Let me start off by saying that Raquel exceeded all expectations by far and we feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to work with her. We recently adopted a pocket pit bull terrier from the shelter and named her Reina. We have had pretty good success on our own with house training, kennel training, and obedience within our home. The issue is whenever we took Reina outside, we realized we cannot walk past other dogs in the neighborhood. Before Raquel, we hired a trainer and also someone else to 'socialize' her and both failed terribly. After tons of online research, we realized that she has 'fear aggression'. We needed help from a mental standpoint. We desperately needed a 'behavioral specialist'. We needed someone to assess her psychologically so that we know what's going on in her head and more importantly, for us as dog owners to also be trained on how to manage the situation moving forward. That is where Raquel's expertise comes in. Right from the start, you know she is the real deal. Even though we have been trying our best with different techniques, nothing compared to hiring an actual dog whisperer. Raquel will be able to analyze you and your dog, and know exactly where to fill in the cracks of the foundation you have already set. She will teach you how to communicate with your dog with the correct energy you will need in order to set you up for success. Raquel is very patient and super easy to get along with. She will waste no time in your session and tackle the very issue you are having with your dog. On top of all this, Raquel will always be available for help once she knows your case. This alone is priceless and the investment is by far worth it and more. Very knowledgeable and her experience alone should set her apart from so many. We are extremely happy to say that Raquel gave us the confidence and the right tools to finally move in the right direction with rehabilitating Reina's aggression. No more clouding our minds with the internet confusing ourselves and our dog. We would and will, highly recommend Raquel to anyone else who needs special help with their fur baby!!!! :-)
Karen is a dog whisperer! We got a new 8 week year old puppy that's now 4 months old and he was absolutely out of control. He had so much energy and was too smart for his own good. Karen helped us take control as the pack leaders and taught us how to be the Alpha Dog with him. She is more than a dog/puppy trainer, she is a people trainer too. She is extremely knowledgeable and helped us so much. Our pup now listens to us and is so much better on his leash, greeting guests, and finally potty trained! I highly recommend her to anyone in need of training for their sweet pup! :)
John is an amazing trainer. I would highly recommend him to anyone that is looking for some obedience training for their pups. He is punctual, professional, and passionate about what he does.
Denise has done wonders with Piesko. Denise is calm focused and I think subtly is training me to be a better owner of my dog. Apparently my dog knows how and what to do and Denise shows me how to to get it out of my girl. Denise seems like a natural with dogs and their owners
He is very good at explaining and teaching how to teach the dog. My dogs learned very quickly. Probably best when they are large dogs.
I first met Duane Overturf over 15 years ago, when he came to my home to train my dog Jumbuck. He assessed the dog immediately before deciding on the training. Training in the dog park followed the training at home. Apart from my dog having a wonderful character, he turned out to be one of my best dogs regarding obedience and reliability. About two years later he also came to our home to train Jumbuck's companion, a totally different type of dog, who also understood very quickly what was required of him. Duane has a knack for getting dogs to feel relaxed and make training enjoyable. He is very reliable, thorough, and i enjoyed working with him.
After reading the numerous positive reviews on Cassidy and her training techniques I felt confident. From the very beginning Cassidy was friendly, helpful, and attentive. She consistently took a personal interest in my dog, Simba. Simba's needs were extensive as he needed socialization as well as obedience. Simba is a one year old 80 pound pit bull mastif mix with tons of energy and strength. After several email exchanges we decided to speak in more detail on the phone. Cassidy listened carefully to all of my concerns and background stories about my dog. Without judgement she gave me perspectives that might be contributing to some of my dog's behaviors. I appreciated not being "scolded" for making the situation worse, and instead she comforted me by saying things like I can see why you would have thought that. This allowed me freedom to share openly about making the mistakes I may have created by being over protective and even possibly over-bearing. On our first meeting Cassidy arrived ready to take on any situation she was faced with. I explained to her that my dog had not met many new people. She calmly walked me through the steps on how to have a new person enter the house. I followed her steps and was amazed at how fast my dog was able to connect with her. Her calm demeanor throughout the entire session kept us at ease as she was able to show us a variety of techniques for each of the training components. I couldn't believe how relaxed my dog was as he laid down at her feet and stared at her as she spoke with him. I knew when she left she had already made a substantial difference. My dog was asleep shortly after her departure and remained in a deep sleep the entire night. Today I already see improvements. A few days later Simba was able to attend Camp Cassidy. I was a nervous at first just knowing he was out of my care. However Cassidy continued to send updates via text, phone, photos, and even videos. She was thorough and always made time to talk me through any of my concerns. Cassidy continues to be in touch and she offers continued support for our dog. I am grateful to have met someone with such a great heart and a true passion for what she does. Since leaving camp cassidy my dog has been neutered, and he will be ready for additional training. I look forward to working with Cassidy in the future. I woud highly recommend Cassidy to anyone who needs special assistance with their dog.

