- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My passion for all things health was born out of a deepening sense of helplessness and frustration as I sat by and witnessed dear friends and family members develop chronic diseases and succumb to life-threatening conditions. As I began to dig deep for answers and solutions, I was blown away with all I was discovering. Most significantly, the fact that the vast majority chronic illness and health conditions are not only 100% preventable, but they are also, in many cases, reversible. The reality of the current health epidemic hit me like a ton of bricks. Particularly the truth that things are only getting worse in what feels like a runaway train. "By 2030, more than 50% of the U.S. population will be obese." (New England Journal of Medicine, December 2019). This is a risk factor for 30+ medical illnesses. I've chosen to dedicate myself to helping others avoid those pitfalls. Life is too short and precious to live every day feeling bad. Things will not get better on their own. Every generation that doesn't take control of their health passes those problems along to the next. The newest generation is the first in history to have an expected lifespan shorter than the one before it. We have an unprecedented health crisis in this country that is not going to go away by itself. It's time to become a change agent of your life; to get in the driver's seat and steer yourself to the life you deserve.
