I ordered a Swan single basin sink from Pykles - customer service was excellent - you don't feel like a customer, but a friend - haven't received sink yet but will be sure to keep Pykles in mind for other things.

I've met Craig Pykle personally over several years. He and is company exemplify integrity. From a septic line problem in rual San Diego to a heater/furnace replacement in La Jolla, the Pykle team have been professional and always priced right.

I'll start with the good. The guys who arrived to do the work--3 cabinet/counter installs, 3 lighting installs, 3 toilets, 2 new floors, 3 paint colors--were all good men, with the primary contractor being exceptional (Javi, I believe). Communication was an issue at times, but we worked around it as best we could. Work ethic was strong, they were respectful and careful, even when I requested touch up after touch up. And, when I decided last minute to have the showers painted, they called a friend and worked around him. The items selected all came from the Pykles showroom, and with my budget constraints, I didn't have much choice, but what we got is still very nice. We went a tiny bit over budget once I realized brushed nickel fixtures weren't included, but they found them for me to save me having to buy them myself and made sure I got all the counters I wanted. Quality of workmanship and products is high. And my baths look amazing! Now, the bad. I'm not sure how it happened, but somehow the cabinets that arrived for my 3 baths were not the right ones, so we were off to a bad start on the first day. We had one that was the right size, but the drawers were on the wrong side for the plumbing, so we had to make adjustments. They told me they would be installed on Tuesday, then Wednesday, but they didn't actually install the other two until Friday and the last one on Saturday (I at least had one toilet and one shower the whole time tho--whew!). That whole ordeal set us back almost two days, so what was originally going to be a 4-day install took 5.5 :( The last day, Saturday, was a scramble to get them done quickly enough to make it to another job, and there was a miscommunication with the crew chief, but we worked it out, apologies all around. The chief came back later in the day to take care of a few quick things, and he'll be back later to handle the absolute last thing--a soap dish that couldn't be mounted without damaging the new shower paint. I appreciated the extra concern. I've never had a contractor show up when they say in the morning, leave when they say in the evening, or finish as planned, and these guys struggled with that a bit too. I give 4-4.5 stars because of the miscommunications and minor delays in what was otherwise a good remodel.
