Diane has been tutoring my grandson for two years now. She has taught him to write and read as he was far below grade level when we began to take care of him. She provided sound strategies for him to develop study skills and she continues to work with him to catch him up in mathematics. Diane is a dedicated, caring tutor who is always on-time and prepared. My grandson would not have made it through 2nd and 3rd grade without Diane!
No one does all the things that I do. I do many things; from gardening, teaching to stock trading.
I offer tutoring in multiple subjects from 1st grade through high school. I am independent but contracted through schools in the area working in after school programs, and am going to school to become an elementary school teacher.
I provide basic tutoring for math, English, algebra, general science, and music theory (piano, voice, or wooden flute). I can also provide some special tutoring such as reading (dyslexia), writing (dysgraphia), speech (impediment or other), and behavior (autism, ADD, or ADHD). I am willing to provide my own curriculum if necessary in order to meet specific needs.
Hi. I'm Marjory! I've been tutoring high school and college students for over 3 years. I am particularly passionate about history, English and foreign languages and have helped students develop an enthusiasm and achieve great results in these subjects. I can also tutor in preparation for GED, SAT, and AP tests. I absolutely love being able to help students achieve success academically! My goal with each student is to help them develop the study, writing and test-taking skills they will need to be successful in school and to have them be confident in these skills and abilities. I am flexible with meet-up times and locations in order to provide the best possible learning environment. I have a 12-hour cancellation policy. I am a fluent native Spanish speaker who took AP Spanish and AP Spanish literature in high school. I have been a Spanish tutor for high school students in the recent past. I am also fluent in French, having studied it in high school and college. One of my majors in college was French (for my fluency, I received the Alpha Mu Gamma Award), and I lived a semester abroad in the south of France. I am passionate about languages and would love to help others develop their language skills. I love English language and literature. I am an avid reader and am an excellent essay writer. In college, I took several Honors English writing and literature classes and am very familiar with and knowledgeable about Shakespeare plays. I am great at proofreading written work and give great constructive feedback in terms of both grammar and content and did so often as a tutor to high school and college students. Please contact me if you think that I would be well suited to help you realize your academic potential. I hope to hear from you soon!
Writing what you need written in your voice and to your mission is my specialty. Whether you need sales copy for a blowout on otherwise boring home appliances or a white paper to support a value proposition, I can help. I'm also experienced in editing post-graduate level theses and suggesting overall style and structural improvements, especially to candidates who write in English as a second language. Assistance with outlining, research and thesis formation is also available.
I bring life-changing skills and encouragement into an atmosphere of improvement using motivational challenge(s) and rock-solid positive momentum. In other words, through many years of experience working with people, from teen to adult, I use those truths to build a rock solid foundation for others. Years of gleaning the best of what works and staying on top of cultural changes, main stream and outer fringes, brings a wealth of insight and motivational strategies that clearly set the pace for those that listen and engage the principles spoken. I challenge the few to change the lives of the many in integrity, honor, and respect bringing about change for every medium. I enjoy seeing the success(es) of people (young and old) as they overcome the odds, obstacles, challenges, and then set goals through their own rediscovered identity as a confident and articulate team builder, participant, and or leader. Example: A specific school district had endured 11 suicides of teenage students within a four year period plus others lost to heroin and drug overdoses. Through the methods I taught, and the engagement of the students within the local community and district in these steps, the district has not had one suicide in over five years and drug use is declining greatly. Many organizations came on board during that time, resulting in an agreement amongst nine groups to seek the welfare of the youth, by providing alternatives (after-school programs, community centers, and respect).
