Last summer I tweaked my knee at a family swim party. I seem to forget that I’m 66 years old! I probably shouldn’t be jumping in to the pool like a teenager. I’m fit for my age and regularly go to our neighborhood gym. The knee pain improved but I was still not 💯 A friend of mine asked if I was working out with a trainer at our gym to focus on my knee, I said “no” I didn’t feel comfortable with that. She then recommended her personal trainer/fitness coach David. I reached out to him in September, the best phone call I’ve ever made! Because we live in the same town, I was able to meet David in person which was nice. He gave me exercises to do, explaining “why” we were making that movement, educating me on muscles etc. David knows what he’s doing and it shows!! Dave took the time to learn what my goals were then, he customized a meal plan and workout schedule to meet my needs. We would text daily and have weekly phone calls for motivation and revision on my schedule. Dave has taught me to reset and be able to push myself and be a better me. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?We begin with a phone consultation to review your goals, past experiences and current struggles/obstacles that are standing in your way from reaching your goals. The more we get to know a new client, the better we will be able to assist them, and early communication is KEY for building a strong foundation!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I received a B.S. in Exercise Science from Valparaiso University and have been certified personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine for the past 14 years. I also hold specialty certifications with N.A.S.M as a weight loss specialist and TRX as an STC (suspension training course) and FTC (functional training course).
