Great company to work with. Eddie, the tech called me 30 minutes before arrival and was right on time. Once arrived, he was very professional and courteous. We had carpet cleaning and tile and grout cleaning done. The tile took extra time but Eddie handled it. He even did an extra rug for us. No upsell, no BS, just great customer service. Would highly recommend.

After being stood up by another carpet cleaning company, I was in a real time crunch to get the rug ready to move in. After explaining this to Kevin from So Cal Eco Cleaning, he graciously fit me into his weekend plans the following day. He was professional, friendly, and did a great job on the rug. The thing I have to say that I liked the most about Kevin was his honesty. He was upfront about the cost and did not try to haggle prices; something I have experienced in the past with different carpet cleaners (most would not give me a quote until they saw the area). Kevin's price was set regardless of type of rug or stain, and I appreciated knowing what I would be paying when hiring Kevin. I would most definitely recommend him and his services to my friends and family.

Rebecca did an amazing job of cleaning! I've had a few other cleaners at my house and none did the amount of detail that she did. If you are looking for a detailed cleaning then definitely hire her! She is very personable as well :) Will be hiring again soon !

I would recommend this carpet cleaner..they did a great job and they were reasonable in pricing! I did not feel ripped off like other carpet cleaners..they were professional too..I liked that they moved the furniture around to clean all areas...most companies don’t want to go the extra mile to do a great job..

After a little bit of a miscommunication, we were able to coordinate a time that worked for us. The carpets looked great and they were done quickly. A bit more initial correspondence would've been nice, but if I need my carpets cleaned again, I'll give them a call!

Very small tile repair job but Michael did it anyway. Spend over 2 hours and made the repair look great! Not perfect but how do you match dirty grout, right? I will use Michael for my next complete re-tile. Great Job Michael!

I was initially hesitant about using someone I found through the site. But after reading the profile and speaking with the owner on the phone, I was at ease. The response was prompt and I was not charged more than my estimate I recived over the phone like I had been with other carpet cleaners in the past. There were some tough stains on my cream colored carpet from my puppy and my 4 year old and also an odor that i was both embarrassed and irritated. I was thoroughly happy with the results of the service! From the way the carpet looked to the professionalism of the company. This is definitely a company I will be using again! I would recommend anyone that's looking to beautify their carpets to use Tykoon.

I use to work for Ann, Sullivan's deep cleaning, and still currently work with her from time to time. Ann trained me in many different areas of the cleaning industry, she educated me in all surfaces and how to properly clean them and what cleaners to use. From Ann's training I moved forward to start my own company, without her help and knowledge I would not be where I am today! She is friendly, dependable and excellent at what she does. She can help you in so many areas of your home! You won't regret working with Sullivan's deep cleaning!

I loved immaculate cleaners. Berenice was a complete sweetheart, very efficient, friendly, and tuned into my needs. She was conversational but was definitely moving quickly still. I also didn't get charged for time- I was quoted up front and that's what I paid (plus tip). They helped me clean some garbage off the ground and even finish up packing the last few things (it was a move out clean, it was pretty disgusting when they arrived but I didn't think to take before pictures) which was very helpful. When I got my quote Berenice asked if I wanted the baseboards scrubbed. I told her I wasn't sure whether we needed it and she told me we can have a look and see what we think. On the day of the cleaning she looked at them, dragged a finger to check for dust, and told me that she'd clean them really good if I wanted but that I probably didn't need it. I really appreciated that she didn't try to upsell me as moving is already so expensive. She also really delivered with cleaning the refrigerator. Took the whole thing apart, scrubbed it, made it spotless where it was pretty gross before. The other cleaner she was with also scrubbed the hell out of the metal pieces on the stove- those things were pretty badly caked in baked on cooking splatter and she got a lot of it off. Having scrubbed them myself a few months ago, I was really impressed. The other woman who was with her was rather quiet, didn't seem to be keen on/proficient at speaking English, but definitely understood it as I and Berenice frequently addressed her in English and she had no trouble with it. Berenice spoke both languages natively it seemed anyway so it wouldn't really have mattered in the end, but I know sometimes not being able to communicate can cause delays or frustration. Anyway, both of them did a great job and even gave me some advice about moving and cheered up a very stressful day. I absolutely hope to hire them again in the future.

Alejandro and crew did the best job they could with my old and scratched linoleum floors. They were on time and completed the job within the time quoted. The floors were drying so I could not do a walk through before Alejandro left. When I did, I noticed some spots that were missed, wax was sprayed all over my china cabinet, and a small trinket had been knocked down and broken. I cleaned up the China cabinet and glued the trinket back together. I would suggest doing a walk through to allow Alejandro to correct any issues before he leaves, as I'm sure he would have for me if I had. Then, I would have been happy to give him 5 stars.

Maid Scope is heaven sent! I decided to look into a maid service for my mom because she was having trouble getting around, let alone cleaning her home. I went to the website, entered the information on my moms home, and set an appointment with no hassle at all. Not only that, but the cleaner was on-time, professional, and super sweet. Afterward, the house looked and smelled amazing! We will definitely be booking reoccurring appointments from here on out...it was soooo worth it! Thanks Maid Scope!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

    • Old standard or electric toothbrush
    • Stiff bristle brush
    • Spray bottle
    • White vinegar
    • Commercial grout cleaner

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.