Stefanie is always on time, explains everything and give you simple and easy to follow trick to get rid of bad habits with your dog!
Steve and his team are abosultely fabulous, so very friendly and down to earth!!! We left our 4 year Old English Bulldog, Boris, with him for a 14-21 day boot camp to help with aggression and obedience. While Boris was learning at boot camp, Steve had my husband and I learning as well though one of his beginner training DVD. After practicing with the DVD and several calls with Steve (he was always available for questions whenever they came up), our whole perspective on pet ownership and responsibility shifted for the betterment of our entire family! Every family member has a role and a job, Boris included!!! Boris was ready to come home at 14 days because he responded so well to the training. When we arrived to get him, my husband and I did a nice hour long training session with Steve and two of his wonderful trainers. We feel very confident with the skills and tools SW K9 has given us to continue Boris' success! It's also extremely nice that they call and check up on him/us even after the job is finished. Our relationship with Steve and his trainers will definitely continue beyond this one job!
Pawsability was above and beyond anything I could have imagined! I have a new rescue dog and I wanted to make sure she stayed in our home when we went away. We also wanted to start her off on some basic training so we hired Pawsability to come and take care of Sky. We had a meet and greet at my house and Theresa spent a good hour explaining her services and even giving us tips to help us w our new rescue. During the stay they took sky on the daily trips they do as part of the community daycare program and Sky got to be socialized and have "on the job" training with other dogs and new people. We were sent texts, videos and photos frequently with wonderful updates about sky's progress. My house was left beautifully and Theresa even washed the sheets and towels she used. She left a report and set up our final training session that was included in our board and train fee. Oh and the fee was extremely reasonable. When we returned home Our dog was happy, healthy and had learned the beginnings of obedience training. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend this service. We will definitely enroll Sky in their daycare as well.
Forever Friends Golden Retriever Rescue has been privileged to have Kim (The Trained Canine) as our Behavior Specialist and Trainer for the past 7 years. She not only trains our dogs but works with the foster parents and new owners. Kim has worked with dogs with simple issues that only need general obedience training and she has worked with dogs with extremely serious problems such as aggression. Our volunteers and adopters call Kim, "The Miracle Worker". Dog after dog that would have been considered "unadoptable" have been able to find their forever homes thanks to Kim's training. As President of the rescue, I sincerely thank Kim and highly recommend her services to anyone that needs a dog trainer.
Love Ur K9 is the best decision I ever made for my Mini Australian Shepherd, Camo. I cannot say enough how good they have been to me, and my dog. I am forever grateful for everything they have done for us. Here's the full story: I heard about Kevin through a friend who had a great experience after her dog was trained by Kevin. I was looking for a dog trainer who could not only help with obedience training my three month old puppy, but also work on some dominance behavior issues. I had read so many books on raising a puppy, and also grew up in a family with many dogs so I thought I knew what I was doing. Our first meeting with Kevin was in our home, where he met Camo, and got a better understanding of our home setup and routines. It is also where Camo was comfortable and displaying some early signs of dominant behavior. Kevin immediately picked up on this and made some changes to the way in which we interact with Camo. We started puppy behavior and obedience training that same week. Kevin also trained us as handlers, so that we understood the training and could repeat it at home, that way Camo would not be able to default back to bad behaviour. When Camo was 9 months old, we heard that we had to move to Australia for my husband's work. There was no way that I could make the move without Camo. Australia is extremely strict with importing pets, and theres a six month intensive preparation of vet checks, and massive costs involved before dogs are allowed to enter the country. We had to leave two months after we heard the news so we had to make a plan for Camo in the meant time. Kevin took Camo into his home for four months, looking after him, doing service dog training with him, and helping with many arrangements to get Camo reunited with us. Camo joined us in Australia in June and I am elated to have my best friend back by my side once again. He is still full of personality, but by far the most obedient, trained and socialised dog in Melbourne!!! THANK YOU Love Ur K9, from the bottom of our hearts!!!
