I'm not the greatest in writing reviews. All I can say, is that Stephen is great. He applies the correct pressures. I'm not in pain afterwards like othe massages I received in the past. Yet the "knots" and "kinks" are improved. My massages are excellent. I just want to take a nap afterwards! Stephen is the complete package I was looking for - wholistic, Reiki, yoga etc.
I've loved yoga for a long time and I really wanted to deepen my practice. I took Holly's vinyasa flow class at Equinox. I loved her style and we decided to work together one on one. Now Im doing hand stand at the wall! I really appreciate how Holly breaks down the poses and, even when Im thinking "no way", she always helps me experience what part of the pose i CAN do. Its super fun and empowering.
Lisa is a wonderful yoga instructor. She's knowledgeable and cares about her clients' success and well being.
My husband and I celebrated our 50th birthday with friends and hired Carolena to come and instruct yoga for us. Carolena showed up on time, was very professional and brought a beautiful energy to our group. Her instructing was easy to follow and well put together. We all came from varying levels of yoga and Carolena did a wonderful job instructing to a mixed group. We wouldn’t hesitate to work with Carolena again! K. Hayes
I've been practicing yoga with Chevelle for over a year, its definitely been a trip growing next to her. She encourages mindfulness, which is clearly communicated in her teaching. She gives personal attention to her students, even in a large class setting - making it easier to reach your goals whether they be physical, emotional or spiritual. I recommend Chevelle to anyone looking to learn and grow through their yoga practice!
I especially appreciate Angela's skills in helping me deal with my physical limitations. By altering poses or using props, she always attends to my specific restrictions (and does the same for her other students). Thanks to Angela, I can do more poses to greater benefit. She has literally helped make my yoga practice bigger.
I have been exercising at The Works since it began as a coop about 13 years ago (and before that in its previous incarnations). The morning classes are great - by which I mean challenging, never boring, fun and always changing. We have had consistently excellent aerobics, pilates, and yoga teachers and Sarah, our manager, keeps the studio running without a hitch. The atmosphere is upbeat, encouraging and friendly. It is a beautiful, airy, clean, well-lighted place to workout and dance. I can't recommend it enough - both to potential exercisers, dancers and to renters. Come and try it out!
Isometric Monkey Yoga - IMY- is fun, accessible, and challenging. The synthesis of Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga, dance, and martial arts principles, IMY is a non-impact, aerobically efficient alternative to weight lifting and passive stretching. Isometric exercises and resistance stretching place the emphasis on muscle growth, separation, and definition. Monkeying around in the Asanas, slides the muscle sheaths independently, melts fascial binding, engages new muscle fibers, and increases proprioceptor nerve growth, making the body long, strong, supple, flexible and agile. You will laugh, sweat, and be sore the next day, good sore. Effort and intelligence evolve the monkey, transforming pain into pleasure and restrictions into abilities. The first monkey rule is to do what you like, and dont do what you dont like. All of our teachers will help any willing student to modify the Asanas to make the positions and sequences easier and simpler, or more challenging and complex. Please view the Photos Page on the MYS website to get an idea of the Asanas and sequence.
Technology and nature can be like oil and vinegar, but it does not have to be. Live holistically and tranquilly in today's world. I am certified in yoga because yoga solves everything. Ask me.
I enjoy working with individuals and small groups because it allows me to best customize each session so that we can achieve maximum benefits in minimum time.
I take private and corporate clients offering hands on yoga instruction. My classes are a power vinyasa flow that focus deeply on breath but will give you a deep cardio workout, toned strength and flexibility.
I provide in-home nutrition consultations to improve eating habits and health as well as yoga lessons which give everybody an opportunity to learn respect for their own body. Classes will be focusing on teaching the different yoga poses to increase flexibility, strength and balance. Also, students will be learning breathing techniques to foster a mental peace and better concentration.
I specialize in vinyasa flow with focus on alignment. Unique classes for individuals are based on principles of yoga. I teach breathwork; core strength; meditation; and focus on mind, body, and spirit.
I love teaching small groups. I prefer to do private lessons for a maximum of three people at any point in time.
I bring yoga to my students in a way that opens their mind to a new way of seeing the way their body works. It is amazing. My teaching style stands out because I focus on alignment and give accurate adjustments. I am patient and will never judge my clients. I truly believe that yoga is for everyone.

I have been practicing yoga since I was a 8 years old. I have now more than 15 years of experience practicing yoga and teaching it. I have reaped the benefits of this amazing art and now want to share the joy with others. I have seen yoga helping and reaching out to people belonging to all age brackets, affecting their health, mind and body. It helps cure asthma, PCOS, control BP, etc. I am able to control my BP and symptoms of PCOS by practicing yoga. I want to reach out to everyone out there who are facing health troubles due to overweight or people who want to get in shape after pregnancy or people who want to lose the overall fat, yoga is the solution. It helps one lose the water content from the body and build muscle. An inch lost on the body is visible just within 1 month of practice. All one needs is the right asana, proper instruction and regular practice. I have confidence and experience to make it happen for my clients.
We teach art, dance, music, and yoga, from infants through 7-year-old children, at over 250 locations in the Bay area.
