Kelly is an amazing teacher. 100% on time and sometimes even goes over time just to make sure that I had fun and know what to practice on my own. He's patient, engaging and really friendly. I am 31 yr old and I do not feel embarrassed at all hitting all the wrong keys in front of Kelly. Best piano teacher there is out there! I would recommend him to my family and friends.

Kelly has shared his piano playing talent at the San Francisco Senior Center's monthly birthday party for the past several months. He has won the hearts of our Seniors with his knowledge of so many tunes from past to present. Kelly has a winning combination of patience, wit and charm and he would be a great addition to any event!

Three words: Best tutor ever! He is an amazing tutor, and his lessons are worth every penny. He is very patient and understands your personal learning pace. His study tips and tricks are great, and I use them frequently to this day. I went to Mr. Foster over the summer to prepare for the ACT, and my experience with him couldn't have been better. Not only did he give me knowledge and study tips, but he also gave me confidence that I can conquer that monstrous test. With his help, I raised my ACT test score from a 20 to a 26. I loved working with Mr. Foster, and he is the first person I will call if I need help with any school subjects. I would recommend Mr. Foster to anyone! He will help you in more ways than one.

9 years ago I stopped taking piano lessons. Recently I decided to start up again. It was a bit intimadating. I was lucky enough to find Dave. He is very professional and yet casual. He communicates theory in a clear, understanable way. He is encouraging and patient. I know that, in time, I'll play with confidence that I never had before. Check him out on UTube at 88davefoster. He truly deserves a 5 star rating!

Our son has been going to Gaving and Grayson at UpRock for over a year now and loves it plus is making great progress. This is all due to the great instruction and how the staff relate to younger students and they make it both fun and interesting personalizing the songs to the kids tastes and generally demonstrating a passion for their role as instructors. I am very impressed and would have no hesitation in recommending UpRock for your guitar lessons.

Guitar lessons in Roseville California. My instructor was ready, on time, prepared, and clearly knew what he was talking about. Their prices are reasonable, and their studio is clean and well maintained. I think they are a good place to learn guitar.

We have had 3 piano teachers for our grandson. The first two were well qualified, and taught our grandson how to play different pieces of music, however, Mrs. Martinez is the only piano teacher that took the time to step back and have our grandson review how to read music, i.e. names of music notes. That ensured he had the basic music foundation before proceeding forward. This has resulted in amazing growth in his learning abilities to play the piano. Because of Mrs. Martinez dedication to teach at a pace based on her students ability to learn, we highly recommend her for all ages, as well as all levels of piano from the beginner, intermediate, to the more advanced students.

Mrs Martinez has been a huge help for me. I've been wanting to learn the piano for the longest time and I could not have chosen a better teacher. She's very caring, kind, well informed, patient, and encouraging. When I'd get frustrated in having trouble going through a certain piece, she would slow it down and take it step by step, all while being very patient. Doing so helped me tremendously and continue using the advice she's given me. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to take piano. My lessons with her were truly the highlight of my week. :)

Iam a professional Guitarist and have been taking lessons from Bob for a bout 2 months now. I inicially contacted Bob becaused I had reached an impasse with my playing. Within the first couple of lessons I learned to negociate the fret board with more ease and confidence. Bob has a solid foundation in theory as well as teaching the student the pratical application of the theory. I was able to apply the learning material to my playing almost immediately after my lesson. Bob is very patient and takes the time to explain the material so it is well understood before the lessons are over. I highly reccommend Bob to anyone who wants to take their playing to the next level.

Larry K.

It has always been a musical learning experience beyond the notes on the page for me working with Bob. His knowledge of the history of both the instrument and the music, enriches the learning experience. Bob gives more than just quality music lessons. He shares his in depth knowledge and experience earned over a lifetime of playing and teaching in every lesson.

David C.

As a mature student and absolute beginner to piano I took my first lessons with some trepidation. I have found Bob to be very enthusiastic, supportive and helpful; and very good at explaining underlying musical theory concepts, not just the mechanics of playing piano.

"I had guitar lessons with the Guitar Institute of Learning for a little over 3 years, and those years were the first 3 years I had in my experience of ever playing the guitar. I learned so much from my teacher. He taught me Jazz Standards, folk songs, and even things that were accommodated to my own interests as well! More importantly, I gained a life changing perspective from the songs, chords, melodies and harmonies that my teacher taught me. The concepts never get old. Guitar Institute of Learning does not just teach you how to play guitar, but how to practice it and how to become a great musician. It can be one thing to play an instrument, but to know how to play with other musicians requires a development of playing with others and applying your knowledge. Which is what guitar institute of learning can help you do. Everything I learned from GIOL literally changed my view and appreciation for music once I became more aware of the music world. I learned things that, once I looked back and realized what I was learning, I was so surprised and grateful that I was shown such great songs. I will always have a gratitude for the class and vast repertoire that they had opened me up to. As a musician, now playing guitar for 8 years, I would not be where I am today without those lessons. Knowing how important practicing everyday is, and finding how you define music will help you find an appreciation and motivation from and beyond these lessons." -Lawrence S. Abbott

