Troy S. says, "We used Thumbtack to find a contractor who could add and modify railings on exterior stairs to fulfill our homeowner's insurance policy requirements. This is a relatively simply job. We got about 5 good responses from Thumbtack. Many of the contractors had high minimum project costs. Many contractors don't want to take a small job like this. Jericho did not have a minimum requirement and was happy to do the job. Jericho provided the best quote for the work. We had really good daily communication as we converged on a project start date. On the start date, a team of 3 people were on-site, and they completed the bulk of the work in 2 consecutive days. The third consecutive day they did extra touch up on the staining and a few extra details. Final cost was very close to the initial quote, and still lower than other contractor's quotes. This job included both brand new rails, and modifying existing rail. All rails looked identical at the end. Thanks to Jericho for the great work, and Thumbtack for connecting us with them. Mendy was awesome to work with. He built an elevated deck that connected an existing deck to my backyard via a steep hill. Not the easiest project with challenging existing conditions to say the least. He was creative and a problem solver. His team also executed very well. They finished the whole project in half the time I thought it would take. Would highly recommend him/them!

Eliseo is top notch in every respect. He is pleasant, personable, responsive, reliable, punctual and he does really good work at a reasonable price. The piers for our large deck had been sinking over time. Eliseo replaced them with much larger and more stable piers that should stand the test of time. He started the job sooner than estimated and finished the job sooner than estimated. He completely cleans up the work site and leaves everything better than it was to start with. His team is just as excellent as he is. We could not be happier. We already have plans for several more projects for Eliseo.

After a careful review of estimates vs. expectations I decided to work with a “smaller” contractor – Ayuuk Construction. I should say that I’m more than happy with the quality of the build for my utility 5x8 deck with safety railing and steps on the steep concrete hill. Despite the quite difficult location for the structure, Javier quickly understood the scope of the work, asked the right questions to make sure the design meets my expectations and is up to the building code. In my case it was an important aspect as other candidates pushed me to inflate of the scope for the project, rather than listen to what I need. The structure was built pretty quickly and turned out to be looking very good. The results definitely exceeded my expectations (and eng-design drawings). The city inspector was happy with the structure as well. Based on my experience, I would definitely recommend Ayuuk Construction to others.
