am a pianist, so I didn’t have the need for basic music theory but strong understanding of vocal techniques for the purpose of singing without straining my voice, which was the reason I never sang, and also teaching my choir members. Lacy has been very patient and extremely helpful in making me understand the vocal techniques. Less than a year of taking lessons from her without any previous training from anybody else, I pass the audition for the Phoenix Symphony Chorus. I highly recommend Lacy if you want solid and right technique from the get go as well as artistry.
Michele is an amazing teacher. My daughter (age 13) has blossomed under her instruction. She has not only helped develop her voice (she helped her get ready for a school vocal audition), but she continues to fill her with self-confidence. We highly recommend her!
Tina was an excellent accompanist! She always followed my singing and she was always available to practice and to attend voice lessons and any performances. She accompanied many others as well and still found the time to work with all of us while juggling schools work and her own instrument. It was a pleasure working with her.
I have taken voice lessons from Lindsey for years and it's amazing how much I've learned and how much better my singing is. I feel so much more confident and sound so much better. Taking lessons with her is fun and joyful. She is one of those people you meet who has a great heart, knows a lot, and shares her knowledge generously. I've met many of her students over the years and she relates well to people of all ages. Do yourself or your child a great favor and go meet her and take lessons from her - it will improve your singing, your musical ability, and add joy to your life!
I'm using Lemon Lion for singing lessons and English lessons and I love the instructor!
