Amin was reliable and conscientious in his communication and arrival. He did a number of projects, including patching plaster and replacing baseboards, fixing closet doors and a french door that was not closing. He was less successful with replacing dimmer switches in the kitchen but the handyman that subsequently replaced them explained that they were tricky as the original electrician that installed them did not properly identify the hot wire. Communication was tough at times but overall, Amin did a good job.
Thanh is awesome. He's very efficient and, when projects are a bit more complex than they seemed when I posted them, he was scrappy and figured it out.
I contacted Houman over internet. Had several jobs for him in my new condo. We reviewed what work needed to be done and he gave me an estimate. He worked quickly and extremely neat and carefully. He put in new electrical outlets Redesigned cabinetry and installed it. Broke through walls for electrical work patched and painted. I cannot even find where he did the work. Set up closet systems, shelving in three closets hung shelves, fixed leaking faucets and installed two large lights in the garage. Bought supplies that were needed and showed me better ways to accomplish what I wanted. He is a man of many talents and I will call him again when I have other projects. I highly recommend Houman
Roger put together a queen size Murphy bed from Costco for us at an extremely reasonable price. He was very professional, thorough, punctual, and talented! He is a perfectionist so made sure that everything was done correctly and looked great! He was more than willing to come back the very next day to help us with some other projects- building and hanging cabinets, assembling a toddler bed and hanging drapes and pictures. All A-plus work! I am looking forward to hiring him again to build a closet and mount TVs for us next!! I don't think there is anything Roger can't do, he's super skillfull! Would highly recommend him. :)
Jerome did a great job installing my elfa closets ! He really helped me out.
Don’t hesitate hiring Ali! He is amazing. He installed a closet system for me. His work was thorough, conscientious, and clean! Thank you Ali!
Connie was excellent and helped me clean out a room that became an office/guest room/collection of everything random stuffed in closets and drawers and it is now purged and organized into a functional office and guest room! She is coming back late in month to tackle another project!
Lisa helped me organize my closets and garage. She arrived promptly, worked efficiently, gave and accepted suggestions and was always pleasant. I would hire her again
About a smooth and perfect experience I could have hoped for. Brian is great to work with and I am very happy with the closet shelving installation he did at my home.
Excel Construction just redid our master bedroom, bathroom and kitchen! The new remodeling is so beautiful and we love it! They demolished completely the old master bathroom including the bedroom closet, relocated the toilet, created a larger and more functional closet and then rebuilt it with new heated floors, custom shelves, double vanity with storage tower and medicine cabinet, custom large mirror enclosure, marble countertop, new good size shower with several types of tile, exhaust fan and beautiful lights. At the kitchen part, they removed most of the old things and redid all of them brand new with new locations of some cabinets, lights, appliances and larger island. The quality of everything is very good while they kept making great suggestions during the remodeling work and they really were able to deliver more than what they promised they will do. We highly recommend Excel Construction!
I was pretty pleased with my experience with Lisa. She came in initially to help only with my home office, as I was preparing to increase my side business and was going to need to use it as an actual Office space, rather than storage. She in fact helped me with office, kitchen, closets and more. She came up with good re-purposing ideas for most of my existing pieces, and everything that I was holding onto that in fact didn't need to keep, was donated to the woman's shelter in DTLA (which she loaded up her own car with to drop off, and sent me the receipt for tax uses), Goodwill or donated to friends and co-workers (all good stuff, btu I just didn't need it all). She also was clever with how to organize items in groups and used my covered staircase (which I don't use) as a storage solution and put items like camping chairs up on the side walls to free up closet space in the main part of the house. She helped me declutter and rid myself of items that weren't practical anymore. We didn't do every single thing she suggested, as there's a need for compromise on some of the ideas, but I was overall very happy with how she helped me to better my home and items. She's got a tough attitude at times, but that's part of her job. She is there to help declutter your life... so take what she says as constructive, she's doing her job to help. Might be a bit tough to hear at the time, but she does a good job of lessening the CRAP most of us have. Haha! She is fun to talk with and comes up with plans for what you need and need to do once she's finished with the job and has goals set for what you can do on your own once she's gone, which helped me to keep on track and finish at the pace that I was comfortable with, like putting up added shelving in closets (which I needed help from my bf with), getting a more practical trash bin and more.
Tara came for four hours of organizing. She was able to help me empty, then re-organize my storage unit. Most helpful was her idea to arrange things, so we could access items she suggested we consider discarding (college textbooks etc). She prepared a list I could discuss with my husband, who has now agreed to clearing away several boxes! In my home, Tara helped organize a closet that houses bins of costumes, old cassettes and 45s, sewing supplies, paint, tools, and mother-in-law's plate collection. She was able to re-arrange things so similar items are adjacent to each other, and we eliminated one whole box. The closet is greatly uncluttered and considerably more functional. Let Tara help you improve your home!
