Somehow reading a book with common-sense dog training tips did not give us confidence. Dee Cee shows you these methods & how they work--but it is up to you to do it over and over till you and your dog get it. Our dog did not have hard issues so were were looking for guidance more than a trainer that would come multiple times. Dee Cee showed us insider tips and all the details..demonstrating with our dog... to give us methods & confidence. She left 2 tools to use as we will continue to work with our dog. We wanted an hour private session in our home to target 3 simple issues and Dee Cee was just what we needed.

KYM IMPROVED QUALITY OF LIFE FOR MY DOG AND I BOTH;SHE IS AWESOME! SHE KNOWS HER STUFF AND IS VERY KIND!Frida is my first dog & considered by some a "problem breed".I rescued her mother & siblings & found then all homes...except Frida, I chose her from the litter.Years before meeting Kym, I read up a bit. I did some things right for my puppy! Icrate trained her, and took her to puppy classes. She was easily potty trained, and trained not to bark, chew or nibble on fingers. She learned to sit, stay, fetch, and high five. She is very loyal& sweet and once scared off an intruder who came in through my kitchen window at night!!!! I thought everything was great. Frida always had a big yard, a bed inside, and always seemed happy. At about 6 years old, we moved to a smaller place. Frida had a dog run &we played often but @ 65 lbs, she needed to go on walks. I then realized what a naughty human I had been. Frida was totally unsocialized, she tugged on her leash, would nip if strangers tried to pet her, disliked children, and refused to come when I called her. She liked to chase motorcycles..skate boards, trucks, & cats.....oh my!I had inadvertently conditioned her to be a yard guard dog. ...with very poor social skills and bad manners. Total nightmare @ the park!I became so worried about her running off and her seemingly aggressive behavior, our walks became very stressful. I felt guilty and stressed!I tried a few trainers who suggested choke chains and various techniques until KYM RESCUED US!!!!! She convinced me to bring my 6 year old dog to puppy classes. I always say Kym trained me and my dog responded quickly. She didn't let me waste anymore time feeling worried our stressed. She was kind, patient, and well informed. It became a simple matter of me learning to understand my dogs needs and behavior. Frida comes when called, doesn't chase cars, and has even spent time at doggy day care with other dogs!!!!! She's even nice to the cable guy! Yet, I'm still confident Frida would stave off any intruders!Kym trained us both well!! I have my sweet best buddy back with more play options than ever! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND KYM FOR ANY DOGGY NEEDS YOU MAY HAVE!!!!

Becky and Charlotte did an outstanding job taking care of our dogs. We did not worry for an instant as they kept us up to date with texts and photos every time they came over to feed, walk and play with our dogs. We are thankful that are usual dog sitters were booked as this gave us the opportunity to use PMPC. We will definitely be switching to Becky and her business! Thanks!

I would recommend this company a thousand times! My dog is very aggressive and suffers from anxiety issues and the dog sitter knew just how to handle her. They are professional, reasonably priced, and genuinely cares for your pet.

Jo stayed with our pets - dog and cat - while we were away. The pets were happy when we returned and the house was in better shape than we left it. I plan to ask Jo to take care of the pets and house when I have to travel again. I highly recommend her to anyone needing a house/pet sitter.

At the last minute I required a sitter for my special needs senior dog Xena. Alicia came over and immediately I knew we had found the right fit. Xena requires lots of potty breaks with the use of a sling which can often scare people and Alicia was happy to take on the challenge. I would recommend her to anyone!

One week after we adopted our 1-year old mini-pinscher, my housemate had to go away on business for a week, and I still needed to go to my 9-5 job, so I was desperate to find a good pet-sitter to come by to walk Russo and spend a little bit of time with him each day. I met Linda through Thumbtack. She came over on Sunday to meet Russo and agreed to come by the next day through Friday to walk him and spend some time with him at our home. She was awesome!! I really like that she would send me a text while I was at work, letting me know how things went, which greatly put my mind at ease. We so appreciated the great service that we have continued to hire Linda to pet sit. She is very intuitive about determining what Russo needs to feel comfortable and sometimes stays a little longer with him, as needed. I really like and appreciate that she has Russo's best interests in mind and that she continues to communicate how the visit went. It might seem like a little thing, but to me that's huge!

This was our first time hiring a cat sitter so my husband & I could go out of town for 2 nights. Kayla did a great job of feeding them, cleaning out their litter boxes , and even playing with one of them. (The other cat is too shy so he hid most of the time, but he was well-cared for.) I left her a list of instructions which she conscientiously followed. I appreciated that she took the time to try to bond with them & make them feel comfortable. She also texted me with a couple of questions & gave me an update on how they were doing. So the next time we go on vacation we will hire her again knowing that our cats will be in good hands.

Finding a responsible, caring and professional dog sitter is more than a pet owner can ask for. Arlene not only asked me all the right questions, but also tuned into all of Odin's subtle yet critical (signals) body language. With this, she successfully assisted and aided his every need. Odin is not just my senior canine, but he also has special needs that require 24hr. care and observation. Arlene's compassion and patience not only put all the animals at ease in my home but her professional demeanor was also reflected through the relationships that she established in my home with my fur babies. Arlene quickly established a connection with my dog and assisted him with all of his needs (getting up, re-adjusting,and going potty) as well as administered all of his meds., not to mention cared for my cats as well. If it were not for Arlene, I would not have been able to take my trip with peace of mind. I plan to use Arlene as a regular sitter and Strongly recommend Arlene as a pet sitter/care giver

My dog was at home alone while my wife and I were working throughout the day. Being at home for five hours at a time. I noticed she was getting bored and in need of extra attention maybe a walk during the middle of the day. I saw Jarod walking other dogs in my neighborhood and decided to look up the company. There rates are reasonable and service is excellent. They spend so much quality time with our dog while we are at work. We can really tell a difference in our dog since they have been seeing her. I would highly recommend Truly TLC if you are looking for a dog walker!!

Barbara was fantastic. Conscientious, capable and kind. She took care of a nineteen year-old cat that needed 4 types of medication and sub-cutaneous fluids twice a day. And our beloved cat actually gained weight!!! Plus walking and pampering two dogs. She sent us pictures and texts, staying in communication, and watered our plants and left the house in great shape. She's a responsible person who is home most of the time. Can't recommend her enough.

Patricia stayed at our house for three weeks to care for our two dogs, Lola and Banjo. Since this was Patricia's first time with our dogs, she suggested coming over at least twice before our trip to get acquainted with our dogs. I thought that really showed her attentiveness and concern about our dogs. It also gave me an opportunity to observe how she acted with the dogs. Well, she was fantastic. Patricia is really sensitive to the dogs' temperaments and preferences. She gives them time to get comfortable with them. When we returned from our trip, it was the first time that the dogs weren't insanely excited to see us. Happy, but not overexcited. I attribute that to the fact that they were comfortable, well taken care of and got lots of attention from Patricia. Patricia followed all of our instructions to the letter. She was at our house all of the time. She took care of all of the dogs' medicine needs exactly as asked. You could not find a more responsive house/pet sitter than Patricia.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

  • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
  • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
    • 45-minute visit: $28.
    • 60-minute visit: $32.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
    • 12 hours: $100.
    • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
