Hired her for acting lessons, great to work with and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend, looking forward to our future lessons!
We highly recommend Lois For tutoring. She is well known in Honolulu and has years of experience. She tutored our granddaughter when she needed to take the entrance exams into private schools. Lois has great knowledge of children and skill in getting them to do their work. Her lessons were challenging and fun. Our grandaughter could hardly wait to return to her next session. We wish Lois was here to tutor our grandaughter in her college SATS. Carol Lehman
Kenshaka gave me acting lessons via video chat which is already a difficult task, but he was a great guide and mentor regardless of those obstacles. He is also very flexible and willing to be available for help outside of the scheduled lesson times. Excellent teacher and I would recommend him to others!
Joanne is a very intuitive coach. As a beginner adult, I was nervous and unsure of my abilities. Joanne took the time to assess my skill level and created a curriculum and acting exercises tailored to fit me! I've learned it's okay to be nervous, it's okay to let go and have fun. I am actually having fun taking Skype lessons and I am learning how to be authentic and real. Joanne keeps in touch between lessons to send me articles to read that will help me as well as answering questions. I couldn't be happier with my choice to hire Joanne. I'm very grateful.
My daughter needed an acting coach to help her prepare for an audition to a performing arts high school. My daughter loved working with Carolyn and her coaching made all the difference. My daughter was accepted to the performing arts school and Carolyn's coaching, guidance, and advice not only taught my daughter acting skills but helped her feel confident about her acting abilities.
During the time of operation of Let The Kids Grow Los Angeles, California 2013-2014. I had the privilege of working with and managing Mrs. Tracy Pfau, she was our head Acting instructor. She had the tasks and duties of working with underprivileged children of the community to help them stay off the streets and into the classrooms. She was able to work with children that possessed some knowledge of acting to complete beginners. She was professional and always uplifting to the children and respected them in a professional and caring manner as if they were her own. She not only taught them the basics fundamentals of acting but she showed them the professionalism and seriousness of the business surrounding a acting career. The ages of the children ranged from 4-17. As this was a after school program she would always be ready with a lesson plan and would not mind helping after hours if needed. I have learned that to be a great instructor you need to first have a great heart and a seriousness to the profession, and Mrs. Pfau is the total package as she is a great instructor and a great mentor and even after the program finished she was still willing to work with the children on a personal basis to really help these children accomplish their goals in the acting profession. I would be more than happy to recommend Mrs. Pfau in any future projects as I do not recommend people unless I really believe in them.
I can't even put into words how amazing a teacher Sean is. The best way to explain it is to tell about my recent experience in a student film and the results I see from his coaching. It's easy to say you are learning from someone but a completely different thing to be able to put those skills into practice and see the results. So many of the things I accomplished that day on set would not have been possible without the skills Sean taught me. Before “action” on one scene, I caught myself questioning my character's actions and motives and heard Sean's voice in my head reminding me to not judge the character. This bit of remembered wisdom reminded me to focus on empathizing with and being the character rather than judging her. It helped me to become the character rather than just myself portraying the character. There were multiple shots in this film where I had to cry, something I was extremely nervous about and had never been able to do on camera before. But I did as Sean taught me, and the tears came naturally. Without Sean's coaching, my emotions and the tears would not have felt or looked authentic. Sean's acting lessons have helped me immensely, and I am so thankful for everything I have learned from him. I would recommend Sean as a teacher for anyone who is serious about being an actor.
Bonnie is fantastic! Really understands the male voice. Looking forward to continuing to work with her.
Working with Mary is always a positive experience for me. I've been acting for many years but I learned so much from Mary about how to develop my character and how to make the audience see and feel what I'm trying to say, not only with my words, but with my actions. This has helped me allot in several roles I've had since working with her. Thanks Mary!! You've made me a better and more confident actor!
Actors Youth Academy is a great school to improve or begin to learn Spanish and acting skills (or a combination of the two). The teachers are passionate and insightful, experienced in their fields, and able to provide constructive and insightful feedback. This is a great place to learn, amongst the talented students and the inspiring instructors, and I highly recommend giving them a call right now!!
