Introduction: Hi! My name is John Burt. I provide guitar lessons to all beginning, intermediate guitar students. My lessons are thoughtful and tailored to each person's individual goals. I teach rhythm playing chords, chord progressions, basic scales, figuring out songs and melody training . I also teach a side class in slide playing - all the modes alternate tunings, as well as various styles of playing rock, blues, swing, funk, jazz and country. I'm a practicing musician/teacher for the last 20 + years, so I bring a lot of experience and mellow way of teaching that stresses fun. I am an all age teacher who charges a very fair and competitive rate in the Bay area market. I teach primarily in the South Bay and Santa Cruz area. My rates are negotiable, from $30-40 per hour, depending on travel distance (on my part) and number of students in one lesson.
