"Established in 2007. I was trained with Berlitz in 2003. In 2007, decided to go solo with Escuela Español when I realized how much I loved teaching Spanish. I realize through the years, that committed students demand much for themselves and stick it out until they get the results they originally desired, hence, I started to offer Package of Classes in Private one- on- one settings to maximize student's learning potential. After having gone to Culinary school in 2013, I now offer Cooking Classes as part of the Curriculum where you can learn not just learn SPANISH, but a Latin American or Spanish dish, as well. In 2014, I started teaching Spanish Community Group Classes that focus on Practical elements like Introductions & ordering food. In 2015, I held the First Spanish Language Immersion in Nicaragua in Managua, where students enjoy daily Spanish Classes & Field Trips to Colonial Cities like Granada and Leon. I have taught many students in San Francisco, London and now Los Angeles. My Service Stands out because I am one of the few schools that offer Field Trips to my students where we enjoy speaking Spanish in a public fun and relaxed atmosphere. In addition, I offer a Service, I coined, called " Spanish Guru Chat" where I speak to my PRIVATE students through out the week on the phone in Spanish for about 10-20 minutes depending on their schedule. What I love about what I do is that every year my school EXPANDS AND EVOLVES. I enjoy seeing my student's faces light up when they finally afer a lot of work and homework and coming to class and doing the work, at last, they speak Spanish. It's a very joyful moment and I am very proud of my students. I also love the wide variety of student's I have come into contact over the years, everyone from student's, lawyers, accountants, acteresses, musicians and people working in Government. It's really a treat to meet so many wonderful interesting people and I learn just as much from my student's as they do from me. It's really a beautiful exchange and rewarding experience. It's is my mission in life to get people to speak Spanish even on the most fundamental basic level. I love what I do and I feel that my enthusiasm and passion not just for the language but the culture rubs off on the student. Here is a bit about my Methodology: KNOWING SPANISH CAN OPEN UP a WHOLE NEW WORLD and VIRTUALLY THE ENTIRE WESTERN HEMISPHERE ! With My Proven Method You Will Be Speaking Spanish your First Class! Whether it’s for Travel or Leisure, perhaps just self -improvement. I offer classes based on students special needs. Whether you want to travel to Mexico to see the Mayan ruins, or are planning a trip to Pamplona, Spain to see the “running of the bulls”, and need some knowledge to communicate with the natives. Whatever the reason, I can help you get to where you want in a little amount of time. With a little self motivation and discipline, under my tutelage, you can reach a higher level of Language Proficiency each and every month. My Methodology: The methodology I employ is an experiential approach that enables students to feel confident in speaking almost immediately. My classes are designed to help the student feel comfortable and to get her/him interacting and speaking with others right away. Share this:"

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What does a Spanish tutor do?

The goal of a Spanish tutor is to help students improve their Spanish reading, writing, comprehension, and conversation skills. The tutor’s approaches may vary, depending on whether the instruction is individual or a group class. Many Spanish tutors practice immersion — meaning they will speak only Spanish with their pupils. For students with little to no Spanish experience, the Spanish tutor may use a mix of Spanish and English to accustom their students to speaking the language.

A Spanish tutor can offer a wide range of services to their students. For students currently enrolled in a Spanish class through their middle school or high school, a Spanish tutor can help them with homework and language practice, as well as expanding their understanding of their current school curriculum. For adults, Spanish tutors will have different approaches based on that student’s need. Academics and those seeking high-level professional development for their career will often have more intensive and targeted lessons, drills, and interactive speaking tests. For adults who wish to learn conversational Spanish for fun or for travel, lessons may revolve around learning commonly used phrases and practicing speaking in relaxed settings.

How much do Spanish tutors charge?

Nationally, the average cost for a Spanish tutor ranges from $30 to $40 per hour. The cost for a Spanish tutor can vary depending on whether you choose private instruction or group lessons. Geographic location can affect cost; tutors in expensive cities and pricier regions command higher rates than in rural areas and small towns. The experience and education of the Spanish tutor will also affect their rates. For adult education, many people learning Spanish choose to join a Spanish school with tutors who teach group classes and also offer private tutoring for students. Typically these schools charge a monthly tuition that gives students access to a set number of classes per week, with private tutoring available at an additional cost. One example of an average cost is a monthly tuition of $200, which includes five 90-minute group lessons per month. Monthly tuition can vary depending on the school and the teachers. Short-term workshops are also a way to learn Spanish. Students may work with a Spanish tutor and group of other students at their skill level for a short period of time. One example of an average price is $100 for an eight-week course, with one 60-minute group class per week.
