Elder Jerez, designed and built an incredible landscape surrounding our home. Before beginning his drawings, he interviewed us to make sure his project would match our vision and lifestyle. Our landscape is very low maintenance and great on water conservation. In California, that is essential. The color scheme of the plants, rock, and hard scape matched perfectly with our house. Plus, the artistic design of the brick that lined the plants, and the brick patterns that were interspersed with the stamped concrete contributed to the great curb appeal. Elder and his talented crew are very professional, reliable, and are a pleasure to work with. What sets him apart from the typical landscape designer, is that he has an Architectural, Landscape, and Civil Engineering background. Therefore, from choosing the plants, understanding the soil and environmental conditions, to the technical designs, underground and street level, I consider him to be the on par with the highly upscale developers. At the same time, he is very good about working out a payment plan. I was so amazed with his beautiful work combined with his technical abilities. It was worth it.
As a GC myself, Fady has been a great architect to work with. He has a commanding knowledge of building codes and regulations which helps keep the builder out of any trouble. He also pays close attention to details when it comes to his drawings. Any questions that do arise throughout the course of a job, his response time is immediate and always looking to help get the job done as efficiently as possible.
We were new to this area and wanted a designer which would work well with the architect and contractors we had already hired. Deborah was gracious and delightful to work with. She worked beautifully with everyone and created an absolute haven for us. Living in Southern California along the Gold Coast is a beautiful luxury. The finishes, furnishing and accents Deborah suggested are so wonderfully tied together. We are amazed everyday and feel we are in our lovely European resort (where we were traveling). Thank you Deborah for all your gorgeous work and effort to make our home so comfortable and serene. You have been so accommodating and great to work with. We love our home so much! Laguna Beach, CA
I have worked with many building designers and Reza is unique in that he listens to his clients and tries to incorporate their ideas into a design that is practical and functional. He has an easygoing personality, accommodates changes, and has many contacts in the building trades. He obtained all of the necessary permits for me and helped legalize an unpermitted addition. I will definitely use his services again.
Blair has been great. We are lucky to be able to work with someone so professional and responsive. You will not find such a responsive architect on his level without spending 4-6x the price. Thank you!
Roland and Yukie did a phenomenal job - we were on a tight schedule and needed to take an empty roughly 2000 square foot space and transform it into a furniture showroom for our company and hired Scales Lab Architects to manage the project completely - they did a great job in analyzing our brand and presenting us with a layout that they felt would be best for the showroom, while also acting as construction managers and hiring contractors from their professional network to carry out the vision impeccably. Their professionalism, diligence and positive attitude made Scales Lab Architects a pleasure to work with from start to finish and we couldn't ask for a better final product with our showroom.
I eagerly, urgently recommend Martin Roy Mervel as your architect. He has the right combination of talent, taste, and persistence to help you build the house of your dreams. My wife and I are the proud owners of a 1935 Spanish revival home. We love it dearly -- its character, its charm, its "soul". In fact we love everything about it...except for the fact that it has only two bedrooms and one bathroom. Not the ideal arrangement for a growing family! We knew that we needed to add a new bedroom and a new bathroom, but we had no idea where to start. The house added a particular challenge, in that it sits on a long, narrow lot. We are so grateful that we found Martin, because this challenge did not phase him in the slightest. He spent countless hours studying every detail of the house, learning its nature, its "energy". Learning what made it special to us. He even climbed into the attic to get a better understanding of how the roof was constructed. It was like watching a surgeon at work! Thanks to this meticulous attention to detail, Martin was able to provide a number of amazing options, opening our eyes to the design opportunities contained within our walls. He embraced the nature of our long and skinny house, and he found possibilities for hallways and closets and vestibules in areas that we had never even considered. After a number of design proposals, we settled on our favorite. But Martin was not done yet...he continued to work tirelessly on the project, proposing aesthetic details such as wall sconces and tile layouts. He was also there every step of the way during the City of Glendale's design review and approval process. The city paid him perhaps the greatest compliment of all, when they approved his blueprints without a single change. Our city planner told us that such a complete success on the first pass is unheard of! Now, with the end of our project in sight, my wife and I love our "new" three bedroom, two bath home. It still has all the charm that made us fall in love with it in the first place, but it now has all the extra space that it once lacked. And most importantly: I DEFY ANYONE TO POINT OUT WHERE THE OLD HOUSE ENDED AND THE NEW CONSTRUCTION BEGINS! The new rooms are so well integrated into the language of the house, it seems like they belonged there all along. We could not be happier about our project. And we owe it all to Martin.
Paul was extremely professional, reliable, responsive, and always made time to speak regarding anything pertaining to his job. He is a true professional who helped me get through a difficult legalization process. I would give Paul my absolute highest recommendation for anyone looking for a quality and reasonable architect.
After the first meeting and explaining to the architect what I wanted with a simple, yet functional patio cover, he took the concept and presented the plans, ready to have the city's approval. It is very nice to work with people that show skin the game.
Lucia is an extremely talented individual with a vision that will you leave you speechless. Her attention to detail is off the charts and has all the attributes of what defines success. Founded in 2004 by Mark Bittoni, Bittoni architects is a full-service architectural practice predicated on the simple notion that architecture is both an artistic and social endeavor and, with that, has the potential to enhance the way we experience the world around us. Our work is idea driven with a strong emphasis on research and analysis. It is our belief that with a thorough investigation of the problem, context, and culture, we can create solutions that give way to new forms of expression and interaction that are unique to each of our projects. Our goal is to unlock the latent potential within each project. We are not interested in styles, but rather an awareness that each project begins in a particular moment in time and is anchored by relevancy and physical and cultural immediacy.

We take architecture as a psychological issue - the piece of land, an edifice or a structure as being utilized the same way it should create certain emotions to the viewer, mentally connecting it with the state of sculptural expression. Our design work is based on extensive brainstorming, where depending on the type of client, category building, materials chosen, landscaping, and urban attitude a particular process methodology is implemented. Each project is approached with its own specificity, uniqueness, and the process of designing is the one which brings to it its own architectural handwriting. In the Studio 3D, different computer software allow exploring in very depth each detail and not a little corner is left without being carefully studied. We thoroughly believe also in the sustainable design philosophy that this is the future where architecture goes, and we stay firmly behind it. The sustainable architectural design has to go hand by hand with renewable energy, and give a better future for the next generation. The project budgeting and value analysis are looked under scrutiny to be able to lower the cost as much as possible, without compromising the quality of the design in both highly-competitive private and cost conscious government sectors. Working tightly with cost estimators and surveyors, the office takes it with main responsibility that the project is executed precisely, within the budget, and in the time frame.
I have great vision for design and have the technical ability to get the job done. I would love to assist with a graphic or architectural project that might come my way.
