I can't say enough about my experience with Ken. He is very intuitive. His lessons are balence between exercises and therory. I have alway found myself mentally stimulated, with plenty of work for my fingers. He is very energetic and reaches out between lessons to give you more music to play with. His warm and friendly personality make the lessons fly by. He also willing to work through tought topics without cutting the lesson short (schedule permitting ). I really appreciate his effort into his students. He has also been pretty flexible with my shedule. As an adult these are not the piano lessons I hated as a child. Lol

We have enjoyed having Maureen as our family's music teacher throughout the past 8 years. My daughter has taken piano and violin lessons with Maureen and has been doing a great job. She is playing classical music on violin in school and in YOSAC (Youth Orchestra of Southern Alameda County). On piano this is her second year participating in the classical music Certificate of Merit program, a rigorous evaluation that includes performance, sight-reading, technique, ear training, and music theory. She is also learning to play the blues and jazz, as well as learning to compose music. My son started taking flute lessons with Maureen in 2009 and advanced through the levels very quickly. He plays flute in YOSAC (Youth Orchestra of Southern Alameda County). He also plays saxophone and tried out and was selected for the Alameda County Honor Band. Maureen worked with him on jazz theory and improvisation and he plays in the jazz band at school. With Maureen, he worked through all six levels of Master Theory and was ready to study college level AP Music Theory at 14 years old. He also completed the MTAC (Music Teacher's Association of California) Composer's Today workbooks and used to write his own music and participate in composition contests. Both of my children have been able to successfully participate in the LaHonda Summer Music Camp. We have had a great experience with Maureen and have enjoyed seeing her each week.

I've done 4 lessons with Ben so far and it's been great! He is a super warm and energetic person that gets me excited about my voice and growing my abilities! And I definitely feel that my singing has improved in this short time period with his help. I would definitely recommend him to others.

Anne is truly delightful as a voice teacher and a person ~ funny, sweet, and EXTREMELY knowledgeable and experienced in vocal training/music. Her studio ~ Interval: The Next Step ~ truly is an all-service vocal gym which works both the physical and mental aspects of voice and performance. Initially Anne started me on a range of different and effective exercises to strengthen and tone my voice ~ just as one would for muscles in the gym! Some of these included: "Vocalise" (voice + exercise), sustaining tones, projecting, as well as using body movement and facial expression to encourage and enhance the sound. In addition to breathing and body position, I had no idea one's voice could be so heavily influenced by the mouth and neck position. To continue my music education Anne has taught me about theory, rhythm, music history and basic composition, everything from sight reading, to basic note recognition (for which she has a fun flash card game). Although I had taken piano lessons as a child, I had not studied music since then. Anne was able to take my basic knowledge and expand upon it /fill in the gaps to give me a solid base on which to build a true vocal style of my own. Anne's teaching style is hands on, direct and thorough. She not only knows her subject inside out but is able to cater her teaching style to suit me and my needs, interests, and goals. She explains everything in detail so I know the background of why I am doing something and that helps me remember and correct it if it is wrong. Every lesson is different and she almost always has something new to teach me or a new exercise to embark on. It also doesn't hurt that she herself has an amazing voice so that is very inspirational for me during my lessons. She is very warm and makes me feel really comfortable ~ amazing considering I had never sang in front of anyone before. Because of her demeanor I am not even embarrassed when I am out of tune! After less than 3 months my range has now expanded a full octave! My technique has improved, and I am beginning to stage mini "performances" for Anne to critic in preparation for what I have planned. Not only am I sounding exceedingly better but I am actually finding it easier to sing! Thank you, Anne!

Leah Diamond is a loving and dedicated mentor. Her lessons are highly personalized and leave me with no doubts that she is giving me her full attention. I always feel safe to be emotionally vulnerable, a feeling that I have come to learn is a key part of growing as an actor. Although she focuses a lot on the more abstract concepts of becoming a good actor, Leah is also very knowledgeable when it comes to the concrete aspects of the business. She aided me in building a better resume and helped me connect to networks where I can market myself in order to work and gain experience. She is extremely adept at fostering growth through personal exploration, creativity, and imagination. I am a better and more confident performer thanks to Leah!

Joel has been providing my teen daughter with acting and audition coaching. He provides a learning environment that is both challenging and stress free, and we have seen her grow as an artist. Joel is kind and funny, and makes my daughter feel confident to experiment with character development and new acting techniques. Her confidence has grown and so have her skills.

Overall, LPAA and their staff are outstanding. Since my daughter has joined the academy I have seen her skills and techniques improve tremendously. She is excited about class and doesn’t want to miss it for anything!! The teachers are passionate about their craft and it translates in their excellent teaching skills. LPAA is the place to be if you are looking for an academy that caters to your whole child. The academy is teaching my daughter everything from technique, to performance acts, to how to read music! The academy is awesome and I am excited about what the future holds for it. I am a proud parent of LPAA and if you are looking for a performance academy that will help develop and mold your child all while having fun, I suggest you check out LPAA.

Both of my children have taken classes through the Lead Tree! They began with audition workshops and moved onto more intense character development with Michael. I would recommend this program to everyone! Michael not only provides invaluable audition techniques and tools, but he also builds confidence. Regardless of whether or not either of my children continue with acting, we will continue with these classes because they are teaching my kids to be confident, composed public speakers. And that is a tool that every child needs.

I wanted to get acting and singing lessons, mostly for myself and to be able to perform within my family and friends. Valerie helped me reach the confidence and skill level that I was looking for, all this with great enthusiasm and fun activities!
