I've had a phenomenal experience with Spanish 55. I feel that my Spanish is dramatically improved and I am able to not only discuss complicated issues, but I am also able to connect with my patients on a much more personal level. As a resident physician, my schedule can be very busy, but Spanish 55 is great with working with you and I am still able to advance my language skills on a regular basis. Highly recommend this service if your are looking to bring your Spanish skills to the next level.

Honestly I have never had more fun learning a language it was taught in a way that was practical and could be understood by everyone in the classroom where it was taught. But i felt confident to speak and understand the lanague as a result of his teaching.

Fabian is an excellent Spanish teacher. His lessons are engaging and well paced, but always fun - definitely not all rote memorization. I highly encourage anyone that is interested in learning to speak Spanish to take lessons with Native Tongue: Professional Instruction.

I've been a student at PBO for over 3 years and my Spanish has improved dramatically! Caro is GREAT and she knows what she's doing. She is creative, smart, fun, and has managed to attract great students who are enjoyable to be with in class. She uses the perfect combination of instruction, coaching and guided conversation. Grammar lessons? Vocabulary? Verb conjugation? Yes, yes and yes. But there are also games, stories, music, show-and-tell, jokes, idioms, word usages, and lots of conversation - structured and informal. One of the aspects I appreciate most about class is the opportunity to about the cultural significance of language and important country-to-country differences. Caro is a delightful person and I highly recommend taking a class from her if you're looking for a Spanish-learning environment that is productive and focused, but also fun and supportive.

Some years ago Carrie was recommended to me as a first rate Spanish teacher. I after one lesson I was grateful for the referral. She is the most skilled language teacher I have had and was able to quickly evaluate my level of competence in the language and address the areas where I needed work. As a result I saw immediate progress in my ability to speak, write and understand the language. For those who are serious about learning Spanish, Carrie is the perfect teacher.

I typically meet with Cara once a week(schedule permitting) for French lessons. We discuss everything from grammar, native phrases, business, and most importantly I feel prepared for my trip to France. I highly recommend Cara for anyone who is a Francophile, planning a trip to the City of Lights, or someone who wants to enhance their knowledge of the language. Better yet, Cara can do lessons in Spanish, Italian, as well as piano. She is a great tutor, kind and patient and you will find your time spent with her to be rewarding!! I highly recommend!

I have taken private lessons with Evelyn to refresh my advanced conversational skills. Evelyn comes prepared to our session, and always make sure to take you out and over your comfort zone. She makes the session interesting by introducing reading material on different subjects, discussing them with open end questions, analyzing the grammar and applying lessons learned to your own individual situation. She makes learning fun and challenging at the same time!

Christine Hebert is the most conscientious, best prepared, pedagogical language teacher I have ever worked with. I have worked with Christine on two separate occasions. I hired Christine 12 years ago to teach my children French and a year ago to teach me German. Thanks to Christine, my children who are college students now obtained a solid base in French and still sing the French songs she taught them back then while accompanying them on her guitar. As for myself, Christine custom-prepared German lessons for me keeping up with my demanding style and requirements to where she would email me after only a few weeks into our lessons Hermann Hesse poems. Christine modifies the level, the speed and the style of her teaching sessions to fit her student's needs, personality and mood. She is truly a gem of a language teacher and I recommend her highly. Patricia has given English lessons to our 3 children, 2 hours a day, for 2 months in May and June 2015 in France. As French native speakers, the objective was to make them all feel at ease in English (spoken and written) in order to join an international English speaking school in September. Camille, 13 years old, had already some school knowledge of English, and Sarah, 11 years old, had very few knowledge of English. Despite of that, the 2 girls decided to take the lessons together and Patricia adapted very well to the level of each girl, making them feel as taking nearly private lessons, sharing perfectly her time between the 2 girls. She was able to use the strengths and weaknesses of each girl to build a team spirit to achieve each of them goal : good communication skills for interpersonal relations and a good written level to adapt to academic learnings. Cyrille, 7 years old, didn't have any knowledge of English and the objective was to get him used to listen and understand basic English. Again Patricia succeeded in this goal perfectly. Cyrille was very scared to start his first lesson and did not want to go, but after all he did not want the first lesson and all the others to stop ! Patricia was always extremely patient, enthusiastic, positive, constructive and fun all the time ! The children did theoretical exercices, as well as some practical ones, such as cooking or shopping, and of course lots of conversation. They all loved the lessons with her. Today, after one month of schooling in English, we can confirm that Patricia’s lessons were very helpful and allow our children to succeed in getting well-adapted to their new environment and working methods. Therefore, I highly recommend Patricia as a tutor as she is highly competent, efficient, and able to adapt to all type of levels and ages, from young boy to teenager.

