Nova is a phenomenal personal physical therapist and fitness trainer!! I was privileged to work with Nova at Cedar Sinai to recover from my breast cancer treatment. Nova is so knowledgeable, kind and compassionate. She met me at my level, which was pretty low due to all the treatments and brought my body back to full function in a gradual, methodical manner. She was really attentive to how well I was performing my exercises and was always able to modify any exercise when the challenge was too great. The result: I rebuilt my body and stamina with joy and no injuries and discovered a new level of performance I never thought I could do. I am very grateful for all her help.

Nova is a professional, kind, excellent. trainer. She is “an iron fist in a velvet glove.” You will be challenged, stretched and disciplined, but you may not realize it as Nova’s soft demeanor can be deceiving. She’s a fitness beast inside and she will help you become one as well.

I was fortunate to have had Nova Cruz as my exercise physiologist. She took me, a person who never worked out and hated the idea of exercise, to a person who loves exercise and can’t wait to get to the gym. Nova has a work ethic that makes her patients put forth their full effort. She also recognized the needs of her patients and works to make exercises that challenge her patients and encourages her them to succeed and push themselves to a higher level of fitness. How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started off with interning at an Adapted Physical Activity place working with clients who had cerebral palsy, Pkan, multiple sclerosis, post-stroke and etc. I was given an opportunity to work at a community program with Cancer Survivors and it has been a life changing experience.
