I really enjoy working out at Shape up Studio. Gym: Very clean. No bad odors. They don't try to give you heat stroke by keeping it as a sweat box inside. There are clorox wipes everywhere. My trainer Vince really takes pride in the gym, and is constantly wiping things down on his down time. The design of the gym gives you a comfortable feel and flow. The bathrooms are exquisite! They are always clean, smell fresh...I think it's the amazing hand soap, and they just got electric trash cans. Thy gym also has WiFi and televisions. They also have Pandora playing during your workouts. Intake: I have been working out at the studio since August 2014. Your first workout is a training assessment with Markshane. He takes all of your measurements & then gives you a personal training workout with himself to assess your strengths and weeknesses. Boi is that a tough workout! Then you discuss what schedule is best for you and what kind of training. 1 free visit with the on site massage therapist and nutritionist. I do both personal training (2 days/week) and "group" (3 days/week). I put quotes around "group" because the groups are always small. They vary from 2-8ppl, and the workout still feels like personal training!! My trainer Vince also trains the group and I love that everyday is different!!! I love my results and know that without personal training, I could never push myself to get results like my trainer does. The pushing is also subtle. One day your using 5lbs dumbells, then 8 lbs, then 10lbs. Or you're doing deadlifts with 20lbs, then 50lbs. It just happens...lol...no discussion. Also, if you're competitive like myself, working out in the group will motivate you to push harder; do more crunches or squats than the person next to you! Lol. FYI: group is Tue/Thur/Sat- 6pm/6pm/9am. My hope is that this will increase as more people sign up. Also, there's a crazy amount of digital clocks around the gym, unfortunately all of them have a different time.
My workouts with Megan are on a one to one basis, just the way I like it; she adds the support and works with me at the ability level that I can endure…since I have had major surgery on my neck for a severe ruptured disk that almost paralyzed me. As my personal trainer, she motivates and encourages me while adapting fitness routines to meet my individual needs, constantly striving to make your workouts enjoyable. I have really noticed improvements in my upper body strength. Summer time is right around the corner and I know with Mega at Every Body’s Fit, I will be ready. Thanks Megan..
I have never had a personal trainer before, I am a 20 year old female, and Lauren is the perfect trainer for me. She is very encouraging and so caring. She is available 24/7 thru email and text/calls which is so helpful when I need help with workouts, or have any food questions. I had the privilege to work with Lisa Michele and give her program my highest recommendation! The 90-day program put together by Lisa exceeded all my expectations! She taught me different ways to think about food, in terms of eating and preparing food. We also spent time discussing fitness topics, and even though I live in Phoenix, she was able to prescribe an exercise program that helped me meet my fitness and health goals. I finally lost those stubborn last 10 pounds I struggled to lose, strengthened my upper body and I even ran my first 5K race, with her training program, support, and encouragement. Lisa has a friendly personality, abundant energy, empathetic soul, and is a genuinely good person. Her program really worked for me.
In March 2017, I was stuck in my weight loss efforts despite limiting my calories and exercise efforts. Shedding 30+ pounds had been a struggle for years – my weight would yo-yo; sometimes being able to lose a few pounds with deprivation, but the pounds always returned once I started eating again. I was also experiencing fairly severe health annoyances like constant watery eyes and significant swelling in my knees – but my focus was really not on those things; it was on wanting to lose weight. Convinced that my metabolism was permanently stifled due to my age and years of yo-yo dieting (I am 55 years old), I was ready to give up and accept the way I looked and felt as my unfortunate reality. My husband thankfully encouraged me to see a Dietician/Nutritionist, and I found Donna online. My first appointment with Donna was in late March. We decided that I would do a 2 week cleanse (Detox) to rid my body of toxins – it was excruciating (but worth it!), proof that my body was full of bad things. I then went through testing for the LEAP program. The results were very interesting – things I had been eating for years in my efforts to lose weight – like certain fruits, garbanzo beans, cabbage, corn, chicken, and beef – and things like basil, garlic, and peanuts – were identified as intolerances for me. Donna explained that these foods led to inflammation and worked against my weight loss efforts. As well, consumption of these foods was causing/aggravating the other health symptoms I was experiencing. Fast forward to six months later, and while I have not been perfect, I am over halfway to my weight loss goal! Thanks to Donna and the LEAP protocol, I have lost about 20 pounds, the swelling in my knees is noticeably reduced, and my eyes are only occasionally mildly watery. My physical and mental health has improved, and I am aware of how I feel when eating certain foods to the point that I embarked on a 10-week program to give up sugar on August 1st. One of the best things about the LEAP program is that it is not a Diet – this is a Lifestyle Change which I will be able to maintain. I highly recommend Donna and the programs she uses to others struggling with health issues, including the inability to lose weight. It is amazing how much what we ingest affects our health, and it’s not just avoiding those foods we know we shouldn’t eat! I was eating hummus and grapefruit regularly in my prior weight loss efforts, and it turns out those so-called health foods were working against me. This program has been life changing for me, and I am so appreciative for Donna and her true concern about my health.
Andrea Lane has quite simply been an amazing personal trainer for me! She took the appropriate time to understand who I am as a person, my eating and exercise habits as well as my age and physical ability to craft a nutrition and exercise program specific to me. Once I started working with her, the constant pain I had in my back was slowly being diminshed, and my core started to get stronger than it has been in years. I train with Monica for almost a Year, it was so far one the best experience i have with personal trainer. Patience, professional, transparent and well educated. Working with personal trainer Sarah has been an amazing experience for me. I'm a cancer survivor going through chemotherapy and surgeries. I lost so many pounds that I couldn't imagine how skinny I was. Knowing health is more precious than gold, I needed to change my lifestyle. Krista is a personal trainer and does a great job. She listens to her client and then develops a personalized workout program to fit their needs. She knows how hard to push the client to get the needed results, but not so hard that it destroys the spirit. I can not speak any higher for Krista, she is a great trainer and will better you life if you give her the chance. Hire her!!
Maggie provided my partner Jim and I with three months of "maintenance" training while we were out visiting in San Diego over the winter. We trained two days a week for an hour each time. Maggie's routines were varied; she didn't let us get bored or tired of any one thing before mixing it up. Even the session locations varied (county park, beach, multiple neighborhood parks). I would highly recommend Maggie for anyone looking for a quality personal trainer.
I do not even know where to begin. Jessica is not only incredibly intelligent, but she has one of the kindest hearts. I started seeing Jessica because I was having many issues with acne, bloating, and weight loss. Stress was an added factor that was making my symptoms a lot worse. Jessica knew how to recommend specific suggestions in order for me to improve in that area. She provided thorough explanation behind her recommendations and spends a great amount of time getting to know you as a person.