American Castles Mike To the RESCUE!!! The water heater at my rental property burst on a Friday afternoon causing some major damage to the house. The renters were furious because their items got damaged and the house wasn't inhabitable after that. On the inside, the bathroom wall and under stairway closet were all soaking wet and drywall/carpet/padding had to be removed immediately to prevent mole build up. On the garage side where the water heater located, the entire wall was destroyed. so I called my home insurance who provided me with their preferred plumber who quoted an additional $540 out of pocket on top of what the insurance was going to cover just so he can bring up the water heater installation to code! He told me that it will take him 1+ week to order the water heater (duh...get one from Home Depot take only 1hr...which is what Mike did) and that he can install a temporary water heater and will charge $137/wk! He also referred me to a water damage restoration company which I was not too happy with either. Since it was an emergency and I went with that company. They came in and ripped out all the wet drywall without caring for any molding; especially for garage doors and closet doors! It seemed like what ever the water heater didn't damage, they did. They also broke my water heater intake shut off valve. damage the water heater over flow copper pipe. All I can say is I will not use them again! Back to the plumber, something was smelling fishy about his quote and so I called and questioned this plumber. His response was "Well, I will need to flush out the gas line and calibrate your water pressure...upgrade to the new California safety quote...put in earthquake straps...install new vent line since the new water heater nowaday don't use the old vent line!". I was not convinces so I started to Google for good local contractor and AMERICAN CASTLES (Mike Tay is the owner) came up from Thumtack along with few others from other websites. I contacted them and they came in and provided me quotes. Mike was the last one I contacted. He arrived within 30min. He checked out the damages and explained to me what needs to get done sequentially to get everything back in proper operation for my tenants. Mike is very knowledgeable and very patient in explaining things. I told him what the plumber had said, he laughed and told me the whole thing was a rip off and a scam! Another crock of bull**** and advised me against it. He told me to call my insurance company to inquire about using other plumber. Sure enough I was offered the "cash out" option which I didn't even know was available. I took that option and went with Mike for the repair. Mike knows how important it is for my tenants to get the hot water running again once the water damage restoration company completed the clean up/dry out the area (took 1 week). As soon as that company removed their equipment, Mike had his crew come in the next day (Saturday) to repair the garage dry wall and finished the installation of the new water heater and brought it up to code on safety on Sunday! He even added the water pan and installed drain pipe for me. I didn't even know such a thing exists (talk about quality...he treats it like repairing his own home!). The best part is his charge for the whole job including new water heater, earthquake straps, valve, drain pan, vent and new connection is far way less than what that plumber was going to charge me. I loved the fact he took the time to show me how things should be done up to code and what works for my situation instead of just giving a price and walking away. He did an awesome job! Unfortunately my landlord insurance's deductible was so high, I asked Mike to give me a quote for fixing the damage in the garage and inside the house. Mike's quote was very competitive and the best part is he is always willing to work with me knowing my situation (thx Mike). My bathroom paint is 16 years old so it was a challenge to match the paint for the new wall. After only quoting me for painting a small wall inside the bathroom, Mike decided on his own to paint the entire bathroom without charging for it. Now that what I call TAKING PRIDE IN YOUR WORK AND STICKING TO YOUR WORD!!! My summary is, Mike successfully completed the entire job and installation in four days. I would highly recommend Mike to anyone and will definitely be using and referring him to everyone I know.
Wow George gave me a great quote for shaving 7 closet doors and putting them on track and to replace a toilet. The day scheduled to do the work, he managed to fix my refrigerator lines and repair a drawer as well as the closet doors and replacinh the toilet. He had to go look for some parts at a couple of stores and got the job done. We're very happy with his service. We will definitely call him again.
Rigo saved the day! He had the tools for the job, the know-how to get it done once and get it done right! He worked within my schedule and provided fast efficient service! I definitely adding him to my contacts for all future needs.
They created a hallway and extra bedroom with closet for our family. Job well done at a good price. Very friendly and reasonable.

I moved into a smaller space so everything was cluttered and looked messy. Beate came in acessed the space and I was amazed they managed to fit it all more efficiently and looks beautiful! Now I can find everything easily! Thank you Now Organizing for organizing me!
Tiff is amazing! Tiff and I only hit my closet and kitchen, but it was already life-changing. My home was rid of multiple bags of stuff I didn’t need, didn’t want, or didn’t even know was there. That made my space visibly cleaner, much more manageable, and even more usable. The whole experience cleared a lot of my mind clutter too. Use all of Tiff’s tips and advice. She knows what she’s doing. I’ll be calling her over again soon!