Buongiorno! Buenos Dias! Hello! I am an expert foreign language teacher with over 15 years of experience teaching, learning and using languages for business: writing, editing, interpreting and translating. I am passionate about languages and how they enrich our lives. I approach language teaching or learning contextually, rather than grammatically, with a student-centered focus. What does that mean? That means my teaching method is highly interactive, and I will get you talking right away, and learning to use and appreciate a language through topics and materials relevant to your life; and through music, film, culture, and real-life content, based on your needs and interests. See my website for student testimonials and my tips on language learning. I offer: * Private Lessons in person and live online * Travel workshops * Classes * Weekly Italian Study Group I teach: * Adults * Children * Students * Home-schoolers * Business people * Travelers I am proficient, fluent and have mastery in Italian, Spanish, and English. The advantages of learning a language online are many; first of all, results. Many online students report they are better able to concentrate on the lesson. During our classes, I'll have you talking, listening, reading and writing. Hearing the live voice of a proficient speaker through your headset makes a huge difference. There are no interference from classmates or external noises to interrupt you. Plus, I use the chat board to type new words, questions, and sentences to accompany the words that are spoken. Skype even allows me to share files, views of my screen, and guide you to useful sites on the internet.

About

My name is Stephen Riley, and I am a traveling music and English teacher. Along with my wife, Annelisa Riley, I have been working for the past two years to hone in on what makes the English language easy for some and hard for others. After working in China for a year teaching English to students ranging from age 1-12, Annelisa and I began dreaming and scheming of ways to improve the process of learning English while having a lot of fun. Both Annelisa and I have been deeply moved by music and involved in the creation of music from early in life. Now, we believe we have found a way of teaching that speaks for both us as teachers and you as students. Everyone loves music, and everyone needs to communicate to have long-term success. Our curriculum uses classic folk music and contemporary songs to bring the student deeper into the English language. By focusing on the poetic lyrics of folk music, we are able to bring the student a more compulsory understanding of how to form sentences and adequately express themselves. Then we begin working with the student on learning to play some of these songs, focusing on guitar chords, strumming patterns, and for the more experienced students, harmonica playing. Finally, we work with the student to create an original piece of music in English that they can be proud to call their own work of art. Riley School of American Folk Music is not just about learning to speak the English language. It is about learning to create.

As the official language of the 22 Arab states, Arabic language plays a major role in day-to-day life. For non-native speakers of the language in other countries, it could really set you apart in business and help you to impress or work with some of the senior companies and government bodies. As with all languages, there are many dialects. For Arabic, the common is the modern standard Arabic or the MSA. The Arabic Language Studies Center or the ALSC takes care of almost all the major dialects in use such as the Levantine Arabic, which is the dialect of Levant region, including Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine/Israel, Iraqi/Gulf Arabic, Yemeni Arabic, Egyptian and Sudanese Arabic and the Arabic of North Africa or Al Maghrib Al Arabi States. These dialects include some different accents. As a San Diego center, the ALSC takes care of the MSA and other Arabic dialects in teaching and researching.
