I am almost a chess master and I was in the top 25 in the U.S. at the age of 15. I really enjoy teaching chess and am very patient with my students. I try to make it fun for young kids too.
I truly believe in the importance of chess in life; it helped me excel in my math classes, improve my concentration, logic, creativity, memory and increased my problem solving skills.
George is fantastic. He's patient and really knows about tactic and strategy and my game has improved with every session we have.
Socrates is an amazing chess coach. He taught my son to play and now he competes in tournaments all over the country. Socrates is a patient, motivating and fun teacher. He even inspired me to learn how to play and now I run a chess club and write a chess newsletter. Socrates' passion is infectious. He is resourceful and motivating and always provides additional training and inspirational materials. He always tells great stories about chess grandmasters. His love for the game and for teaching chess is undeniable. I highly recommend Socrates as a chess coach.
For the last 26 years, I have been teaching youth chess in the school district throughout Pennsylvania, and now that I live in Western California, I see a greater opportunity in teaching young people in the school districts as well as in private homes. With the Million Youth Chess Club, I helped organize that nonprofit corporation and built it. Studies show that teaching chess to young people really changes thinking patterns. Young people are taught the basics about what you're studying in school. That's true, but where does the thinking and the ability of making the right decisions come in? That's where chess plays a very important part. I really hope there's someone out there that understands my dream of helping kids make the right decisions, now that kids are making decisions. Spend 25 years of life in prison; that's all in the eyes of the next generation that could possibly be before them. Let's stop this, and help each other help our next generation. Thank you for listening.
