Paul is amazing!!!! He is so patient and supportive as an instructor. So pleased with my decision to hire Paul. He has a great relationship with my 6 year old and I am confident in his ability to teach her how to play the guitar. Paul is so awesome that I decided to take guitar lessons as well! Looking forward to making music with my daughter!!! Thank you Paul!!!
As a first-time guitar player, I thought I could just use the internet to figure out how to play. After a few months of YouTube videos, I wasn't making much progress beyond open chords and basic songs learning became mundane. As a new year resolution I've decided to find an instructor and after I started taking lessons with Steve, playing the guitar started to make sense. He is very patient and uses a practical teaching method, I feel more confident and enjoy learning to play the guitar. I still have a long way to go, but at least the foundation is building up. I would highly recommend Steve to anybody looking for a great instructor that is able to adjust to any skill level.
Been taking electric guitar lessons with Paul for a few months. Would recommend him to others: -Positive and constructive demeanor -Interested in the student -Easy to contact and flexible in scheduling -Has a basic curriculum, but is just as willing to work on specific areas or help you learn your favorite song -Solid practical knowledge of the guitar, backed up with proper music education
Brian is a great guitar instructor. He has a wide knowledge of different styles and a lot of instructive tips for beginner guitars. His setup is professional, he's able to evaluate and teach what you want to learn, and is very patient. I recommend him!
John is great person. Currently my daughter's are learning guitar and piano with the help of John. I am 43 years old and I am taking guitar lessons through John. Very polite and extraordinary knowledge about music. Cheers John!!!
Omar was great at helping me understand music theory. Being a beginner, he showed me how to break down strumming patterns and chords so that it would be easier for me to practice and progress.
Beginner electric bass guitar lessons, 1 hour per week, at Rancho Canyon Music. I have been taking lessons with Lou for two months. Lou is an experienced, knowledgeable, and patient instructor. Additionally, he is personable and has a good sense of humor which makes the lessons fun. Lou finds ways to easily relate a theory or technique to you in everyday terms. He is a formally trained musician who performs regularly for audiences. His training and regular performing, coupled with his teaching techniques makes him my first choice for music instruction. Lou arrives on time and is ready begin working with you, evidence he values your time as well. Lou goes above and beyond for his students by providing in class resources, useful online content, and instructional online videos. All of which I have found helpful and not readily found in other music instructors. Lou can quickly analyze what is happening and provide you with helpful input to help you understand and improve. It is clear to me Lou understands the teaching process. He explains things in a logical order, using building blocks of learning. I would highly recommend Lou to all of my family and friends. An hour lesson is filled with easily digestible information and practical application. My understanding and enjoyment of playing my bass guitar has been energized working with Lou.
Hello, My name is Abigail. Im 11 years old and have been taking guitar lessons from Damien for about 2 years now. He has taught me how to read music. I have learned step by step, no rushing into music whatsoever. In the beginning of my lessons, Damien gave me a booklet/guitar notebook to record every lesson. My first lessons were basically getting to know music and my guitar. The next couple of lessons he began teaching me how to play simple songs like Twinkle-Twinkle, Happy Birthday and Mary Had a Little Lamb. Further on, Damien allowed me to choose a couple of my favorite songs, which he then taught me how to play. I definitely recommend any beginners to attend his lessons because you will not regret it.
I've been taking guitar lessons with Kimberly since the beginning of 2011. At the time I'd had several years of lessons using a traditional method on acoustic guitar and was looking for a teacher who could help me focus on electric blues rock and move me beyond my intermediate skill level. Kimberly has a real focus on and talent for teaching. My lessons are tailored to meet my interests. A large part of the lesson is devoted to learning her method for blues soloing--at least 5 approaches to improvisation and comping. After several years, I've come to see how these approaches interweave, complement each other and have become an intuitive part of my musical vocabulary. Also, because I expressed an interest, part of the lesson involves sight reading, learning blues and jazz theory, developing rhythmic playing sense, and learning a few favorite solos. Kimberly has an amazing ability to tab out and teach any song you give her. Which leads to the best part--after 6 months I was invited to play with one of her ensemble classes. While I was absolutely petrified with fear at the beginning, this has turned into one of the highlights of my week every week. It is just downright fun! It's a safe and forgiving environment where you can make mistakes and learn, or try things out that might flop, or turn into something cool. Every teacher and guitar magazine article all point to the need to play with other musicians to develop your skills and this is where Kimberly Allison really delivers. I feel that I could now sit in with other musicians and contribute. I give my highest recommendation for taking lessons with Kimberly.
