"I have learn so much from Beany beyond health and fitness. When I first joined The Boxing Club, I felt intimated the idea of the "gym." I also pretty much ate without any consideration to my health. I knew I was pre-diabetic so I needed to make a change. I started my fitness journey by doing boxing and kickboxing classes. I finally started to feel comfortable going to the gym on a regular basis. However, I was not loosing weight because my nutrition was still not in track. I joined a 3 month challenge to incentive myself to loose weight. I started to make small changes in my diet and saw small results. A month in to my 3 month challenge, I was introduced to Beany. When we started training, we trained twice a week and I received a meal plan. Beany pushed me to my limits every session. I was pushed to limits I did not know I could even achieve, but Beany believed in me. She motivated and helped keep me on track. It was challenging, but the pounds came off. By the end of the challenge, I lost 6.8 percent body fat and 18 pounds. I came in second place and I was so happy all the hard work paid off. I continued to train with Beany and I ended up loosing a total of 35 pounds. Beyond the numbers, I gained so much for that journey. I learned that I was stronger, mentally and physically, than I thought. I also learned to love and respect my body. Beany helped spark this in me. About a year later, I kept this weight off and continue my health and fitness journey."