David Rountree from LA Acting Studios is the best teacher in Los Angeles-- hands down! I am amazed of his knowledge and the experience he shares from his time so far in the Industry. I love learning from him! He is definitely not to be missed if you're serious about Acting or would just like to raise your confidence level. He has a way of connecting to you that is very heartfelt and sincere.
Funny! He did a great job with making it personal and getting the birthday man involved.
Patricia Merrill has helped me to improve my singing by leaps and bounds since I first began taking lessons from her a year and a half ago. My family say that they notice such a difference between my singing before I started lessons with her and after. Patricia knows what she is doing and is very professional. She knows the ins and outs of singing and plays the piano very well, which is an absolute necessity for a voice teacher. She is also extremely kind and patient, and gives solid advice based on her student's individual strengths and weaknesses.
Working with Monique was the best. She's extremely encouraging, while not shying away from giving constructive feedback to help me grow as a voice actor. She is very thorough, not only with teaching acting skills, but also with going over how the business works. This included what do to during auditions, how video resumes should look, creating a vision for the future, and owning your talent! I've put off becoming a voice actor for years, not even getting into a class. But Monique taught me that I can do anything I put my mind to, and if I believe that I can make a career out of voice acting, then it'll happen. 10 out of 10, would recommend.
Jessica Payne is an extraordinary talented teacher and coach.Specially she helped me with my acting and singing.I was a little bit nervous going into the lesson, but she did a great job of making me feel relaxed and setting up a safe and friendly atmosphere. She knew what she walking about. We spent time working on technical aspects of singing and acting(breath support, resonance, intention given, given circumstances,etc.). Then we talked a little bit about the artistic aspects of performance.Near the end we chatted about wardrobe choices and common mistakes that people make in auditions and on set.It was an extraordinary helpful lesson and now I use what I learned all the time. I highly recommend Jess to other performers, and I will use her again. Thanks for listening!!
Awesome place for kids to learn and master the art of music... My daughter took guitar, piano and voice lessons... Unfortunately we had to move and she can no longer attend... I wish they would open a location near Riverside so my daughter could continue with her art education... If you're looking for professional and affordable music classes for your kids then Piano Place Music and Arts Center is the right place for them. I am happy that my daughter had the opportunity to be a student at this family owned music school and I hope she can come back in the near future..... Beautiful family and very nice/professional teachers!
Michelle Delgado changed my daughters life! My daughter Samantha was terrified of speaking in public. She had a fear of being recognized and she lacked confidence. Samantha played a warrior in of one of Michelles plays. She had to be a strong leader, a brave leader with a voice that all could hear. The first few times she wanted to quit, she didnt think she could pull it off. With Michelles guidance and support my daughter had a successful performance! She went from not having a voice to becoming a leader! The best thing of all is that it didnt stop with her performance. This past school year she decided to run for class president. In the beginning she went back to her old habits and didnt know if she could speak publicly in front of so many students! The next day she ran up to me and said, Mom, I can do this! I remember everything that Michelle taught me. She taught me how to speak up and use my voice. She taught me how to be strong and brave. I can do this! Well guess what? She is now class President! I know that this would not have been possible without Michelle's support. Sarah Marshall

Acting for film and TV is a practical application of the techniques students will learn in these acting classes. Our film and TV class explores the various forms of the medium technically and artistically: script analysis, the rehearsal process, scaling the character's levels of expressiveness, and revealing the inner life in close-up. Every week, every student will learn to break down a scene, actor attack it, apply our lesson directly by putting it down on camera, watching it back, and if time permits, doing it again with new actor choices you will learn. This class is perfect for every actor who really needs to hone the skills he already has, builds audition rhythm, and releases nerves in a positive way. Scenes will be provided from current television and films auditioning that current week.
I train actor's voice and acting for TV, film, and theater. We had two Broadway shows recently. We also have major theater training programs in New York.
I provide a fun and safe learning environment. I work with the individual to make them meet their goals no matter how demanding. If you want to tackle that song that you love and become better on your instrument, I will be there for you pushing you in the exact direction that you need to go because I've been there. If you want to learn more about how to read and write music, I can help you make those symbols come to life and sound beautiful. The curriculum I will provide will have you feeling ready to perform.