In my time of playing guitar I have had many people who claim to be a "guitar teacher"... but until I started taking lessons from Craig over Skype I never really knew what a true guitar teacher was. Craig truly is a great teacher, because he takes notice of your interests musically, and takes in your current level of guitar skill, and then structures your lessons based on your interests, and skill. Overall Craig Sternberg is an awesome teacher, and great guy. I would recommend him to anyone... both experienced players and beginners.
I have a five-year-old boy taking piano lessons and a seven-year-old girl taking guitar lessons. They love Annette, and they take pride in showing off their developing skills, which, I believe, is a testament to strong teaching and an encouraging environment.
Mark's an awesome teacher - fun to work with, infinitely patient with beginner students, remarkably skilled in both electric and acoustic guitar. Really conveys his passion with the instrument and his love of the art -- if you're looking to get motivated, start here!
At the age of 9 my son Julian started to take group guitar lessons from Pat. After that session I ask Pat if he does private lessons, he said yes but its at La Puente. So from Chino Hills I took my son to La Puente every Saturday for the next 5 years. He is very good with kids and I highly recommend him. My son now 18 enjoys writing songs & performing.
Daniel is an amazing instructor. Not only is he very patient, but he’s an extremely knowledgeable musician. Aside from the fact that he has been a musician for longer than I have been alive, he is constantly pushes his own way of thinking and teaching his students to do the same. He takes a difficult concept and simplifies it into such a way that even beginner guitarists like me can catch on. He’s a great teacher and I would recommend him to anyone looking to learn the basics or sharpen their already advanced skills. You can learn a lot from him.
Lucas is a very talented musician and teacher. He has taught guitar to both of my kids for the past 5 years. He's patient, fun and willing to tailor lessons to the individual's needs and personal goals. My 13 year old son (who has taken lessons with Lucas since 2nd grade) has learned to read notes, play chords and how to improvise on the guitar through his lessons with Lucas. He plays in our church band and does very well.
Bennett has an extraordinary ability to zero in on his student's skills and musical affinities... He has a nerdy, highly precise knowledge of the instrument, of guitar technique and of music history... Months ago I would barely sing with anyone else in the room, and didn't know how to play guitar. This morning I played guitar and harmonized with Bennett on a Stones song. Take music lessons with Bennett - only good can come of it.
John is a great electric guitar teacher. I have a weekly lesson by Skype with him since I live in Geneva, Switzerland. I was a real beginner and had no skills or knowledge in electric guitar and moreover I had no musical education. Johns teaching method is very structured and is based, in the same time, on the technic and on the pleasure to play. John is always able to answer very clearly and very precisely any question I have. He also can explain in a very clear and simple manner how to play a song or to learn a new technic. John is always very motivating and its really fun to learn electric guitar with him. I would recommend John to anybody who would like to learn to play electric guitar or to improve his/her skills in playing electric guitar. In other words, John is a really great electric guitar teacher and I am looking forward every week to having my lesson with him !
Lewis is a fantastic teacher! I can only speak to how he teaches a complete beginner but he makes guitar very approachable and his style makes it feel like progress comes quickly. His teaching tools and pieces are fun and don’t feel like going through a beginner handbook of basic cords and songs. He is great at tailoring his teaching style to your personal interests and musical goals.
Mr. Martinez gave lessons to my daughter for six months. He was really professional and great with my daughter. He gave her intro to guitar lessons that she picked it up really well. He was always punctual, I highly recommend him!
I took lessons with John Notto on and off for about two years. I was a hack guitar player in my teens and twenties and wanted to get back into it in my 30’s- and needed someone who could make it fun and and get me to the next level- I needed someone to keep me accountable, yet understand that it was something I did for funz John first and foremost is a “shoot-from-the-hip” kind-of- guy, with a great sense of humor and is an incredible guitar player . He is equally comfortable teaching Zeppelin as he is Hip-Hop, Phish or the latest hit pop song (he also happens to have played WITH a lot of these artists). John isnt just an amazing player, he’s an amazing Instructor. He’s great at breaking down concepts such as strumming patterns, blues/rock soloing, funk rhythm guitar and accompanying singers. Lessons were both structured with “work” and a part each week devoted to being creative and jamming. I would recommend beginners to advanced to study with John Notto!
