Introduction: I have more than 20 years of experience in tracking/mixing/mastering in a wide variety of musical styles. I became involved in the audio engineering world as a songwriter/recording artist, working my first CD project. When the new studio was being built across town in the early 90's the owner enlisted my services to help with all the wiring for the patch bay, 20,000 soldier joints, along with anything else I could help with. Over the next few years, I learned the business from the ground up and soon began taking on the larger more involved projects. 4 years in, I became the studio manager. I really love working on music and I know being a songwriter/ performer myself really helps in communicating with other musicians. It's also been very beneficial when mixing a new song. My intent when mixing is creating a blend that draws the listener into the story. I look at a mix somewhat like a well-lit and composed photograph, so I always pay attention to the lighting and emotion setting of the piece. These days I do all my mixing on a Daw. With the proper audio tools and an experienced set of ears, I find there many advantages in the digital domain. Having total recall on your consoles setting and being able to see the waveform is a wonderful thing. "Test hire" option is available for all new clients, so you can sample my skills firsthand, which is helpful in building trust and assuring quality production.