Petra is great and very patient with our dog Tobi that doesn’t get along with our cat but already after 3 lessons is improving and also learning obedience commands!
So I live in Alabama and have a friend in Tn. that had bought a dog from Vince. The dog was one of the best working dogs I have seen. The dog was the perfect balance of work and home. I reached out to Vince with some questions about a dog I had just bought. Being that I don't have the time to take off of work and fly out to California with my dog and train with him, Vince never once hesitated to answer my questions. I kept him up to date on my training and I hit a wall, I had a few problems I couldn't seem to work out. Vince offered very precise training advise and even went so far as to ask me for a few videos and then sent me some videos of the training I could use to show me exactly what I could do to accomplish my goals. Nobody else would have done that, nobody else would have cared. Vince truly cares about dogs and wants to make sure that you and your dog have the best relationship and quality of life possible. I am actively trying to find a way to get me and my dog to him so I can train with him and thank him in person for all that he has done for me. It's never hard to discern when someone is doing it because they love what they do or if they are doing it because they love them money it brings. I can assure you Vince is in it because he loves dogs and he loves what he does. Truly one of the best people I have met in the dog training industry. Thanks again Vince for everything you have done for a know nothing beginner like me.
He knows animals. Dave has a way with my dog. My puppy likes him and listens to the commands.
So far, the experience has been satisfactory. We have only attended one of 8 sessions at this time. Ron is very professional and eager to share his knowledge of canine obedience training.
Daryl is wonderful! He is super responsive and available. Answered all my questions promptly and sent me videos of my dog during the time he was being boarded and trained. Daryl is extremely professional and considers us part of his family. The dogs he works with are unbelievably well trained. It seems like he does a lot of personal protection dog training, although we took my Corgi puppy to him for obedience training. My puppy is very “willful” and needed an extra week of training and Daryl was incredibly accommodating for us. I couldn’t believe he would be willing to go the extra mile to make sure we and our dog are satisfied. Thanks Daryl!
I met DANIELE LARGO outside my bank about a year and a half ago. She had such a beautiful, uplifting energy about her. I thought she was so beautiful and happy, and I just wanted to get to know her. She has such an inviting demeanor; we just started talking. Somehow we ended up talking about dogs. She is a remarkable person and dog whisperer extraordinaire. We have three cute little white rescue dogs and have been putting up with a lot of mischief from them. We'd call one and he/she would turn and walk the other way; plus, two different dogs each thought they were the alpha! We had toileting problems, too much unwanted barking, they were impossible to walk, you get the picture. We love them so much - Jack, J.J. and Kate. We're planning to move sometime soon, and for so long I'd been thinking about what to do about our doggie situation. I knew I needed to do something - SOON. Sweet Daniele had been keeping in touch with me during the gap since meeting, but momentarily I had forgotten about Danielle's special talent. Surprise, she called me the next day! Since we started working with Daniele things have really changed around here. We see the changes as each day goes by. Joe and I have worked with the dogs in all the ways she has taught us and it has really paid off. Yes, people need to get engaged in the learning process along with their pets. We have learned so much about understanding dog behavior, an essential part of having a great relationship with your precious baby. Danielle is so in-tune with our dogs and the ways we all relate together, that she understands what's going on with all of us. They each have different issues and they all love Daniele. They are anxious to please her, and now they focus with us much better also. Each one has really stepped up and they are falling into line as a cohesive family unit. We already have less barking, less toileting problems, less jealousy, and more obedience. Our home is happier and calmer thanks to this special lady. We highly recommend her for anyone having problems with their animals, or, if they just want to have a better trained dog, or other issues. Daniele has also helped our doggies, and Joe and I to better health with the Protandim she carries. What a difference! She has so many great ideas that have helped us accomplish our goals, for our doggies and ourselves. We couldn't be happier that we engaged Daniele to help us. Call Daniele, she's worth more than you can imagine...you won't be sorry! With Gratitude, Carole and Joe Wike
