- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My base rate is $35 an hour. I suggest a 80 minute session, which is $45 and I recommend at least one session a week. I prefer to have clients travel to me. If I need to drive up to 7 miles outside of Long Beach, I will charge an additional $15. If I drive 8-20 miles, the additional charge will be $35. Avoiding traffic is a top priority for me and I prefer when clients come to me. We can practice indoor or outdoor at my residence or meet at Discovery Park in Signal Hill. I discount longer sessions when customers purchase ten sessions in advance for $350. Please notify for cancellations 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, I will charge the regular rate for a full session.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will begin with a brief interview regarding any physical limitations and the client's goals. 1. Presenting a mindfulness focus for the day. 2. Warming up with swings 3. Mindful breathing 4. The Energy Workout - A head to toe opener 5. Form practice In the 80 minute session there will also be mindful standing meditations. A 60-minute session requires a somewhat narrowed focus. - What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In the seven years since my initial certification, I have completed 350 hours of professional development in these intensives with my Xifu, Jim-Scott Beherends. Since 2016 I have completed courses in Mindful Self Compassion and Mindfulness Based Stress Relief (MBSR) through Insight LA. I practice tai chi regularly, teach it in a variety of settings and do sitting meditation daily.
