Stephan is that rare individual that not only knows music theory backwards and forwards, he is able to convey the information so it is easily understood. First lesson and I left with the the fundamentals and understanding.I was after. Great instructor!

Stephan is amazing. So patient, encouraging, and most importantly, he makes learning the guitar a joy! He breaks down the most difficult parts of learning the guitar into easily digestible sections. Not to mention, we have the lessons at an awesome place in Benedict Canyon. He's really the best, such a pleasure to be around, super professional and all around GREAT!

I took guitar lessons with Stephan for about 6 months before I moved away from Los Angeles. I was a beginner who had tried to teach myself the acoustic guitar for a few years prior, but I never progressed very far until I started taking lessons with Stephan. I enjoyed the style of his lessons, in that I could choose what songs I wanted to learn and therefore actually want to practice them on my own, while at the same time learning theory that Stephan would weave into lessons. Stephan was great at coming up with the best approach for me to learn any song of my choice for my skill level, while also allowing me to learn new techniques. I was impressed that he was able to figure out how to play songs from a wide range of genres that I chose, and he was really able to pack a lot of information into a 30 minute lesson. I accomplished everything that I wanted from our lessons these past months (e.g. learning different strum patterns, building up a repertoire of songs to play for friends). Stephan is very energetic, positive, patient, and kind, plus it was always very enjoyable to listen to him play. I highly recommend Stephan for guitar lessons!

Stephan is great at explaining and he makes sure you understand everything! I got editing lessons from Stephen and just in a short time I am able to edit my own projects. I did not know anything at all about editing and now I feel comfortable and inspired. Thanks Stephen

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Shop around! Choosing a teacher is a big decision and unfortunately not every student / teacher pairing is a perfect fit. Make sure the provider is willing to share their approach and their demeanor with you BEFORE they ask you to commit a bunch of time and money to them! In trying to live up to my own beliefs about teaching and the services I'm selling I always allow a free introductory lesson for ANY student interested in lessons because I know how stressful of a process it can turn into. Don't settle for the person who's just there -- settle for the person who is the right fit!