I began taking classes with Beth Harrison/A Paw Above last April. Six months prior to that, I adopted what I believed to be the most incorrigible, wild, uncivilized (approximately one year old) rescue dog Id ever imagined. Ive owned a number of dogs in my lifetime, so dog behavior wasnt new to me. But he wasnt housebroken, he ripped through the house, jumping on couches, beds and even kitchen counters, and tore into a window screen to gain access to the house. He chewed up everything he could find and I mean everything with the exception of his own chew toys (of course). After working with a trainer between December and February, I was able to teach Blue (lab/pit mix) some very basic commands and tried to slowly introduce Blue to another dog. Actually, he learned it all very quickly....and was remarkably obedient, until there was another animal (especially a dog) in his universe. We left that training with one MAJOR issue and it tainted every single day of our lives. I still couldnt walk Blue anywhere without him pulling, dragging me and completely flipping out when he saw a bird, cat, lizard, squirrels, roosters (yes, there are some roosters in a yard that backs up to the city wash behind our house), and most especially other dogs. He would flip and leap and lunge and I could barely contain him. I couldnt take him in the car because he would fly at the windows when he saw a dog on the street. He managed to free himself out of four or five different kinds of collars, including harnesses and head collars. He growled and whined and I was afraid he might hurt another dog as I was unable to interpret his reactions. Blue clearly needed the exercise, but I was worn out by the time 20 minutes had gone by. And if he didnt get PLENTY of exercise, he tore up everything in sight....his bedding, water hoses, sprinklers, kitchen towels, shoes, socks, newspapers EVERYTHING. I was beginning to fear that I could not keep this dog. I finally began calling around and met with three different trainers. I chose Beth and Azure from A Paw Above because of Beths confidence and her extensive work with rescue dogs and dogs suffering from abuse and neglect. I also chose A Paw Above because I was allowed and encouraged to observe classes (as many as I needed!) before bringing Blue. Beth assured me that she would help me, even just getting Blue from the parking lot to the door. Classes are generally focused on the dog with the most challenging issues and all the other dogs get to work on the lesson and/or how to deal with other dogs with issues. What I like best is that there is no judgment about a dog or an owner of a dog with issues. No bad dogs. The focus is always on how to help the dogs get past whatever their struggle is. What I also like best is that the first 20 minutes or so is "free play time," so they can release some of their energy prior to concentrating on a lesson or a command. Makes for fewer failures in the training process. Fast forward six months though it is no longer necessary, Blue and I still attend classes on a fairly frequent basis. What a transformation, I have witnessed as Beths take on Blue was that he was not aggressive, but didnt know "how to play," due to lack of exposure and experience. He now romps with the other dogs in class, we can walk in our neighborhood past squirrels and roosters and lizards with ZERO reaction. He still whines some when he sees a cat or dog, but no longer finds the airborne back flips to be a rewarding response, and instead looks to me for reassurance and the understanding that he cant have it. Beth and Azure know their stuff and there are often other students helping out from the local Animal Behavioral College. Choose A Paw Above, for a well-managed, well-behaved dog and a peaceful life.
Zoom Room Redondo Beach is great place to have fun with your BFF. Cash and Dolci love all the people who work there. Every one is so helpful and you can tell they love their jobs. We had a great experience with Dianne Lawrence when she gave our puppy (mixed german shepherd/lab) obedience training including walking on a leash and most important, teaching the dog how to behave around people and other dogs. Her style is gentle, but firm, and commands respect from the dog without being harsh. She also focuses on the human relationship with the dog and makes you understand your role in the dog's behavior. Dianne's focus is not to personally train the dog, but to teach you as a dog owner to train the dog. Along with the general obedience training, Dianne also taught us how to train our dog to sit, lie down, come, and stay. We have nothing but positive things to say about Dianne and recommend her wholeheartedly as a fantastic dog trainer. Our dog loved Dianne, and was eagerly wagging his tail every time he saw her.
