Dining at Graceful Kitchen, Grace Zhou’s pop-up restaurant, was a unique and delightful experience. Grace planned a series of original and authentic courses, taking into account vegetarian preferences, which were cooked and served with style. The setting was immaculately prepared, courses arrived within a reasonable time, and guests were entertained with music and conversation. Regulars are only sorry that she moved to another country!

My partner and I just had our first cooking/nutrition lesson with Daniella and we LOVE her!!! Learned how to grocery shop cheap, healthy, tasty and organic. Then had tons of yummy receipes for the week from marinating meat, making homemade dips/sauces to healthy/tasty snacks. She is so kind, easygoing, fun and knows her cooking stuff! :) We are signed up for more weekly cooking lessons and so happy we got connected with Daniella. Thank you!

We hired Chef Graham last-minute to help with a fun event for a 19th birthday, where the birthday girl wanted her friends and family to participate in the cooking process. I just made the booking and wasn't personally in attendance for the event, but I heard from all who where that Chef Graham was incredibly skilled and charming and an all-around great find. Highly recommended and thanks again!

Albert, from the start, was warm and professional. This man knows his way around the kitchen! He and his lovely wife, Antonia, whipped up the most amazing vegetarian dinner for a family party (12 adults, 6 kids). Even the meat-lovers were shocked to learn that vegetarian meals were delectable. :) He was on time, clean/quick, and presented some gorgeous dishes. I'm hiring him for all future parties; he left my kitchen spotless. :) He is warm, personable, and the list goes on. Thank you, Albert and Antonia, for an awesome night.

Zach was excellent! We had a total of 6 private cooking lessons over the course of 4 months. Each time he came to our house for a couple hours as we created a wide variety of my favorite dishes from local restaurants in Sonoma. He taught us ways to modify a meal so you could have more variety with the same dish by just changing a few spices or ingredients, what to look for to know you're on the right track or how to "save a dish" if you veer off, and different techniques that were really useful. I'd highly recommend him!

So glad we found Dan's company on this website. From the first point of contact he was completely on top of everything. At first we wanted to have a cooking class, but after talking with him about the other types of experiences he could offer, we went with a demonstration/dinner party which was so much better than an actual class. We went with the Cotogna inspired menu and got to learn just as much, while spending time with our friends drinking wine. Perfect night!

We had a fantastic experience hiring John, and I would unreservedly recommend him. I was hosting an 8-person dinner party with a group of international friends at a rental property in Sonoma in mid November. He was very responsive to my fairly vague request on Thumbtack, instantly proposing a delicious-sounding 4 course meal with appetizers that took account of my preference for mostly vegan dishes. He was flexible and easy to work with at a very reasonable price point. He arrived on time with his wife to help, and they cooked, served and cleaned very professionally with a great friendly attitude. I would certainly hire him again.

We had Anja come over and do a cooking class for our company employees and significant others. She helped craft an amazing menu, wine pairings and tasty treats. Everything went off without a hitch and people couldn't stop raving about how much they enjoyed her instruction. While the food was great, it was her personality and pleasant spirit that really made this an awesome experience. Couldn't recommend her more highly.

I have now taken two Indian cooking classes from Meenu Bhasin. In the first cooking class she made chicken korma, lentils and a yogurt side dish. These dishes were about a medium level of difficulty to prepare. Meenu was very thorough in explaining and showing each step of the cooking process. She also included a list of all the ingredients and spices, and where to purchase them. In the second class we made chicken tikka masala, saag paneer and rice with vegetables. Meenu is very good at teaching the preparation and cooking process of each dish. She goes over the ingredients and the entire process very carefully. She also leaves plenty of time for questions and discussion. I really enjoyed taking her classes and learned a lot about Indian cooking. I strongly recommend her as a cooking teacher/chef.

Karla is very friendly, helpful and super easy to work with. She catered a birthday dinner for a dozen people and made excellent Brazilian dishes, including vegan options. We especially liked the cheese bread! Service was excellent and attentive and she cleaned up thoroughly at the end. Would highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our french cooking lesson with Mashav! She created a custom menu for the class based on our suggestions and fresh local ingredients. She walked us through each step carefully and answered all of our questions. The final result -- 4 made-from-scratch french dishes -- was phenomenal. To top it all off, Mashav was very organized and easy to plan the class with.

    I contacted Veena to see if I could arrange a private cooking class for my Mom as a Mother's day gift. I asked whether she could accommodate me (a vegetarian) and my mom (passionate meat eater) and Veena said absolutely. I sent Veena a handful of my Mom's favorite recipes (including a more obscure and apparently heavily British dish called Lamb Pasanda) and she created a meal plan that included everything and more. We showed up and Veena greeted us warmly. Her kind energy and passion for her food and culture were clear. She never made us feel like we were asking silly questions and kept the experience light and fun. She was basically willing to go into as much detail or as little detail as we wanted. It was a very affordable class considering it was a 3 hour long private sessions for the two of us. We even went home with tons of leftovers, a spice kit (black cardamom smells amazing), and recipes for our dishes! Veena took pictures of our experience and offered her help for any future cooking questions we had. She said she could always offer a suggestion for a substitution (ex. if we needed a dairy free version) or questions on grocery stores to find certain ingredients. Thank you Veena!!! Quick summary PROS: very adaptable, super warm and kind energy, affordable, fun, not intimidating, yummy food. CONS: scheduling was a little difficult because there was no calendar or online service to use. It was through email so we did have some communication mishaps initially—no big deal really.

      I took a cooking class with ​Inbal​ ​and a​ small group of friends and was very satisfied by the experience. ​Inbal ​is extremely knowledgable and was very gracious and answered all of our silly questions. There was so much very basic info we didn't know! The biggest benefit for me was learning how to keep cooking simple. I tend to over think things and end up getting overwhelmed. Cooking isn't as scary anymore. I would definitely recommend her classes.

      Anita is knowledgeable and explains clearly any cooking steps. Its a pleasure to cook as she teaches and one gains a secure understanding of the recipe since she allows for the student their own thinking space and doesn't "hold your hand" too much.

      I did a 3-hour cooking class with Alejandra. She is fantastic! She is an excellent teacher, both with respect to general culinary techniques and to details of specific recipes. Her food is fresh, tasty, and quite simple to prepare. She establishes a friendly, easy-going atmosphere in the class, and has a great sense of humor. She is superbly trained in classical French cuisine but also has experience in Thai and Ecuadorian foods. Yes, she went above and beyond what I expected. What could have been improved? Well, nothing!       I had friends visiting from out of town and wanted to host a dinner party at my home for them. All my guests were picky eaters in one way or another, so I hired Chef John to prepare a customized meal to suit the tastes of all my guests. Chef John worked with me to come up with a full menu of appetizers, a salad, main dishes and desserts. Everything was amazing and each guest was thrilled to have their own custom made meal. The dessert was tiramisu which, I have to say, was the best I have ever had (and I have had LOTS of tiramisu in my life). Chef John cooked in my kitchen, cleaned up everything and left my kitchen spotless. Chef John is definitely my "go to" private chef from now on!