I have been an adult student of Gloria Leiter at F.A.M.E. for the past 14 years. I have also observed many of her classes with children of all ages so my exposure to the quality of her work is extensive. I am a former educator who has helped train student teachers. Gloria Leiter is the most gifted teacher I have ever seen and it has been a privilege to be in her classes. Her training and credentials in music education are impressive. She understands the educational process and goes beyond the basics. The learning environment in her classroom is warm and positive. She is able to teach a group and yet be personally involved with each student. She is thorough in her presentation of material, making sure that each concept is fully understood by all students. Her ability to pair learning with joy, fun, and excitement provides an atmosphere that children and adults embrace. They are successful starting with the very first lesson and they move forward at a good pace. In order to handle the volume of business, Gloria hires very qualified piano teachers as staff members. She trains them to meet her high standards so there is consistency in the program. Each teacher working for Gloria is passionate about doing the best possible job for the students. In addition to being an outstanding teacher and hiring excellent staff, Gloria uses the best materials available. Her mastery of the Yamaha method is unparalleled and, combined with her talent, makes for an exceptional program. Yamaha has developed a number of courses that meet the needs of different age groups and is conscientious about ongoing review of the curriculum. Yamaha has a great understanding of the potential of children. People are often amazed at how well very young children can play the piano, and how quickly they learn, when they are trained using the Yamaha courses. Those who have not experienced group learning on the piano are in for a treat. The synergy that takes place when students are learning together is compelling and makes group lessons far superior to private lessons. This program is not the program many parents experienced when they were growing up. This is dynamic, enjoyable, and comprehensive. Parents are encouraged to sit in on lessons in order to see first-hand what is being taught and also to better help their children through the week. Cost effectiveness is always a consideration when one is making a decision about spending. I can guarantee you that investing in music education at F.A.M.E. is well worth the very reasonable cost. Group lessons are not as expensive as private and the overall quality is such that parents more than get their money's worth when they enroll their children at F.A.M.E. F.A.M.E. has been in Contra Costa County for the past 16 years and has served the community well. The school is a great asset to families who want to secure the best music education available for their children. F.A.M.E. is that place! I know--- I am still a student who is learning every day. And it is still loads of fun under the exceptional direction of Gloria Leiter! Shirley

Both of my children go to Fame Yamaha Music Center. It is really a school of music and I can't say enough how happy we are. My 5 year old just started and he is so excited to go to class. My 8 years old son started when he was 5 and he is still enjoying learning to play piano at the school. Ms. Gloria has a gift to teach children and a natural gift to teach piano and music . She has so much experience and she is also very kind and caring to the child and parent. The Yamaha course is wonderful because it has beautiful and fun music for the children and develops as they grow in age and in their skills of learning and playing. They learn, not only playing the piano but also rhythm, sing notes, and skills on how to sing. Ms. Gloria is an amazing teacher and we are so lucky to have found a music school that is professional and child friendly, supporting the children to blossom and to develop a love for music. The Center also has guitar classes and art ( painting too) Claudia F.

I absolutely LOVE working with Michael and learning guitar from him. I've tried many times to learn before, and it's never quite stuck. Michael has a way of making difficult concepts seem easy and I'm finally able to grasp music theory. It's always challenging learning something new because I (as I'm sure a lot of people do) feel silly when I mess up or a little dumb if I don't do something right, and Michael makes me feel comfortable and able to make mistakes and try new chords or scales, or whatever it may be. I HIGHLY recommend hiring Michael if you want to learn guitar or just improve your skills!

Chris Lee and the East Bay music academy have been an enormous influence on my playing and my life. Chris is a highly organized, professional teacher as well as a phenomenal player and even more astounding composer/theoretician. His approach to music theory, while staggeringly comprehensive, is completely accessible, and I found that his conception of theory is in many instances more concise, elegant, logical, and practical than that presented in college theory courses. Moreover, the open-minded, experimental attitude which he brings to every aspect of his instruction, from theory to technique, has taught me how to grow continually as a musician long after I stopped taking lessons, and to be effective as my own teacher. Chris Lee transformed me from a clueless teenager into a professional musician, and I have no doubt that he can do the same for any earnest student.

Professional and extremely knowledgeable are the first things that come to mind when I think of Chris, this guy is definitely not some guitar dude burnout teaching people to jam out. Written and well thought out lesson plans, he was able to explain music theory that was a complete foreign language to me and make sense out of it. Great knowledge of scales and really catered the lessons to what I wanted to play, overall a great teacher I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a guitar teacher. By the way this guy plays the guitar like you would not believe as well!!!!!!

Patience of a saint. Invested, caring, compassionate and multi-talented (you should hear her singing voice)! I had two daughters taking piano lessons at the same time. I told Trudy my 1-year goals for the girls up front, and Trudy led my girls to far beyond my expectations in less than six months! In no time, my girls were reading music and composing their own songs on paper! She was particularly good about ensuring the two "tween-age" girls each had specials songs that were just their own and not a song the other sister was also learning at the same time. She exposed the children to music theory from the beginning (something I never learned in all my years of lessons). The girls adored Trudy and loved their lessons with her. It broke our hearts when she moved away. To this day, nothing makes me happier than seeing my girls run to the piano when they hear a song on the radio and immediately sounding out the melody and playing it over and over. They can read music; they appreciate the beauty of classical pieces; and they treasure their time with Trudy and her lovely family.

Trudy was a fantastic private voice instructor! I took voice lessons from her for about a year after a while of searching for one that I really liked. I am a freshman in a Conservatory of Theatre and Dance and I am really big into Music Theatre. Trudy definitely helped me find my own voice and I feel that I made huge leaps and bounds in my singing capabilities. She really helped prepare me for my Conservatory life, and I was really sad when she moved away and I could no longer take lessons from her. The best voice coach I have ever had!

Trudy is one of the best tutors one could wish for. Her lesson plans makes it easy and structured for you to read and play music even without prior knowledge. I’ve enjoyed every lesson with her; the weekly assignments and always look forward to a progressive challenge each lesson. The price is also a fair deal considering the quality of the lesson and duration you are getting. I will always choose and recommend Trudy to anyone, anytime any day!
