Diogo is an amazing musician with an outstanding amount of experience in a variety of styles. His approach to teaching is organized, individualized to my needs and experiential. With Diogo, I study Brazilian bossa nova and my understanding of theory, technique and style and improved greatly since starting with Diogo. Sometimes I record his playing to take home, he may write out chords/rhythms for me, and helps me to find printed music that is well presented, not just an internet copy/paste :). I have studied music for many years and am so grateful to have found Diogo to push me to the next level. His knowledge base is HUGE! Beginner to advanced, Diogo is a fantastic teacher.

I've been studying ukulele with Diogo for years at Alan's Music in La Mesa. Whatever style I bring to him - classical, jazz, pop, Hawaiian - he shows he's a master. But best of all is his patience and the joy of music he brings his students. A terrific teacher!
